'You should be more careful Ms...'
His voice echoed through my system again and again. I was very little myself because I was not able to face him. I just got uprooted from what happened earlier.
I went to the restroom to look at my face in the mirror, my face was very pale. I just applied powder and fixed my messy hair. A few moments later I came out.
2 minutes before my class, I hope I can make it. I did run-walk just to reach our classroom wherein Saph and my other block mates are here. I can't be absent. That's still a major class.
I caught my breath when I arrived. Others were even surprised. I sat in the chair next to Saph. Saph is sure to bombard me with questions later. He couldn't do that because our prof arrived just in time.
Even though our prof was teaching in front, I couldn't help but think about the man from earlier. If he reports, surely a council will come and summon me to the dean's office.
"Miss Hechanova." The prof's authoritative said caused me to wake up to reality. His voice covers every corner of the room, no doubt. This is a major class. "Can you repeat what I said?" He added.
"Lin Huiyin is considered the first female architect in modern China. Alongside her husband, Liang Sicheng, she helped launch the architecture department at Northeastern University in Shenyang. Maya Lin, who designed the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington DC, is Huiyin's niece." I said. This is not unfamiliar to me.
Therefore, I know how the whole topic of architecture revolves. I shouldn't drown myself in studies, thus when I was in high school I studied everything before I got here.
Because I will not only be a student at this university.
The major class ended without the instructor finding anything wrong with me. It's good. I survived the professor's question, but Saphira's question, apparently not.
"Why were you so out of breath earlier?" She asked with raised eyebrows. We are now in the hallway, walking to our next class.
"I woke up late." I lied.
"Someone saw you, come in early." My jaw dropped but recovered. I shouldn't let my emotions go when it comes to these situations. "They said you entered the library." She added. I don't know if she also has many circles here or if she is just easy to get along with.
"Yeah right, I woke up late because I fell asleep in the library to study." I will stand by my first statement.
"There's a librarian there, why didn't she wake you up?" She said again. Shit, I forgot. "Besides, they saw you talking to a man there in front of the dean's office." WTF? Even that got to her? Correction, we didn't talk to each other. I turned my back on him at that time. How can we talk? Really? Whoever brought the wrong news to Saphira, I will curse them!
I looked at her and she was smirking at me now. I don't need to make excuses anymore. She caught me. I raised the same palm to her. A sign of surrender.
"Tsk tsk tsk Keirra Keirra" she teased. "I won the ball last night." I glared at her. It thinks differently. I just went ahead because she was just going to tease me.
"Tell me what happened later when it's vacant!!" She shouted.
