"Louis come and set the table!"

"I'm coming mom !"

Louis opened his bedroom door and headed to the kitchen, to start setting the table.

Louis sighed and looked in the direction of the door to see a small head sticking out.

"Alexis stop bothering your little sister!" - Louis looked at Alexis wickedly.

"Sorry big brother..."

Louis sighed and then walked over to stroke her head.

"Go run somewhere else, I'm busy." Louis pushed the two little monsters gently and began to set the table.

"Mom I'm done !"

"Cool! We're going to eat !"

Louis, his mother and two siblings began to eat slowly. Louis look at his mother before taking a breath.

"Mom, I want to join the army."

"Oh, listen, does what – WAIT WHAT?!" - Louis' mother almost choked and looked at her son with surprise and dismay.

"Don't you want to?" - Louis swallows uneasy at his mother's reaction.

"No at all! I'll support you if that's what you want!" - Louis' mother smiles.

After eating, Louis returned to his room and took out a small notebook. He opened it.

[I've been thinking about it for quite some time now. Enlist in the army. I don't necessarily like my country, its flag or its traditions. I know nothing about it to tell the truth, I am French but without really being. I come from a rather modest family, with my mother's work as only source of income. We were always 'poor', always on the edge of the abyss, on the edge of no longer having a roof. I'm pretty good at sports, and I'm 1m75 height. I think I can.]

Louis put it away in his closet and settled into his bed, staring at the ceiling.
