Dwayne Ella , bows her head in respect to Grandpa Uso. Although a country girl, Mr. Dwayne had educated Dwayne Ella with strict manners.
"This girl looks innocent and polite," thought Grandpa Uso.
"Are you catching fish?" asked Grandpa Uso.
"Yes, I'm going to cook it for lunch," Ella replied.
"What's your name?" asked Grandpa Uso.
"Dwayne Ella ?" she replied.
"That fish looks very fresh, can I have a taste too!" asked Grandpa Uso.
Out of respect for her elder, Ella didn't dare refuse, even though if Grandpa Uso joined them for lunch it would mean no side dishes for dinner.
"It's my pleasure, I Dwayne Ella invite Great Master to have lunch at my house," Ella politely replied.
Grandpa Uso noticed Ella's etiquette and manners, even though she was a country girl, her attitude and words to her elders were very good.
Grandpa Uso looked at enunch Moses, so as not to follow him. enunch Moses nodded.
"Wait at Madam Jim's residence!" Grandpa Uso ordered.
"Yes, sir," enunch Moses replied.
Ella walked a little behind Grandpa Uso, taking care that in case Grandpa Uso fell, then she would immediately catch him. Grandpa Uso realized this and tried to test him by pretending to fall.
Ella quickly threw away all the things she held in her hands, then immediately caught Grandpa Uso.
"Great master, are you alright?" asked Ella .
"Yes, I'm fine," Grandpa Uso replied with a happy smile.
Arriving home, Ella immediately opened the wooden gate of their house. Ella's house had the architecture of an old Chinese house with thick wood carvings. It's not a big and old house but Ella takes good care of it because for Ella it's like preserving a culture.
Grandpa Uso really likes Ella's old house. It's like going back to the royal era. It was beautiful and relaxing.
"Please come in, sir," Ella said.
"Father, we have a special visitor today," said Ella who saw his father waiting at the door of their house.
"Ah, what an honor it is to host you, sir," said Mr. Dwayne with a happy heart.
It had been a very, very long time since anyone had visited their house, except for Madam lee and Mr. Lee who often came to bring them rice and vegetables.
"Sir, please come in, I'll cook lunch right away," Ella said.
Grandpa Uso came in and saw that on the table was Petechess , a Chinese chess game full of strategy.
The pieces were simple. Big round wood with Chinese characters. The color of the pieces is similar. The difference is the color of the letters engraved on it, black and red.
"Do you play Petechess?" asked Grandpa Uso.
"Yes, my daughter sometimes accompanies me to play," replied Mr. Dwayne .
"This is rare, very few people are interested in this chess game these days," Grandpa Uso thought.
"Do you know anything about the history of chess?" Grandpa Uso asked probingly.
Ella brought the tea she had just brewed and heard Grandpa Uso's question and quickly answered.
"Its creator was the Assistant general of the Ituru army, Jacob pete," Ella replied.
Grandpa Uso smiled at her answer, "Then what else do you know?" he asked.
"Although he was a bit arrogant, according to the officials and troops back then, he was an intelligent man. Especially in war strategy. Pete was known to be a thinktank and adapt in any warfare," Ella replied.
"Petechess was originally created as entertainment for soldiers when they were idle. However, because it relied on the brain, the game indirectly made the soldiers more practical in carrying out strategies. Indirectly, Petechess became a tool for strategizing war," Ella explained.
"In the past, Petechess only existed among soldiers and the elite. But, later it spread to the general public," Ella added to her explanation.
"Good girl," Grandpa Uso replied.
"Will you play with me, Mr. Dwayne?" asked Grandpa Uso.
"Of course, sir, with pleasure," replied Mr. Dwayne.
Their game was interrupted when Ella called them in for lunch. Ella made a traditional dish of pickled fish soup. This soupy dish contains fish with salted mustard greens. The fish is thinly sliced and topped with sliced red chili. It tastes like fish soup, sour, spicy, savory.
Grandpa Uso was enthusiastic about the food that Ella cooked even though it was only rice and one side dish.
Grandpa Uso was satisfied with the hospitality of Ella and her father, even though they did not know who he was, but they had treated him very well. To Grandpa Uso, this kind of courtesy and sincerity was rare among people today.
"Sir, I'll take you back," Ella said.
"Yes, that would be great," Grandpa Uso replied happily.
Ella led Grandpa Uso to Lady Jim's house. Ella of course recognized Lady Jim's house. enunch Moses who saw that Mr. Big had returned, immediately approached.
"Sir, they've been waiting for you since noon," enunch Moses said.
"That's no longer necessary, I've already found the person," Grandpa Uso replied.
enunch Moses looked at Ella, "Isn't this the spear girl from the river," he thought.
Grandpa Uso invited Ella in, everyone looked at Ella who walked with Grandpa Uso into Lady Jim's living room.
Meanwhile, enunch Moses told Lady Jim that his master had found a future son-in-law for the Uso family and asked the girls present here to return to their homes.
After Lady Jim sent the girls who had passed the selection home, Lady Jim went to the living room to meet Grandpa Uso.
"Mr. Uso," greeted Lady Jim.
Lady Jim looked at Ella , "This girl..." she murmured.
"Sir, I heard that Mr. Uso has already made his decision," Lady Jim said.
"Yes, I chose this girl," Grandpa Uso said.
Ella still didn't understand the situation. Lady Jim looked at Ella , "how does this girl know GrandMaster Uso," Lady Jim thought.
"Sir! This girl wasn't even in the selection," Lady Jim said.
"I selected her myself and she passed the selection," Grandpa Uso replied.
"Ella ..."
Grandpa Uso stood up, "Good girl, see you later," Grandpa Uso said and hurriedly left Lady Jim 's residence.
Ella looked at Lady Jim in confusion, "What's this... all about?" she asked.
"You..." Lady Jim hesitated slightly.
"You've just been chosen as the Uso family's son-in-law," Lady Jim replied.
Ella was really surprised, just bringing a strange grandfather to her residence and then suddenly being chosen as a daughter-in-law.
