The two of them lied on the white surface catching their breathes after arguing and laughing. Father Asher turned to look at the little devil who was still staring at the endless view above him, "why can't we have a serious conversation for once?" Hun asked making Father Asher giggle, Hun smacked his arm and huffed in annoyance before he rolled to lay above Father Asher.
"I'm serious, Asher! It's unbelievable how seriousness is far from our conversations!" Father Asher smiled and patted Hun's fluffy black hair. "Hun? Imagine us in this setting where we're all serious and you broke down crying and trembling from inner pain, what is the best thing for me to do?"
"Hold me" Hun said immediately making Father Asher choke on air from shock, he didn't expect Hun to reply this fast and with a straight face at that! "Are you ok?" Hun asked worriedly while patting Father Asher's chest hoping to calm down the pain coming from choking.
"I'm ok" he held the hand on his chest and kissed it making Hun gasp before hiccupping again. Father Asher giggled letting Hun understand what he meant by that question. Hun blinked then smiled before giggling, the young man held his squishy cheeks and smirked, Hun gasped sensing something bad about to happen. He watched as Father Asher's face grow closer before he put a hand between their lips.
Father Asher sighed and sat straight keeping Hun in his lap.
"Once upon a time, there was a young boy who never knew what fatherly love is because the man called father was busy drinking, gambling and hitting his wife for any random reasons. He never hit his son though which, until this day, is quite surprising. As for motherly love..." Father Asher bit his lip before he released a long sigh, "no idea if the love given to that child was love or a showoff so people call her 'an amazing mother' and 'a caring mother'" he gave a weak smile when he noticed Hun's worried face. He gave a peck on his forehead and leaned to rest his chin on Hun's shoulder still holding onto him as if life depends on it.
"When the father was sent to jail for killing his wife, the child was left with two choices, either go with a relative or stay in the orphanage" Hun's eyes glowed with hope and anticipation making Father Asher's heart sting and hug the little devil so he doesn't see his sad face, "none of the child's relatives accept him, they asked for him to be sent to the orphanage. The young boy, who was 10 years old, was angry, mad at himself, he even felt hatred toward those adults who called themselves family. They did all that in fear the child will come out as his father, so they worried about themselves forgetting one concerning fact, what you fear will become real"
Hun gasped and pushed Father Asher away to look him in the eyes, to tell him he didn't do what he just imagined. Father Asher patted his head and nodded, "I didn't hurt them but instead, their children did" Hun stared at him waiting for more so Father Asher chuckled and kissed Hun's nose, "I thought the story was supposed to be about the handsome young boy~" Hun blushed and punched Father Asher's arm, he huffed before he sighed.
Father Asher felt something is wrong so he was about to ask Hun about it but he was cut off, "you need to wake up"
"Hun?" The little devil turned with a small smile on his face, "Asher, a week had passed so you need to wake up now! Don't worry, I'll be waiting for you~"
Everything around them became blurry before Father Asher opened his eyes abruptly causing them to be shut again to ease the sting of sudden wind and sunlight. "Augh!"
"Oh dear~" He turned to his right side to find Hun lying beside him in his human male form, "you hurt your eyes? Close them again until the pain eases" Hun said worriedly causing a smile to reach Father Asher's face. He held Hun's hand and kissed it before he kissed his wrist, "wha?!" Father Asher held him before he finished his question and laid him above him so he can hear his heartbeat.
"Asher?"
"Shhh. Let us remain like this for a little longer" he whispered in Hun's ear making him blush and hold onto the young man tighter.
"Kids!!!?!?!" The Wings entered quickly when they sensed their manas again.
"Or maybe not" Father Asher said helplessly before chuckling at the embarrassed Hun.
"Awww~ you cute little thing~!!! Why are you embarrassed?" Hun tried to hide himself under Father Asher's blanket only to hear more aww and giggles.
"You owe me a lot!" Hun whispered to the young Priest making everyone laugh, "aughh"
After everything calmed down and they left to attend their classes, Priestess Jane called for Father Asher.
"Father Asher?" She put a hand on her chin and hummed, "You were given the position Father even though you didn't attend this 'special academy', any idea why?" Father Asher flinched and gave it a thought, but he still couldn't find the answer to that question, even when the old man told him "Time will answer it", 10 years had passed, and the answer has not been revealed yet. He looked up at Priestess Jane and took a deep breath, "do you have the answer I've been looking for?" She stared at him before she shook her head causing the young man to droop and his disappointment to sink in.
"Why are you looking for an answer?" She asked him to bring him back to reality. He stared at her with tired eyes and shook his head. Priestess Jane sighed and signaled him to leave.
After he walked out, she pondered about their next step, starting with the reason for Father Asher's teacher, aka, one of the Archangel's Wings, to step in and give that position to someone like Asher. She watched the young man closely but there was nothing unique about him to receive such treatment, "seems like there is more than meets the eye"
