(These interviews were taken and recorded prior to Chapter 33: Rengoku. Ali was consulted in Akaza's dojo and Eira, Asumi and Kaze were consulted in the Butterfly Mansion. The Interviews were published in Crow's Daily, a famous newspaper ran and read by Kasugai Crows, so before anyone asks, no humans read or are even aware of this newspaper chain. Yes I know, such a great idea, make sure to comment "Wow Writer 1, you're so creative and handsome and the best!". Anyways, let's read Crow's Daily. Long but fun chapter. )
CROW'S DAILY - page 12 - 3rd of November edition.
Welcome to the FAMOUS INTERVIEWS! Everyone's favourite section in Crow's Daily! We interview anyone and anything that we want to, our interviews are led by none other than the one and only, Interviewer Crow! Interviewer Crow has become an icon in Crow's Daily and made a serious name for himself! He asks questions submitted by others and also his own questions. This week, Interviewer Crow decides to delve deep in a particular group, familiar names as one of our fellow crows is connected to this group. The interviewees for the 3rd November Edition of FAMOUS INTERVIEWS are none other than Asumi, Eira, Kaze, Ali alongside special guests Writer 1 and Writer 2! Now let's see how Interviewer Crow found these people…
Before Interviewer Crow's report, we'd like to give our condolences to Grey Feathered Crow, or more recently known as Ali Junior, he was a brave crow who died only a week ago. He was an avid enjoyer of FAMOUS INTERVIEWS and was the interviewee of 18th of January Edition 5 years ago. He also frequently wrote short stories about his adventures on Crow's Daily. These short adventures included a range of his Demon Slayers but most importantly they included Ali in the recent months. We'd like to tribute this interview to Grey Feathered Crow/ Ali Junior. We hope you are laughing in heaven at this interview.
Interviewer Crow: I am fortunate enough to have caught all three Asumi, Eira and Kaze in one place! The Butterfly Mansion. First I am going to enter the room where Asumi is!
Asumi
Interviewer Crow: Hello Asumi! We're delighted to see you in recovery, I would hate to take your time, let's keep it simple! Crow's Daily was notified of your splendid courage in the Natagumo mission, what compelled you to stand and fight even after such a vicious beating?
Asumi: Oh… Well I really didn't want to be useless again, so I gave it all and really pushed myself to get back up. Is that an ok answer?
Interviewer Crow: Yes it's more than ok. We don't want to put too much strain so we'll end off with a question from one of our fans! noshameatall (from wattpad) asks: Asumi do you miss Ali?
Asumi: Wow that's a confronting question… but yes, I miss him everyday, that's why I keep the flower on me all the time. It's just great to see that the flower is still alive and well, it means that he hasn't forgotten about me…
Interviewer Crow: How touching! I would love to send the message to Ali that you're doing fine but Writer 1 has sent me death threats and told me if I mess with the canon timeline he'll roast me alive!
Asumi: The… canon timeline?
Interviewer: Nothing, thank you for your time!
Kaze
Interviewer Crow: Wow… It was sure hard to find you in this big building, it looks like you're doing much better than Asumi!
Kaze: Well, I wouldn't say that much better, but yeah I'm good enough to walk.
Interviewer Crow: Let's get right into it! You've just joined the Corps so Crow's Daily is curious in which breathing style you use, Wind? Fire?
Kaze: Oh, I actually don't use a breathing style, I've transferred my knowledge of a martial art that my father taught me and implemented it in swordsmanship.
Interviewer Crow: Wow, that is very interesting! Now that we've asked that question, let's get into the fan questions! noshameatall (from wattpad) asks: Kaze why are you so daddy-material? Are you single? (asking for a friend)
Kaze: What?.. Well, yes I'm single but… I'm not really looking for a relationship at the moment.
Interviewer Crow: noshameatall will be delighted to hear that! They've also asked a more sensible question: Will we see more of Kaze's martial arts ever?
Kaze: Oh like my actual martial arts? Well… I can't exactly use it against demons since it'd just be a waste of energy, maybe if my sword was ever knocked out of my hands I'd have to resort to my martial arts.
Interviewer Crow: That sounds very compelling, anyways, thank you for your time! And welcome to the Corps!
Kaze: Yeah thank you for having me, by the way, Eira is training on the other side of the mansion, just so it's easier for you haha.
Interviewer Crow: Thank you so much Kaze! On behalf of FAMOUS INTERVIEWS we wish you well.
Eira
Interviewer Crow: How impressive! You're training after so many injuries, no wonder you were offered the role of Hashira.
Eira: Wow! You're so cute, is that a little jacket that says "PRESS" on the back? And you're holding a small notepad and pen?
Interviewer Crow: You're very observant. We'll get started right away, even after six months, we still haven't got a clear grasp on your aura ability, could you describe it please? Can you see it around people or is it in your mind?
Eira: I've always had trouble with that question… It isn't exactly visual, the auras are more in my brain, so when someone walks by my brain will imagine their aura colour, but sometimes an aura can be so powerful my eyes try to imagine it in order to cope with the feeling. When I look at someone I don't see it visually, but if I imagine them I imagine that colour around them as well? Is that good?
Interviewer Crow: … Yeah… Anyways, our fan noshameatall asks: Eira, what is your favourite thing about the mountains?
Eira: My brother, I love everything else but the fact that my brother is there is probably the favourite thing about the mountains.
Interviewer Crow: How sweet! Another fan justrynalive (from wattpad) asks: Eira, are you ok?
Eira: Yeah? Why wouldn't I be?
Interviewer Crow: Just wait a couple chapters…
Eira: What?
Interviewer Crow: Nothing, noshameatall again asks: do your Mountain Gods have names?
Eira: My mountain gods? You guys know about them?.. Yes they do but only the elders and priests know them, the elders always address the three Gods as God of Land, God of Air and God of Water to those who aren't allowed to know. The names are revealed to a person once they reach their 45th birthday. I can't wait to know them…That way my prayers can be more individual and direct since I address them as a collective most of the time.
Interviewer Crow: Your religion is very intriguing! Could you please explain why a person would die if they reach the top of the mountain? Isn't the village already on the top?
Eira: No haha! Our village is on a large flat part of the mountain so we aren't at the top, the mountain shape isn't always a straight triangle shape you know… Oh right, let me make it clear, my village isn't exactly a small village, there has to be at least… 300 people? The mountain is pretty big.
Interviewer Crow: My apologies.
Eira: Our village faces the sunrise, that same direction is a steep path that leads to the fields below, it takes great practice to descend using that path. I'm pretty experienced so I can descend quickly, children and people less experienced use the other path on the right side of the village. The backside of our village is just a cliff so no one goes there and finally for the left side… There is a large river that runs on the left side, the river separates our village and the path towards the top of the mountain, the river isn't exactly that wide so if you were old enough you could get to the path to the top of the mountain if you were a confident swimmer.
Interviewer Crow: I see.
Eira: There was once a man who crossed the river and climbed to the top of the mountain. Back in the man's time there wasn't a strict rule to not climb the mountain, it was just the fact no one could swim as they hadn't gone down below and swam as much as people do now. The man saw the three gods and fell at their feet. The man begged for the gods to heal his ill wife and newborn. The gods were cautious but lenient, they gave the man a medicine that could heal the illness that his wife and newborn were suffering. However, he was given one condition, that he couldn't speak of this encounter. He promised and went down, his wife and newborn were cured and the whole village was shocked. He broke his promise, he advertised the gods and drew pictures of them telling people to climb the mountain. More people tried to climb the mountain. The next day everyone who attempted, the man, his wife and his child were all found frozen solid, dead. They were all in their warm houses so it had to be the work of the gods. Ever since then no one has dared to climb the mountain.
Interviewer Crow: Wow… That's wow… ahem. Thank you so much for your time Eira! I'm afraid we are out of time as I have to make a long journey now.
Eira: Thank you as well. Good luck on that journey!
Ali
Interviewer Crow: Wow… This mountain is very hard to get to… Thank you for willing to be interviewed, Ali! This will be the first demon we've interviewed, we were given your location by Ali Jnr and made sure to come at night.
Ali: Nah it's all good. It's cool as hell to be a part of an interview! Ali Junior actually dropped by yesterday. Anyways, questions! I'm ready to answer.
Interviewer Crow: And get asking I will! noshameatall asks: Ali what do you think of Akaza?
Ali: HAHAHA, Only if he was here right now. He's a very good mentor, murderous but good, I've grown closer to him so yeah, love him. He's a very good friend, I understand and respect his motivations.
Interviewer Crow: Next, again from noshameatall: What is Ali's favourite food?
Ali: Ohhh, I have a lot of favourite foods, too bad I can't eat them now that I'm a demon, I throw up if I eat normal food. I love love LOVE plain rice. I could eat fifty bowls.
Interviewer Crow: noshameatall asks: Ali do you miss Asumi?
Ali: Of course, she's the love of my life. Not a single day where I don't think about her you know? I even have the flower in my pocket always.
Interviewer Crow: How lovely. justrynalive asks: To Ali, do you want to become a human again? or have you accepted your form as a demon?
Ali: I'd say both, I've accepted myself as a demon because what else can I do? But I really want to become human again, live a simple life, be able to eat and stand in sunlight again.
Interviewer Crow: I'm so sorry for you. And last question, noshameatall asks: Ali, what's up with you and Daki, WHAT DID SHE SAY THAT ONE TIME?!
Ali: … Who… Who's Daki? I don't know anyone with that name haha…
Interviewer Crow: The readers definitely won't be happy with that… but nevertheless thank you for your time Ali!
Ali: Yeah, make sure to come back, bring Ali Junior with you next time!
Writer 2
Interviewer Crow: Hello Writer 2!
Writer 2: Hi! You're here for the interview?
Interview Crow: Yes I am! How'd you know? Anyways, let's get started noshameatall asks: If Eira was in our world, what artists would she listen to?
Writer 2: My first thoughts are in no particular order: Laufy, boygenius, TV girl, Mitski, Olivia Rodrigo, Faye Webster, Joji, JVKE, Florence + The Machine
... and probably oddly specific, oddly niche classical music vibe songs
ㅤ
However as Writer 1 has mentioned Eira is constantly evolving and changing with the times so this question is hard because she would be likely to listen to different artists at different points in the book and think about her life in general so there isn't really one answer to give. This question also raises the like 10 other question of how one would define her being in our world works, such as how being a demon slayer and her experiences would or wouldn't change because obviously how she is now and her experiences would be reflected in the answer but if they were to change that would open a whole can of worms to think about. I just honestly went to my recently listened to and looked at the artist names and went yep okay add that
Interviewer Crow: noshameatall asks: Writer 2, Do you ever write or contribute to the chapters content wise?
Writer 2: Currently I am kind of like Batman, I work from the shadows. All jokes aside as it stands Writer 1 does most of the work if not all now. My work was mostly completed and done while writing and producing the drafts. Hence why I am still referred to as a Writer. Think of it like this, I co-wrote during the drafts and played a major role there so I contributed to foundations that Writer 1 works with now in writing this published form. I still lay out my thoughts and opinions now on what Writer 1 is choosing to add to what we wrote together, but the chapters you see today are produced by him with what we both wrote in mind and to reference from. If that makes sense?
Interviewer Crow: noshameatall asks: How many drafts did Amare Flos take?
Writer 2: 2, an original and a re-write. Then there is the one you are all getting to read today!
Interviewer Crow: Writer 2 what happened to that red guy in Final Selection? I KNOW WRITER 1 WOULDN'T ANSWER THIS QUESTION PROPERLY
Writer 2: Obviously, I can't say too much about it as well for 2 reasons
It's spoilers and 2. Writer 1 likes being cryptic with everyone including me!
ㅤ
For all those who have likely forgotten about his existence and are wondering who on earth is this red guy?! In The final selection Eira had noticed a few particular figures in the crowd of those trying to become official corpse members. This list of people she had predicted to survive was ( despite her not knowing it at the time ) was Asumi and another mysterious figure " a tall boy with a deep red haori with a crazed look in his eyes"
ㅤ
So as disappointing as a lack of an answer is, I can at least tell you her guess was correct and he did survive, he is in fact alive and well.
Hint: look at point 1 of why I can't say. Literally can't say anything more than that
Interviewer Crow: The readers are going to be twisting and turning! Noshameatall asks again: THIS IS FOR BOTH WRITERS, WHY DO YALL HAVE BEEF?!
Writer 2: My first thought to this question was for shits and giggles BUT SOMEONE APPARENTLY WANTS TO START A WAR WITH ME AND INTENDS TO KILL ME AFTER THE STORY IS OVER?!
Like rude?
ㅤ
All jokes aside, it is all just some good fun and we don't actually hate each other, it's something we've always done for a bit of fun as friends. Just poke a bit of fun and tease at the other yk? We fight like siblings do, would die or donate a kidney for the other but if there is even a smidge of room for a joke it will be made, and feelings? Never even heard of them
Interviewer Crow: Thank you so much! I'm going to visit Writer 1 now!
Writer 2: Have fun Mr Crow!
Writer 1
Interviewer Crow: Hello Writer 1!
Writer 1: What the fuck are you doing in my house?
Interviewer Crow: For… The interview?
Writer 1: Nah don't worry I'm joking, you didn't mess with the timeline like I said right?
Interviewer Crow: Of course not!
Writer 1: Good, get on with the questions, I don't got time.
Interviewer Crow: Right… First question is from justrynalive: How many chapters are there left? Like a rough estimate, because it only seems as if it's just started so my guess would be the story would end up with around 100 or so chapters?
Writer 1: Damn, I'd say about like 15-20 chapters left in Amare Flos, in the current draft there's about 60 chapters, but hey I've barely been following the draft, then again 100 chapters would absolutely kill me. I'd say 70 chapters maximum as a rough estimate.
Interviewer Crow: Again from justrynalive: I've just realised, in the prologue Ali and Asumi are on a snowy mountain, is the mountain in the prologue and Eira's mountain the same mountain? If so, would they have met prior to Final Selection?
Writer 1: In our very first draft, yes it was, in the first draft everyone was connected somehow, it was messy and sprouted a lot of plotholes, so in the second draft I changed it completely. In the current published version no, the mountains aren't the same.
Interviewer Crow: What an interesting question, justrynalive asks: In terms of innovating, writing and publishing the idea of Amare Flos, how much work do each of the writers do? I imagine it would be split between the two of you but I'm curious to see who does what lol.
Writer 1: Amare Flos as an idea was developed by both the Writers, and then it carried on with the occasional, "yo this is sick, what if we publish it or something?" and then we were both like "yeah right, no way" and we left it to sit for a good year or so. I came back and picked up the first draft and was like "Writer 2... THIS IS STRAIGHT UP SHIT WTF. LET ME REWRITE IT" and of course they had no problem with it, after the rewrite I changed the plot dramatically and added a lot of new stuff and then we again said, "yo, this is sick what if we publish it?" this time it was more of a maybe. Then I left on vacation and it sat there for another 4 months. Finally in February 2023, we decided to publish it for real and the first chapter was published. I just realised this didn't answer your question at all, my bad, anyways, I do the writing, publishing, and editing while Writer 2 does the proofreading and acts as a cheerleader when it comes out. So yeah, we both have important roles.
Interviewer Crow: noshameatall asks: How much time does it take to write one chapter?
Writer 1: Damn, on a good day like 1-2 hours? Ever since the average chapter length went up to like 2k it's been longer, and I procrastinate a whole bunch. I miss the days when I just copied and pasted whatever was on the draft document.
Interviewer Crow: 1 to 2 hours… it takes me about 6 hours to publish an interview..
Writer 1: It's easier with human hands.
Interviewer Crow: Must be, next question is from noshameatall: why do you make the readers suffer with those unbearable cliffhangers?
Writer 1: Two answers, 1. I really don't want to do cliffhangers as well, it's just with all the description and stuff I do, the chapter quickly reaches 2 thousand words which is where I sorta draw the line and call it a day, so I always end up having to leave it on a cliffhanger, but believe me, I would love to do one idea per chapter but it never fits.
2. It's in my author name, "YourTearsAreMyFuel" the more suffering and agony from readers, the better for me.
Interviewer Crow: Is your author name really that?..
Writer 1: Hurry up, I need to take a shit.
Interviewer Crow: … Ok… justrynalive asks: This may be a little too ambitious to ask, but will Ali and Asumi ever meet again?
Writer 1: You were shooting for the sky with that one, but I don't know, ask the author.
Interviewer Crow: You… You are the…
Writer 1: Next.
Interviewer Crow: We're getting to the last questions, justrynalive: Sorry for asking so many questions but, Writer 1, you mentioned in an earlier note that you wrote a couple of chapters from scratch, do you still write chapters from scratch or have you gotten back on track with the draft now?
Writer 1: Don't worry about asking too many questions. I said I'd answer everyone's questions and I would've if I got a hundred. Yo I can't lie, I've been writing from scratch since like Chapter 14, it'd probably not the best thing to do, and probably a big ass reason why I gotta fight for my life in order to post in time, but the draft doesn't exactly always align, so the most I use the draft is as a general plotline and for titles. You don't understand how much I struggle with title names, it actually makes me shadow box the air.
Interviewer Crow: And the last question from noshameatall: THIS IS FOR BOTH WRITERS, WHY DO YALL HAVE BEEF?!
Writer 1: This question is probably very confusing to the other platforms. To give a little summary, on Wattpad the platform where we get the most comments, Writer 2 is more active in the comments and always replying. And I always come in giving some snarky and random attack to Writer 2, whether it be calling them a waffler for typing out 6 paragraph responses or just telling them to stfu when they haven't said anything. So now that I've consolidated that to all the readers, unlike Writer 2, my attacks are not for fun, I am ready to start a civil war in the Amare Flos comment section. There is no reason.
Interviewer Crow: Alright… Thank you so much for your contribution to this interview Writer 1!
Writer 1: Get out of my house
And that ends this week's edition of FAMOUS INTERVIEWS with Interviewer Crow! Thank you for reading Crow's Daily! Make sure to continue and read the comic strips and horoscopes on the next pages!
