Chapter 1 - 01 - The Language of Creation

With a great boom, the universe burst into being. Particles and energy grinding against each other, birthing great orbs of rock and balls of fire that drew said rocks into their orbit. While the universe was slowly born, the leftover energy from the explosion began to coalesce in the center of the universe. It slowly drew itself together, collapsing and reforming on itself billions of times. After the energy finally stabilized, it revealed the form of a woman with starry skin and long hair that sparkled like a starry night.

She gently opened her mouth, testing out the strange cavity on her face. She focused with all her might and spoke one shaky word: "K̶̢̦͒̂a̸̡͈̞̥͙͗̀͛͘̕õ̸̗̞͖̻̞ș̸̣̄͛̇."

As the word left her lips, it echoed across the empty universe, announcing the coronation of it's supreme god-queen. Hearing her name out loud filled her with great joy and so she did what any person who had nothing better to do would, repeat her name over and over. Eventually, she grew bored of that around the hundred-billionth time, so she tried something new. She tapped into the ancient energies that coursed through her body and just followed her instinct: creating a small woman composed of rock and stone.

The woman had mossy, green hair that hung down to her waist and muddled, green eyes. As Kaos, held the woman in the palm of her hand, she watched in amusement as the woman of stone began to shake while energy flooded her figure, injecting her with the essence of life itself. Kaos, already bored, grabbed ahold of the nearest solar system and placed the woman on a smaller planet, orbiting the sun in the so-called Goldilocks zone. Kaos wasn't done yet, as she wanted to go all-out on her first modification of the universe. She created another figure, this one a man made of compressed clouds and winds. He was placed next to the stone woman.

Kaos thought for a moment, then named the two creatures, "You," she pointed at the woman, "will be called G̴a̶e̸a̵ and you," she pointed at the man, "will be her husband, O̶u̸r̸a̴n̴o̸s̶."

Then in a frenzy of creation, Kaos created a multitude of other figures, some with animal heads, some creatures of colossal proportions, some winged creatures and anything one could think of. So great was her creative prowess, that soon the world was filled to the brim with primordials, all of which were named by her. It wasn't long after they were born that they began to fight each other, each trying to claim territory on the barren rock.

In disgust, Kaos placed restrictions on each of them, binding them to their respective territories forevermore. Disillusioned with the life she had created, Kaos allowed the galaxy to continue spiraling away from the center of the universe. Her mind already stimulated by that burst of creativity, she started to work on another entity, but this time, she worked slowly and carefully. She spent eons on this project, not wanting it to end up like the shallow spirits she had created before.

Eventually, she completed the creature, it's body a twisted mess of limbs and orifices. However, it's body belied the sheer power its soul could exert on its surroundings. As soon as it was born, the creature quickly fell asleep and its energy burst to life around it, forming a palace the size of a planet to house its host. Acting under its own volition, the energy warped the space around it and the creature's planet-palace vanished.

Undeterred, the cosmic woman uttered its name, "A̷̞̚ż̵̥a̵̱͗z̸̟͒o̷͇̔t̸̙͠h̴̠͊."

Yawning to herself, the woman decided to take a quick nap. Although it hadn't seemed that long to her, she had just been born and instantly decided to create life, powerful life at that.

"I'll only sleep for a little bit," she said to herself.

She closed her eyes and allowed herself to be lulled to sleep by the silence that the vacuum of space provided. What felt like a quick nap to her, quickly changed into a billions of years as her body tried to replenish the energy she depleted when she created the universe, herself and countless gods.

During her slumber, a golden portal appeared in her dream-space and the form of a sleeping man tumbled out of it with the portal closing behind him. Overcome with curiosity, the woman took a seat on the ground next to him and began poking and prodding him. Her delicate fingers combed through his brown locks and rubbed his smooth skin. He was also wearing some kind of strange baggy cloth on his body with a pocket around his midsection and a larger pocket hanging behind his head. Curious, the woman created her own clothes out of thin air to replicate the man.

---

I stirred awake to the sound of a woman humming while someone was massaging my scalp. My body tensed while my mind went blank and tried to conjure up some explanation as to where I was. I slowly opened my eyes and my breath hitched. A gorgeous woman with hair the pattern of a starry sky and eyes like nebulas. On top of it, she was wearing a hoodie. Yep, that settles it, I'm in heaven.

When she saw that I was awake, a stunning smile spread across her lips and she spoke to me, revealing a voice that sounded like a choir of angels: "Who are you?"

"I'm Andrew," I said breathlessly, lost in her eyes, "What's yours?"

She smiled, brushing a strand of inky blackness behind her ear, "My name is K̶̢̦͒̂a̸̡͈̞̥͙͗̀͛͘̕õ̸̗̞͖̻̞ș̸̣̄͛̇"

"Huh?" I asked as blood began to leak from my ears and nose. I started to feel faint and as I felt my consciousness slipping away, I saw her face become panicked and pressed her hands against my face and concentrate. All of a sudden, I felt like I was being pulled back into my body and forced awake. I even felt my blood snake it's way back into my nose and ears, reentering my blood stream.

"What was that?" I asked her.

"I don't know," she answered, "I've never told my name to anyone before. How are you feeling? I had to merge some of my energy with your body. Are you feeling sick or weak?"

"No," I reassured her, "Actually, I'm feeling great!"

I stretched my muscles and sat up, marveling at the lightness I felt when moving and the deftness of my movements.

"Everything feels... great. It's like a weight I didn't know existed was lifted from my shoulders," I said as I tried to explain the sensation to her.

"Let me take a look," she said and placed her hands on the sides of my head and moved her forehead forward until it touched mine. She closed her eyes in concentration, clearly trying to do something and not wanting to interrupt her, I kept still. I must say though, having this much physical contact with a woman as beautiful as her really mad me think that I was in heaven. As if in response to my thoughts, red dusting began to spread across her face. Wait, can she hear my thoughts?

"I can, so can you think of less distracting things?" she asked me.

Sorry, but now you're just making me more conscious of how cute you are. Oh? This is fun, every time I call her cute, her face gets redder and redder. Cute. Cute. Cute.

"Ok, stop!" she let go of my head and backed up, blushing like a storm.

I wonder if people get more confident when they die because I don't think I would've been able to tease her otherwise?

Still blushing, she pointed at me with a shaking finger, "When someone's trying to help you, don't think such distracting thoughts!"

"Would you prefer I said it out loud then?" damn, I am one smooth criminal.

At this point she looked like she couldn't tell if she was flattered or annoyed. Ah, she chose the latter, what a shame.

"Well," she started, "it looks like when I injected you with some of my power to help you, you somehow absorbed it. Your body converted it into energy and used that energy to fortify your bones, muscles and organs. For some reason, you also managed to separate the concept within the energy and hoard it for yourself. That concept was space."

"What does that mean?" I asked her, my head spinning with confusing terms.

"I don't know," she said.
