"Tygon is dead" she whispered to herself in the silent den; "he is truly dead" she repeated to herself again, and placed both hands on her chest in an attempt to suppress her grieve.
Yes, the man was cunning and elusive, arrogant and domineering, wicked and rebellious if the times call for it; but, he was also intense and full of life, and a passionate man to those he cares about. she had been one of the fortunate ones to have had the man under her loving spell.
Kaya could remember it like yesterday, they were both young then, no! Tygon was young then, because she is only young in body features, not the number of years. Naturally her aging process with that of her twin brother Kayata, current ruler of the creed of kumta, is very slow…. Hers is even slower than Kayata.
So it happens that she, kaya; wanted to punish the young pompous prince of Zanka, who later became king Tygon. It seems like the man was daring life, like saying here I am come get me, Tygon was Tygon, full of himself and sure of his capabilities, unmasking all his character traits, depending on the timing… kaya put the man to the test and found out he was all that he projects and more, But the most fascinating thing she like about the man was his sense of justice,
Arrogant; yes, something he was not faking. To him it seems natural…. Probing further got kaya stranded in the magnetic field of the young man. Their love became something else, their wedding a grim short affair. A perfect mistake. Her world was very different from the real world of Cygon.
Her world was sophisticated, secluded, shrouded in so many secrets and covert live; but Tygon never gave up on their love, he fought for them with everything he had and succeeded in bringing her out to the real world of Cygon. A chance to be a normal person. Being a female in the bloodline off the ruling family of kumta comes with it great responsibility, the complications were enormous.
The enmity of Kayata towards Tygon grew ever stronger at this time; but because of his sister in the man's domain Kayata couldn't do anything.
Kaya was a queen unlike any queen in Zanka. No one ever saw her face except Tygon, whisper of her beauty could be heard behind closed doors. To some she was like a deity, and her mysterious nature only fuel the believe of the people about her supremacy. Some dare says all sort of horrible stories about her to scare the kids.
When kaya finally got pregnant, something that was not showing, for he broad hip had a hidden resting place for the fetus, Tygon thought finally the whole of Cygon will finally beheld the most beautiful face in Cygon. But he was disappointed, when the time came for the woman to deliver, she had locked herself in a room and delivered herself, without screams, this only added to the fascinating stories surrounding her. So few people ever suspected she is pregnant.
Kaya named the boy Jhanka… by now she had already broken all the rules of the order. Kumta wanted to use the boy as a sacrifice for the Ayckad, a punishment for a keeper against the order that gave her life. The mystic interjected and safe the boy's life.
Virtually two years after she gave birth, kaya couldn't stay in Zanka anymore, she had always knew this day will come and it surely did. Her calling came, so compelling she couldn't ignore it…. she explains everything to Tygon, but he wouldn't hear none of it, his heart was breaking into pierces.
The high priestess in Npunga who had been there for so long nobody knows how long was dying and have been looking for someone worthy to bare the mantle, century after century she searched and searched but never find anyone until now. This one woman, kaya is the very incarnation of the high priestess. She feared the times that are coming will be very turbulent for her weakening energies.
The priestess put out a call to kaya and there was nothing kaya could do but to succumbed, she simply follows were the call came from, and never looked back. The high priestess realize kaya carries a child in her womb with very strong sprit; guiding and helping the mother through the treacherous journey from Zanka to Npunga.
Npunga had so many problems on its own it never notices the stranger that walked into the lonely caves of the high priestess where no one frequent except the priestess and her sleeping sages…
Before she could be initiated into the priesthood for a successful transition, she has to deliver the baby before…. kaya delivered another baby boy at exactly three moon cycles after her arrival in Npunga and that boy was louga.
Her pain for losing her first son and leaving him behind was still raw and wreaking. So painful it tends to retard the transfusion process when the priestess was dying…. To penetrate and free kaya from all that; the high priestess takes the pain of kaya with her to her grave. Whilst kaya became free in ignorance about her marriage to Tygon, and the memory of their first born son Jhanka lost to her forever…
Kaya buried her predecessor all by herself in the caves where the priestess herself had already dug her own grave a longtime ago. Next kaya managed to fused her child into Npunga society without any notice since it was very common for children to have no parents in Npunga; but kept an eagle eye on the boy…. She feed the boy, took care of him at every turn but made the boy feel like it was a dream.
Louga grew up believing his own mother to being his guardian angel of some sort. And since the people of Npunga feared the priestess, they never venture with anything that concern the woman…. So no one could touch the boy, he was safe. When he reached puberty, she gave him a flute and taught him how to play, and equipped him with the basic combatting skills of the creed.
The flute is her Bluetooth to the boy, if he plays the flute the mother will hear…. kaya heard how beautifully the boy played in the grand hall of Zanka, and it brought tears to her eyes….
The knowledge bestowed on kaya by her predecessor adding up to her own abilities made her dreadlocks grew grey in a short spun of time. However, her skin never wrinkled, it was smooth and vibrant in youthful buoyance; yes, kaya felt younger than ever, both in the physical and spiritual.
......…
Ever since kaya set eyes on Jhanka on the day of his arrival at Npunga with the white woman; she had begun to have flashes of a forgotten memory…. When Jhanka was speared down and Ghandaa was compelled to relate the crimes, he had committed against Zanka and the crown prince, the story, places and names all did something to the forgetful mind of kaya. She was struggling now to remember, the veil blocking her from knowing the truth about her own past was so strong it made her develop a migraine.
The name Tygon kept recurring in her mind till she remembers, she remembers; yes, she loves the man, she sobs softly for the first time in a very long time, the pain was so intense, the memories where blurry. only their unique love for each other stood out, it took a courageous man like Tygon to love an eccentric woman like her... only Jhanka remains a puzzle, who is the man? She was busy saving Jhankas life and she didn't hear the full narration of Ghandaa. The truth lays before her eyes yet, the sealing her mind from the it is impregnable.
Why is it so hard to remember?
