Kumta is not a clan or a kingdom; the origin of kumta came as a result of trade. A hub for the four main tribes of Cygon. A place where people can simply meet and share goods and services, a place of learning and sharing knowledge, place children of Cygon settled their disputes, a heterogeneous mixture of all four tribes and everything in between and that is a lot of coverage, a free land for free spirits, where nothing prevailed nothing.
In kumta there is no royalty, no king or ruler, no slave or master until recent, where slave trade becomes lucrative for all parties involve, voluntarily; slaves comes to the market in search of worthy masters and masters accepts worthy slaves that have specific skills in specific areas and are willing to serve. In Cygon slaves are not scorn, a slave has the sole power to choosing a master.
As kumta begin to increase in population; a complex society begun to evolved, giving birth to a few fundamental codes out of which general accepted ways of doing things came into being.
Being a free state attracted all caliber of people to the place. Mostly powerful men who come to kumta for higher learning of a covert nature, and they amass so much knowledge in different fields, especially mystical knowledge.
Power breed more power, a higher order, something to look up to; the people ideal, the ideal protects and guarantee security….. this is what the people wanted all along; they want to be controlled, they want to follow something, they want to believe in something greater, a common believe in a common good.
kumta became a land of the elite in Cygon where for centuries; it trained the best warriors not only in arms, but in witticism and mysticism. Men strong in the mind, body and spirit. Jhanka was such a student, sent there at an early age, where he first met the mystic, who thought him things not prone to ordinary men.
When the people of kumta looked around for a higher order to lead them, as if finally waking up from a slumber, they found out that the brotherhood was already playing the role so well the people didn't even know until now. The power of kumta had become so great; it became a threat to Zanka and all four tribes of Cygon.
Independently, the brotherhood created a secret powerful structure that turned inward, and never gives nothing away. It never threatens for any power or control in Cygon; but their services turn to secretly revolutionize how Cygon was govern. They became so powerful to the extent that, all four tribes started paying tribute and tax in a form of offering to the spiritual order.
Only Tygon seems to be wiry of these people in his time; he is the supreme king of Cygon and need not pay this mix blood any dime in yellow stone value. The bastards had to be paying him, Tygon the king of Cygon. This was a mistake made by one of his ancestors, who was weak in the bloodline, and all his descendants have to follow suit; Zanka now pledge allegiance to a state without name…. Zanka need no protection from no one, the order is using spirituality and religion as a cover to amass more power….
The constant defiance of Tygon, pose a threat to the brotherhood, they were a peaceful order after all; the man doesn't only acknowledge them, he wanted the whole order that was as ancient as Zanka destroyed because he feared someday they will rule Cygon, and Zanka will lose its power.
"…. what a waist, Tygon made a terrible mistake, coming at the brotherhood head on, the man could've been a little prudent" Naaga thought as the carriage he was in approaches the gates of kumta….
...........
Up on the tower on the mountain stood a hairless man in a black clock, looking nimble and dainty on his five-foot five stature, standing astride with hands folded behind his back like an old monk. Yes, an old man he is, but most of his brothers don't know that. he looked like forty-five at hundred. No, hundred and seven to be precise. From where he stood, his brown hawk eyes misses nothing down below. he can see kumta spread wide in all four cardinal directions into the forest and beyond.
He saw the carriage stop at the gates and Naaga alighted, and started walking through kumta, it will take him sometime to reach the gates of the brotherhood itself, by that time he will be there to receive him.
For centuries his bloodline has sacrifice their lives to the course of the brotherhood, and have excelled in their endeavor. And it's now his turn to stir the course of this noble order. His ancestors had never planned to rule Cygon in their time, to them; kumta was simply a sanctuary, a place of refuge, for the weak and oppress.
But times have change; to have your neighbor see you as a threat, means they are a threat, and only one neighbor must come out victorious for the other to bow a knee. Tygon had to die, like his father before him…. It's time for kumta to take the reins of power in Cygon, except he never expected it to be this easy…. Now there is no one to stop him.
He had worked long and hard. And Had think things through pure observation. Sagacity in any form is nothing but worthless if it doesn't evolve with the times, and the order can't help but it had its finger to the wind, updated in time and far seeing.
With information and the right intelligence, one can rule all the kingdoms, and he had creed assassins in all the kingdoms. In essence; this secret order has rule Cygon in a much subtly way not so obvious to even the most watchful eye. So any king who tend to be a little watchful, has to be handled permanently.
the man started his descent down the tower to meet with Naaga; all he wants to know from the assassin is whether Kidzar had any interest in the throne of Zanka? The king of Wagara is no fool, but the smell of power appeals to greed. Power, as he had come to learn in his long existence; had a way of making men act in unpredictable ways.
.........…..
Naaga sat on a carved stone marble in the dark chamber with eyes blindfolded, waiting for the master to give him the signal to speak…. He waited patiently waiting for the exhale of breath from the master to start speaking, he heard it; and he started
"the order lives on" Naaga said and continue "king Kidzar wish not to play puppet, to him it is was a personal vendetta…. But a most disturbing news of a peculiar kind had arisen. A white one had been spotted in Npunga with Jhanka the crown prince of Zanka who was supposed to be dead in the forbidden flames. He is said to have died again by the hand of Ghandaa. But it is no certain he died. As to whether Ghandaa is dead or alive, it not certain either."
When Naaga was done talking he handed the small bag filled with yellow stone, to whoever step forward to take it from his hand, and handed back over to him half of the weight of yellow stone in a similar bag.
Silently the master sat still, and didn't utter a word, he simple draw breath in, creating a hissing sound, and Naaga stood up and leave, the command was clear, for now he should do nothing, his information has been accepted as accurate and his efforts are appreciated, he exhaled in relief, and exit the chamber.
The master then stood up and walked into another dark chamber adjoining the previous one. "war is coming as you depicted; and we are more than ready" the master said to the shrinking old man on the bed with a pale skin…. The man was so old he found it difficult to open his mouth to speak; "be careful what you wish for my boy…. Thou are in the wrong, not even a vulture will feed on its unhatched eggs, our power is to protect and nurture Cygon, to control and rule without ever showing it, and that my boy, is true power…. Perchance; thou actions will raise kumta to great repute or bring it down to its knees…." The old man said and started to cough.
"we are at logger heads with these people, we either take the opportunity now, or wait for our doom, the old days are over, the threat started not even with Tygon but his grandfather…. How long shall we wait for Zanka to bring an end to our great legacy?" the master replied to the old man and continued "your peaceful days are over oh great father of my father, thou witness what they did to your son, my father, he has been good to this people…. but…."
The old man waves a bony hand in dismissal. "don't say of things thou have no knowledge about, your father died a natural death Kay…. And …" he never finished the sentence…. The master couldn't take it anymore from the old man… he wouldn't die in peace, but was becoming a nuisance, a persistent thorn in his flesh… he drew closer and place both hands around the neck of the old man and squeeze with all his might.
the final look of his grandfather in his last breath will be with Kayata till his last day in Cygon… but he didn't mind, he did the man a favor sending him to his grave. Having the man around will be a distraction anyway, and Kayata needed a clear mind now more than ever. He stepped out of the room and order the brother on watch by the door to go and inform the funeral team to start the last rights of his grandfather, Yohany the ancient one.
