Chapter 12 - Groups of Soldiers

After Eric Romano was taken to the medical room, the ceremony was stopped because all the students needed to meditate to heal.

'Mmm.'

People were curious to know what would happen to Eric, who vomited blood from his mouth, but the attention of the Bloody Apollo Guardian was elsewhere. The first rank, Wen Shan of the Wen Clan, and the fifth rank Ye Xuan of the Ye Clan had endured the first test as if nothing had happened.

They are beyond expectations.

Not taking any damage from Han Soyou's mid-power attack would require at least hundreds of internal energy.

They are beyond the level of the students.

They were already at the level of powerful warriors. It is obvious why the rumor spread that the Wen and Ye clans would take the city of Indefinite Paradise.

However, they were not the only ones who resisted it without suffering any damage. The other members of the five clans endured it without much trouble, and there were also eight other students who also endured it.

'I thought everyone was weak, but this is interesting. '

It seemed that there might be powerful warriors in this year's academy. All in all, that was going to be decided after four years when it was all over.

A total of 450 students passed the first test. It was 6,000 less than the first test ten years ago, as the test had been more difficult due to Eric Romano.

Not everyone knew, but some of the students who looked back like Wen Shan were angry at seeing the intensity of the test because of Eric.

After dragging the failed students, all the remaining students were officially designated as demon soldiers, and each received a tag with a number, symbolizing that they were now demonic soldiers of the Demonic Academy.

"Is this the beginning now?!"

"I'll go to the top!"

Then the students began to divide into groups. Apollo grouped them according to their personal information and test result. In addition to the five groups of 25, the other remaining groups had 30 people.

"Do you know why there are twenty groups?"

"No, Lord!"

The soldiers answered 'No, Lord' to Apollo's question. This was due to instructions to answer with 'Yes/No, Lord' for any answer that required a 'yes' or 'no'. No other responses were allowed.

"Until they pass the third test, they will all be tested on the same day and at the same time."

The academy had no intention of spending money on training until the third step which was for high-ranking warriors. Therefore, they had a fixed amount of time allotted for each of the tests.

"The amount you need to learn the ways of a demon soldier is three weeks."

'Only three weeks? '

The soldiers were frustrated. They were shocked by the unexpectedly fast pace.

"After three weeks, the 20 groups will go to Monte Oscuro and will have to survive 2 years. Only ten groups will be able to move on to the next step."

This meant that two hundred people were going to fail.

"This is the only and final test they will have to work on together, so if you want to compete against yourself within the group, you can happily fail the test and leave."

Most of the groups were equally formed, but there were some groups with a smaller number of students from the powerful clans. Therefore, they were not so excited.

"This ends today's program. They can return to their dormitories according to their groups and rest. Starting tomorrow, the staff standing in front of you at this time will teach you very well."

The students then turned to their instructors who were standing there expressionlessly. When they saw the staff members pull out the failed students by hitting them with their black clubs hanging from their waists, the students shuddered.

"You are fired!"

"FIRED!"

The students then returned to their assigned dormitories. However, one of the students stayed in place while everyone left with exhausted expressions. It was Wen Shan of the Wen Clan. Instructor Peng, who was assigned to Wen Shan's eighth group, walked towards him, "third soldier. Why are you still standing there?"

Until the students passed the fourth test, they were called by their numbers.

"I have a question to ask you, Instructor."

"You know I won't answer questions that aren't related to training."

"Yes, sir."

The instructors did not know all the names and faces of their students, but at least they knew about the princes of the six clans, since they were to be the future leaders of the Academy.

"Well. What's the question?"

"I'm sure I'll be the leader of my group."

'Mmm.'

This was not announced because it would be decided tomorrow, but Wen Shan already knew that they were going to have group leaders.

They don't care about rules.

He knew that the five clans would not keep secrets to their young masters regarding the academy, but it was quite disappointing to see it in reality.

"One of the soldiers in my group, the seventh soldier, is in the medical room."

"And?"

"I don't want one of our soldiers to be left out or missing for our whole group to fail."

"What are you proposing?"

"I want to let him know what we heard today while he wasn't there, so he wouldn't be left out."

He thought that the five young masters didn't like Eric, but it seemed that Wen Shan was different. Peng took pleasure and nodded, "Good. I applaud you for your sincerity, and you seem to know the importance of this second test. So, I will follow your advice and go to the seventh soldier and give him the information myself."

"Huh? N-no, that won't be necessary. I can go myself..."

"The main building is out of reach of soldiers, except under special circumstances."

Wen Shan became frustrated.

'Damn! This is bullshit! '

His purpose was to go to Eric Romano and break his leg or something, but he didn't think he wouldn't be allowed to enter the building at all. He tried to imply that he was the heir to one of the five clans, but realized that his background did not apply in this academy and gave up.

"Understood, Instructor. Oh, and can you tell me when the 7th soldier will return?

Then he had to wait until Eric came back.

Around dinner time, Instructor Peng went to Eric Romano's medical room as promised. Eric was in self-healing mode and was asleep. Peng couldn't wake up Eric, who was seriously injured, and asked Cain how long it would take to wake up.

"Mmm. You will need at least two weeks in bed. "

"Two weeks? It will be too long for him to advance to the second step. Can't wake up earlier? "

Peng didn't like the idea of letting his group fail because of a student. It was survival for the students, but it was a competition for the instructors.

"Well, he has almost no internal energy, so it takes time."

Peng then had to leave knowing that Eric Romano would take two weeks to heal.

'Well, he's out of luck.' He thought Eric Romano was unlucky, but then he learned that it was not true.

The next day, someone entered the medical room before dawn. Ramish was the Guardian of Peace.
