I suck in cold air as I stare down to my death. "Lucy, hold on", Sara's voice breaks as she tries to pull me up but my weight keeps pulling her down. I shake my head softly with tears threatening to fall" Sara, let me go...pls". she holds my hand even tighter now.
"Lucy...(sniffs) you can't do this to me, just hold on I'll pull you up".
"Sara, look at you your face is swollen from crying, you can't hold me up forever....if we waste anymore time you'll fall with me". tears trail down from my eyes.
crying.."Lucy you're my friend, my lover I can't let you go, I love you". she pulls me up with hope but my weight once again fails to go with the plan.
sniff....."just to think, if I was woken up this morning and was told that my best friend and I would come to the woods seeking thrills, found a cliff and now, hanging from it with fear and only few minutes to death, I would laugh so loudly, and yet here we are. Sara I've wanted nothing but good for you, to become that brain scientist and save lives and create robots and AI's but you can't do those things by trying to pull me up forever cause eventually my weight will pull us both, let me go knowing the fact that you'll be what you've always wanted to be". I take a deep breath..sigh..I want to enjoy it while it's still here.
"no Lucy I can't get any of those things without you beside me, I want it to be us both either we live or we die, together right. you said you'll never leave and that we would stay and we'll grow old to be grumpy grannies together right?, you promised me that didn't you". her tears starts to get thick.
I shake my head"Sara I'll never leave you I love you".
I scratch her with my nails, her reflexes kick in and she jerks off. all I hear are her screams as I fall freely into the water. slowly slowly I can hear my.....o..wn...hea..rt.beat.
