Things that should not occur, things that cannot be explained by logic, absurd things that make you doubt your eyes; if one comes across a being that creates unexplainable situations, what would be the best word to describe him?
Not only was Adam able to unlock the first gate, he also performed high-level techniques that someone who had only unlocked the first gate wouldn't normally be able to perform. Furthermore, he had never seen Raoul perform these techniques before, but he was able to perfectly execute them after reading about them only once in the book Raoul gave him.
This feat left Raoul, his master, shocked and bewildered. As they stood together, looking at the half-cut tree, Raoul couldn't help but marvel at the boy's abilities.
"Just what are you?" Raoul asked, still trying to grasp the situation.
"I guess I still have a long way to go," Adam replied, disappointment etched on his face as he gazed at the tree.
Raoul noticed the boy's disappointment and shook his head. "For the tree to be this damaged, it means that your core is strong enough to rival that of a first circle Meister. Do you realize how strong you are? This kind of power for someone as young as you is something that defies all logic," Raoul said, his eyes locked with Adam's.
Adam flushed with embarrassment, "Is Master complimenting me?" he asked with a cheeky smile.
"I guess I am," Raoul replied a hint of pride in his voice.
"Thank you for your consideration, Master," Adam said, bowing politely.
"Now, I must resume my training. I can't fall behind a brat like you," Raoul said, a glint in his eye.
"What should I do next, Master?" Adam asked, eager to continue his training.
"Just continue with the same routine. Until you are strong enough to cut a tree in one shot," Raoul replied, pointing to the half-cut tree.
Adam clenched his fist and yelled, "Yes, Master!"
~About 1km away High up in a tree~
The situation was tense and grave, as someone watched from the branches of a towering tree. This person was shrouded in mystery, with a face set in a scowl, observing the scene below. "It's getting more complicated, Lukia," the mysterious figure muttered, his gaze fixated on the tree next to him.
"Indeed, it's quite troubling," came a voice from within the tree.
"What should we do?" the man asked, his tone steeped in uncertainty. Suddenly, a strange occurrence took place, as someone emerged from within the tree as if stepping through a door.
"I believe it's time to take care of the situation before it spirals out of control," Lukia said with a smirk, his eyes alight with a dark gleam.
"Don't you remember? We can't interfere directly," Petra, the man who had emerged from the tree, pointed out.
"What are you so afraid of, Petra? He's gone, isn't he?" Lukia asked a hint of amusement in his voice.
"We can never be too sure. We must be as discreet as possible," Petra warned.
Lukia let out a sinister laugh. "I have a plan. I know just what we can do."
"Do tell," Petra said, his curiosity piqued.
"It'll take a bit of time to set up, but if we do it right, we won't even have to lay a hand on this disgusting halfbreed," Lukia said with a smile, before disappearing back into the tree.
"I trust your judgment, Lukia. I know you won't let me down," Petra said before he too vanished as if he had never been there.
The scene was shrouded in mystery, with only the swaying branches of the tree to suggest anything had ever taken place. But what was the plan, and who was the halfbreed that they were so concerned about?
