"Sir, we're under a time crunch. Perhaps you could go to the airport first, and Xiaole could bring Miss Su to meet you later?" Bai Chen proposed, on tenterhooks.
No matter what, one should never postpone important tasks because of a woman, especially not in such a critical moment.
However, Ye Qilan seemed oblivious to Bai Chen's words. He yelled downstairs, "Xiaole, get somebody here to open the door. Hurry up!"
Bai Chen was at a loss. Ye Qilan's reaction made him realize that it was pointless to persuade him.
Xiaole was efficient. He brought a few men in less than ten minutes. The group struggled for a short while before finally barging the door open.
Ye Qilan dashed to the bedside, ready to lose his temper. But as he caught sight of Su Hongxing's emotionless eyes, all his rage dissipated instantly in the face of her tranquillity.
"Let's go, we're running out of time," Ye Qilan said in the gentlest tone possible.
