Chapter 16 - Chapter 15 Q&A

Hi, everyone! We've reached quite the milestone - big 15! To celebrate the fifteenth chapter of Dragon Ball GB, I decided to do a Q&A chapter to answer some questions about my story. These have been sourced from multiple places, including ChatGPT. Don't ask why.

Questions from ChatGPT:

1. What is your process for writing and editing your chapters, and how do you decide when a chapter is ready to be published?

2. Are there any particular scenes or moments in your story that were especially challenging or rewarding to write?

3. How do you plan out the overall arc of your story, and how do you ensure that individual chapters contribute to that arc?

4. Are there any other authors or works that have influenced your writing style or storytelling?

5. What can readers expect from future chapters of your story, and how do you envision the story concluding?

Answers: My process for writing and editing chapters involves re-reading the original story, writing down my ideas, and if it's not long enough to constitute the length of one chapter, I use a certain chatbot to help me write it out. When writing fight scenes, I occasionally go to a specific fight in Dragon Ball Full Color and take some inspiration from that when describing battles. Sometimes I'll take out my Viz BIG for the Freeza arc or my Kanzenban volume for the Boo arc and look for fight inspiration there (ex: 2nd Form Freeza vs Piccolo or SSJ3 Goku vs Fat Boo). I also don't publish chapters when I finish them; I post them every Monday at 7AM. There are times when I've fucked up the timing by releasing it about an hour late, like with chapter 8. My favorite fight to write was probably Super Saiyan 3 Baezel vs Max Power Super Human Draft. It was kinda like Goku vs Freeza in a way. As for planning my story - I don't! I mostly make shit up as I go along and refine it myself. I guess Toriyama inspired my writing style. in the future, readers can expect the characters to get ever more powerful, and the stakes to get ever higher.

Questions from MoistGuy:

1. What's his favorite shoe brand?

2. What's his sexuality?

3. Would he kiss a man for 5,000 burgers?

4. Can he beat the current versions of Piccolo, Gohan or any of the Z Fighters?

5. Can he defeat the movie villains and the Dragon Ball Z villains (Vegeta, Freeza, 17 and 18, Cell, Majin Boo)?

6. How strong is Lemogras?

Answers:

1. His favorite shoe brand is Mizuno, a very popular brand in Japan.

2 and 3. The guy's straight, and he might kiss a man for food - if he knew no one would ever know, of course.

4. Baezel would definitely defeat the Earthlings and Gotenks, has a small chance of defeating Majin Boo, but would lose to 17, 18 and the Saiyans.

5. Yes, he could defeat every single one of the Z villains and Z movie villains, but would get folded like an insect against Beerus, Golden Freeza, DBS Broly, the Gammas and Cell Max.

6. Lemogras at this point is about equal to Boo arc Goku.

Questions from Athie:

1. Would Baezel simp for another girl if he had the chance, despite his marriage?

2. Are any of your OCs non-violent or passive?

3. Does his family have a significant part in the story?

4. What do they do in your story? Or have they already done something significant so far?

5. Is your story supposedly more comedic? Or a more...er, story-based story (episodic if not etc.)

Answers: It's nice hearing questions from a real-life friend! Anyways, to answer your questions -

1. At the beginning of the story, he might have. But as he grew older and wiser, the likelihood would go down.

2. I guess Dana and Okara could be considered non-violent, as neither of them have a fondness for martial arts like their father/husband and son/brother do.

3. His family does indeed play a significant part in the story, especially Lemogras; Baezel probably would've died to Parakress without Lemogras's help.

4. They mainly help Baezel get stronger and motivate him to continue to aspire towards martial arts. And Lemogras has actually performed quite the significant feat outside of the novel - in Dragon Ball GB: The Movie, for which a link to it can be found at the end of chapter 6, his rage boost and him going Super Saiyan 2 helped give Baezel, Radichio and Draft the final push they needed to kill Nori.

5. I personally think it rarely features comedy. You're more likely to find instances of Radichio insulting someone than a straight-up joke.

Question from Icey:

1. How powerful were both methods of fusion for Baezel and Radichio?

Answers: Like I said in chapter 12 or 13, the fusion dance takes the strongest shared transformation of the two (in this case, Super Saiyan 4), adds it together, then multiplies it by 3 to make the fusion's base form. However, the Potara Earrings take the strongest possible transformation they have, adds it together, and then multiplies it by 100 to make the fusion's base. Thus, Baechio is way stronger than Radizel.

Welp, that's all I've got for you guys! If you had any questions for me, just leave them in the comments and I'll get to them eventually. For now, see ya!
