Ye Si looked at him with a puzzled expression. "Can't we eat when we get back to the hotel? We'll be there soon."
"No." Xi Zhimo raised his hand to show her his watch. "It's already half past one. It's way past my lunch time."
"Alright. Then let's just grab some grub on this street." Ye Si turned her head away helplessly.
Xi Zhimo parked the car by the side of the road, and the two of them walked side by side down the streets of the small city. The streets were not bustling, and from time to time, enthusiastic shouts could be heard from the eateries lining the street.
Xi Zhimo stopped in his tracks and looked inside a small noodle shop. The pregnant female shop owner was focused on wiping the sweat off the male shop owner. The man tilted his head and smiled, saying contentedly, "Thank you, my dear wife. Go and sit down. Don't tire yourself out."
This was a heartwarming atmosphere that he had never once experienced in his 27 years of life.
