Chapter 113 - Chapter 113

The battle began with the crackle of lightning. Soaring through the air like a horizontal lightning bolt, Arashi spread purple light wherever he went, his heel crashing into the chin of the King of Titans.

Shooting up into the air the King of Titan's head was tilted back, an ominously excited grin on his face with blood leaking from his lips for all of a few seconds. Moving just half a heat later, GasBalor's shadowy tendrils extended forward like voracious beasts.

Latching on the Titan's body, razor sharp teeth grew from its wisp like form before sinking into the King's flesh. Enduring the pain without so much as a groan Chronos flexed his muscles, the shadowy tendrils trapping him straining fiercely.

"I won't let you." Arashi's voice was slightly distorted by the divinity coasting through his veins but that hardly mattered when compared to the monstrous dhampir he fought with. Leaning into his more eldritch nightmare side GasBalor's body morphed horrifically.

Standing at nearly ten meters tall with arms as thick as tree trunks he was a monster in both size and appearance, his arm splitting into dozens of smaller tendrils that wrapped around the Titan King's body.

Taking advantage of his chance Arashi pummeled the King, bruising covering the king's body and blood shooting from his growing number of wounds. And yet, Arashi wasn't punching nearly as hard as he could be.

Don't get him wrong, he'd love nothing more than to pummel the shit out of a former chief god but he didn't want to risk another switch happening. However, if there was any level of communication between him and GasBalor it would be quickly revealed that such a thing wasn't a worry any longer.

GasBalor was in many ways the ideal form of both beings. The knowledge and experience of the God and the regeneration and talent of the dhampir. Because of that mixture, GasBalor found it easier to stop any and all attempts at manipulating time.

"Arashi!" Shouting in both warning and worry GasBalor just barely stopped the scythe flying through the air long enough for Arashi to take a step back. The scythe was badly damaged, to the point of disrepair even, but its malevolent aura was still impossible to miss.

"Ah, there you are." Speaking to the weapon like one would a pet Chronos gripped its handle, the rust and damage instantly melting away as though it was shedding its skin. Even in his damaged state, Chronos felt more dangerous than ever before with that weapon in hand.

In a brief flash, that instinct was proven to be true as Gasper found himself split down the middle without even a chance to retaliate. His shadowy halves reached for one another in a desperate attempt to regenerate but they were cut into small chunks before that could even hope to happen.

"Your meddling has grown bland bat." With nigh infinite disdain in his voice Chronos barely even glanced at the disintegrating mass of darkness. Balor was a powerful god but he couldn't compare to Chronos, the only reason such a thing was possible was because Chronos was operating at a portion of his true strength.

Manipulating time was a difficult ordeal without the assistance of a foculi. In the case of Balor that was his eyes and in the case of Chronos it was his scythe. Without them, their control would be nothing more than paltry tricks.

"…!" With widened eyes Arashi was beyond surprised at how quickly the situation had been turned around but he quickly ignored it. Gasper had potent regeneration so all he could was pray that Gasper would heal quickly enough.

"Your hope is misplaced, Son of Storms. There is no healing from Harpe's wounds." Dashing his opponent's hope with childish glee Chronos resolved himself to be patient from this moment forward. He had no intention to kill GasBalor just yet, it was an honest accident.

"Doubt it." Striking Chronos in the chest, Arashi's hand penetrated deep into the titan's flesh dozens of times in the blink of an eye. In that blink of an eye though, Chronos managed to 'revert' the timeline once again.

"Come now, have a little patience, mongrel. I'll give you one last chance at life so entertain me. I won't move from here so showing a sight deserving of your blood." It was a foolish problem but Chronos hardly cared, he would endure because he believed he could and he would play around for the same reason.

"You're going to regret it." Despite making that promise with an extraordinarily dissatisfied face Arashi was actually quite glad. He was running on static, he wouldn't last much longer. Maybe it was because of that lack of energy that he chose to do something quite foolish.

Eating yet another Rumble Ball without hesitation his body instantly screamed in anguish, his bones cracking and squeaking as his blood literally boiled. One Rumble Ball was already bad news for his body, adding another on top of it was suicide.

Gathering the lightning surrounding his body into one stable shape was difficult and condensing it was even worse so Arashi extended it. The spear of lightning grew and grew until finally, it towered over both himself and the mountains of bones around them.

"Mount Kita." Chanting the name of his attack Arashi pulled back his arm, the spear pointed at Chronos with a horrifying amount of power emanating from it. Chronos had agreed to endure the strike but he was no fo. That attack rivaled those of the Top Ten Strongest albeit in a limited capacity. Even he would die faced with such a strike.

"What a shame." Shaking his head in disappointment at Arashi, Chronos raised his weapon. It was such a shame that Arashi had too much talent for his own good. The King of Titans had planned on giving him a few strikes but Arashi's talent had proven to be his downfall.

When Arashi threw the spear it shattered the sound barrier dozens of times, the air itself melting as it passed by. Raising his scythe above his head Chronos prepared to pick a better timeline, one where that dangerous spear didn't exist.

"..!" But never in his wildest dreams did Chronos expect to find himself trapped in time itself. Him, the KING of time, had been trapped in time! It was as impossible as space vanishing and yet it had happened!

All the King of Time could manage was turning his head, his hate filled eyes locking onto GasBalor's crimson irises. It was a miracle among miracles that GasBalor had survived, however, that wasn't quite the truth. His survival had been no miracle.

To a manipulator of time, the domain was both foreign and familiar. The concept of freezing time was not lost to them but it was for that reason almost none had entered the domain before. For those who do however the secrets of time would reveal themselves to them.

Chronos had never seen those truths, how could he? What could possibly push him into opening the domain? Gasper however was weak, battered and bruised, and pushed to his limits. His opening of the domain had been no coincidence.

"Y-You bastard! How dare—" Chronos' shouts were interrupted by his existence vanishing, the body held together by the divinity of death killed by Arashi's storm and the soul containing the essence of time devoured by GasBalor's darkness.

It was a fitting end for the King of Time who played with fire so often. His arrogance had burned him and now he had experienced defeat for the second time. Collapsing the two youths immediately passed out before a group of cubes whisked them away.

They needed rest but their battle wasn't over. Hades was still alive.
