Chapter 26 - Chapter 26

"Who?" Ingvild questioned, her voice weak from centuries of her lifeforce being stolen. Even if Damian was temporarily supplementing her it was impressive that she could even wake up at all though her lineage surely had something to do with it.

"I am Damian Thaumiel but we can save the introductions. To make things short, you have the sleeping disease, we're in your soul, I woke you up for a few minutes, and to wake you up permanently I need to make you my Queen to awaken your sacred gear." Damian explained calmly yet quickly

"Uhh… is this a proposal?" Ingvild questioned, her words slightly slurred. Even if she had been woken up temporarily her soul wasn't still fully awake. In truth, what he was doing was similar to asking for consent from a drugged woman but his morals forced him to do this at the very least.

Call it naivety but he didn't want to force her into anything if he could help it. Her agreement may not be truly sincere but it was still something he needed to take the next step. Truth be told, if he didn't his mother would become a true devil.

"It is similar." Damian declared casually. Really they weren't similar at all but he wanted her to have a sense of severity. It was a lifelong contract between two or more individuals that could not be broken easily, or at all in this case.

"So to wake up I need to become your queen?" Ingvild asked once more, her eyes already struggling to stay open. It had only been a few seconds however for Damian's meager energy reserves he was spreading himself too far by not only entering her soul but also forcefully waking her up even if only temporarily.

"That's correct. While I'd rather you take your time, we really don't have the time to spare so please give me your answer." Damian spoke calmly albeit with a sense of urgency. He was already feeling the strain even if he minimized the loss of his demonic energy.

The soul wasn't something that could easily be touched, for him to do that despite his overall weak abilities was extremely taxing. Of course, his near absolute control made it much easier for him but it still was far from simple.

"Uh… sure?" Ingvild replied unsure, her eyes hazy with exhaustion before her eyes immediately closed. While it wasn't exactly the most confident answer it was the best Damian was going to get in this situation.

Stopping his body's creation of demonic energy for a moment, a feat only he could accomplish, he simply floated throughout the sphere as he waited for his body to run out of energy. He couldn't control his body while in Ingvild's soul so the best he could do was wait for himself to run out of energy.

Currently, he was the manifestation of his soul so he could stop its production of demonic energy temporarily but that didn't mean he could stop his physical body's use of it since technically the two weren't connected, at least not as strongly as they usually were.

His body was on full autopilot as it single mindedly followed his last conscious decision until the very last second. Normally such reckless use of his demonic energy would damage his body for a while but with his control, it was easily fixable.

"Man, I'm glad Serafall was here." Damian spoke to himself as he absentmindedly floated through Ingvild's soul. Right now while he was leisurely wasting time his body was completely unprotected and vulnerable.

Luckily, he had one of the four satans to protect him. It was unlikely that anyone would be able to hurt him since he was already in one of the most secretive places in the Underworld but the added protection wasn't a bad thing.

"Having the protection of a Satan really makes things easy." Damian spoke casually to himself, leisurely resting his hands behind his head. With his connection to Ajuka, the other three Satans would trust him to a certain degree as well.

After a few minutes, his figure began to lighten until he was completely see through, a telltale sign that his meager demonic energy reserves were finally running low. Realistically, without his control, he would have only lasted a few seconds in Ingvild's soul at most if he could even enter it so he felt quite good about having an entire few minutes.

His figure vanished from her soul as his consciousness and soul once more returned to his body where they belonged. Opening his eyes he immediately caught sight of two large sacks of flesh above him and the playful grin of one Serafall Leviathan.

"Did you sleep well Dia-chan☆?" Serafall asked playfully, a smirk stretching across her childish face. It didn't take a genius to understand where he was right now and it was a place that blood would be shed and lives lost to merely touch let alone sleep.

"Yes, but I think I'm going to sleep more." Damian declared teasingly, gently moving his body to 'get comfortable'. Currently, he was resting his head on the most illustrious 'bed' in this world, the lap of the current Satan Leviathan.

"Sorry, but that's not allowed☆!" Serafall proclaimed playfully, abruptly standing up and forcing Damian's head to follow the laws of gravity. Protecting his skull with his demonic energy there was no damage as his head hit the ground heavily.

"How cruel Lady Leviathan. And to think I thought highly of you." Damian proclaimed sadly, rising to his feet and dusting himself off while shaking his head in disappointment but there was a teasing glint in his golden eyes that clearly revealed his intentions.

"Since my reputation will hit rock bottom because of you, why don't I sin just one more time~☆?" Serafall asked him innocently, a thin icicle floating behind her filled with more demonic energy than Damian currently had.

"I apologize, please spare my meager life." Damian requested with an overly exaggerated and playful bow. It was a lie to say that Damian felt no fear in front of that magic spell that could kill him before he could blink but as any good showman has said, the show must go on.

"Then I shall graciously spare you☆." Serafall declared with faux arrogance and disdain before she could no longer hold back her laughter.
