Rivan Livan Lucifer was widely considered to be on the level of Sirzechs and Ajuka. While Damian could confidently say that was not correct it would also be wrong to say Rizevim was that far off.
While Sirzechs and Ajuka shared the number seven spot on the list of the strongest, Rizevim controlled the 12th spot for himself. He didn't quite make the cut into the fabled top ten, but he was far from a weakling.
"Is he dead?" Sirzechs asked, his eyes narrowed seriously. He didn't doubt Damian's capability when it came to ensuring he wouldn't escape but Rizevim was a man who personified the words chaotic and determined. It wouldn't be shocking if he took his own life if it created more chaos.
"No, but he may as well be." Damian replied with a small chuckle. What he had done was actually quite simple, he branded Rizevim's soul much like what he had attempted to do with Rias not too long ago albeit the two situations were on completely different scales.
With Rizevim it could be considered an absolute submission type of branding but with Rias, it fell more along the lines of gentle nudging toward the choice he wanted her to take. It had other benefits but in this case, it functioned as unbreakable prison for Rizevim.
"I branded his soul, he'll have no choice but to listen to commands." Damian continued, a look of both wariness and contemplation crossing their faces. Very few supernatural beings dealt with the soul so such a thing was almost impossible to find unless they looked for it specifically.
With Rizevim it was fine, he was a good spy and would act as a wonderful informant, but who was to say Damian didn't use it on other people as well? It wasn't something to act on now, but it was a worry to keep in mind.
"As of now, I've sent him to gather data logs for us to use and to inform me of any future plans as well. Of course, I'll share the information with you all as well." Manifesting a magic circle a pile of papers appeared in front of Sirzechs, Azazel, and Michael.
To some, it may seem foolish to give away the information so freely but Damian had no need for more wealth or political prestige. The Khaos Brigade was an issue that not even he could handle, not if he wanted to allow others to survive as well.
The Khaos Brigade spanned every faction in the world no matter how small. Damian himself could challenge the world and come out relatively unscathed but that wasn't the same for everyone around him. Even before Rias gave him a wake up call he wouldn't have done that.
Despite the change in attitude he actually didn't alter his plan all that much. Following his original plan he would have destroyed the Khaos Brigade with a collective effort of as many factions as he could muster and then wear the crown.
Following that, he would act as the stabilizer for the Underworld for the rest of time. Of course, now that he was aware that Satan had already taken over that role, there was no longer any need for that. Rias had made that fact very clear.
"They even managed to get angels? They're like rodents." Breaking the silence Azazel was the first to speak, his surprise palpable. Certain factions such as the fallen, devils, and the Greeks were to be expected, but the angels? That was a surprise.
"Indeed. It seems I've been complacent." Sighing Michael's halo drooped slightly much like a dog's ears. All of the angels were low rank, between one or two pairs of wings on average, and yet they were his siblings. He hadn't stopped them from taking the wrong path.
"We all have. I didn't expect them to reach so far…" Much like Michael, the frown on Sirzechs was filled with regret as his eyes focused on one name alone. Riser Phenex, the largest supporter of the Khaos Brigade among the devils.
Years ago, Riser Phenex had been the rising star of the devils. But now, he was just a shell of himself. Ragged and worn down, his golden hair had become a pale shade of yellow and his eyes were empty. It was only his indulgence in women and drugs that remained the same.
It was only natural that he would change after going from the highest of highs to the lowest lows but Sirzechs hadn't expected him to fall so far. His actions weren't just betraying the devils, it was betraying his family as well. To the current Lucifer, that was irredeemable.
"Since it's show and tell time, I've got a few things to hand out as well." Breaking apart the solemn atmosphere, a vial of clear liquid appeared in Azazel's hands. "Vali found this while raiding one of our strays. It forcefully awakens a person's balance breaker."
"That's an issue…" Murmuring softly Michael's frown only deepened. Balance Breakers were extremely dangerous but their rarity rendered them unimportant. However, the existence of this drug would catch them by surprise and pose a great danger to them.
"That's not the half of it. Kokabiel snorted some similar stuff which would explain why he was so out of it. No offense to you kids, but raw power isn't enough to win. Not unless you're a monster like him." Lazily motioning toward Damian, Azazel's infuriating grin was in full force.
"That's hardly surprising. He was fairly… stupid to put it bluntly." Rias spoke seriously. While Kokabiel had been a dangerous opponent he didn't fight smart. His attacks were straightforward and telegraphed, their only saving grace being their power and area of effect.
"I take it this drug has some sort of cost?" Michael inquired further, effortlessly forcing the conversation back on track. These kinds of things almost always had a cost and while mental capability seemed to be one the more the better.
"Oh yeah. I wouldn't touch this thing with a hazmat suit let alone inject it. Boy wonder over there may know more about it but it seems like it uses the soul as fuel." Azazel revealed seriously, a disgusted glint in his eye as he tossed it to Damian.
"For people like Kokabiel, they could probably get away with it for an hour or so at best but for most, they'd only last minutes tops." Quickly scanning the vial with his energy Damian swiftly came to a conclusion, a good one at that.
The size of the soul wasn't stagnant so more powerful people would get more benefits from the drug but with such a short timeframe it was obvious why Azazel called it experimental. In actuality, that was too kind for it. A failure would be the better word.
But, a failure was meant to be improved upon. If they waited too long, the drug may be complete and when that happened all hell would break loose.
