Chapter 18 - Title at End

Distance, the length of the space between two points but in a place like the void they were all in, the concept of distance had become irrelevant.

The constellation still shone brightly over the heads of everyone regardless of how much they rushed forward. They just couldn't seem to close to distance.

"Something has distorted the space here so the concept of distance is in disarray," appearing beside Amore with Vasilias, Rian answered the question he saw in her eyes.

"We either need to travel along the spatial lines that connect the two points or use enough power to stabilize the space around us and make our own path."

*Rumble*

Waves surged through space, pushing everyone away from the Mastiga that had turned the surrounding 100 meters into a ghastly cemetery filled with blank tombstone," the early bird catches the worm as you humans like to say." Shooting a look of provocation at Amore, he soared into the distance, getting closer to the constellation.

Hair bristled and a smile on her face, Vasilias, Rian and the 100 meters around them were engulfed in a rose garden, "I hope you aren't for show, Mastiga!"

The others watched as one black and purple beam sliced through space as they approached the shining stars, many within the crowd didn't understand the phenomenon of what they saw but for those that did, it left a solemn look upon their face.

"Two have shown themselves and the others are likely to follow swiftly as well. This is our stage after all, doesn't mean we can't bring along others. Gather up."

The elves in the surrounding quickly gathered around Teresa who released her Expression to take her group with her to rush to the phoenix above.

Similar scenes quickly played out as one after another Expression was shown.

From afar it looked as if comets were tearing through the sky to join back the constellation from which they had fallen.

Unbeknown to them all though, a pair of eyes and a cunning chick was watching everything that took place.

*Chirp, Chirp, Chirp*

"They aren't half bad indeed, especially the few you have your eyes on. This should prove to be an interesting way to pass a little time."

*Chirp chirp*

"Quite down, another one is coming."

No sooner as those words were said, the space rippled like water as Thirio stepped through. Feeling lazy and tired of the theatrics, the being that was playing overseer simply used words formed by energy to explain the situation.

Thirio looked at the fading words with his unique nine pointed star flaring to life within his eyes, "the space here is in disarray, distance isn't as it should be, any ideas Vadne."

"Those eyes are pretty nifty if I do say so myself and pretty useful for our current problem. To pass through you'll need to put out enough power to stabilize the space you pass to rush above. The second option is to find the connecting points in space and travel along it and that's where those eyes of yours come in."

Thirio hadn't quite given his new ability a name yet as he hadn't fully figured out its full potential yet, all he knew was that they allowed his gaze to see the make up and interaction of energies especially if a form of astral energy was in the mix and in a place like this where astral energy was everywhere, nothing was hidden from him.

"I found it, let's go join the party and find my team."

Taking a step, left, right, left, then a step back. If anyone was watching Thirio move about randomly, he would have the appearance of a drunk stumbling but then the strangest thing happened, Thirio vanished, no indication or moving in space, he had just simply vanished leaving the area below the constellation empty once more.

"Hoo, now this is interesting, it seems this will be an even more exciting watch than I expected."

Black eyes opened once more, staring at the place Thirio vanished. They trembled slightly as a haze covered them; once the haze cleared the view within projected a fierce battle between apparitions wearing shining blue armors and the young men and women fighting for their lives.

At Least some of them were, "I like her, I like her very much, hahahahahaha."

_____

Going back to a few minutes before Thirio appeared.

Amore, and many others had rushed straight into the constellation, arriving in a world of brightly shining masses of origin energy interconnected to each other.

Though no energy seeped from the masses, no one doubted how powerful and beneficial it would be, so they all waited. They waited until someone could no longer contain their greed. After all, none of them here were idiots that wanted to pave the way for others' success.

Rian and Vasilias guarded Amore as she focused on recuperating her energy. They had understood their role from the very moment they were engulfed within her unique domain. They pushed their senses to the limit and had their Will active at all times.

Everyone knew the peace wouldn't last long so they made full use of it, the calm before the storm as they saw it but everyone had a limit as to how much they could endure and for many among those gathered here the temptation was too great.

Eyes bloodshot, an elf broke away from their group to rush towards a deep red mass of energy, mind filled with the power to be gained once the mass was within her possession.

Cold eyes, amused eyes, sad eyes, no one's eyes missed even her slightest action and while the emotion they colored every eye was different, it was without doubt that within this moment the elf had the attention of everyone within this space.

Fingers seconds away from making contact, they finally made contact as a sublime energy rushed into her body, so great was the energy that her skin flushed, 'it's finally mine..'

Hair standing on end, everyone retreated quickly, faster than many could see an apparition in deep red armor appeared and swung its blade.

*Slice*

The sound came minutes after the elf's body was reduced to a mist of blood floating within space.

"Was that five or six slashes, I could barely see them all before she obliterated."

Discussion exploded among everyone as they stared at the armored apparition but this was only the beginning.

As if a fuse was light, armored apparition started walking out from within all the masses in no set numbers, sometimes ten would walk out, other times three or four, as the number increased the air grew ever more oppressive with each new addition.

"I've made note of all the ones that stepped out by themselves and transferred the info to your terminals, avoid those ones for now," Rian transmitted to the others.

"I'll need you guys to protect me for a few more minutes before I'll be able to join the fight."

"Leave it to us, just focus on recovery, not one of them will make it through us," a awe inspiring momentum radiated from Vasilias at this moment. With his eyes focused on the army forming before him, his shadow expanded while his presence was magnified.

Amore nodded, this was the Vasilias that she respected, beneath all his perversion slumbered a man that had the right to tangle with the best of them. Now that she had put half a foot through that door, she could now sense the formidable power that slept within the man, No!

The angel of death before her.

Battle-lust rising, Amore quickly pulled back her thoughts to focus on recovering as quickly as possible, ' that was close,' she thought.

*Boom*

A blast landed in the middle of the army of apparition and like a well oiled machine starting up, they locked onto the enemies before them. No heed was paid to the few that were lost from the still growing army.

"Hahahaha, fight, fight, every death will only strengthen me, now dance so I can enjoy the show HAHAHHAHA!!"

Seated safely within a sphere of energy, the Mastiga, the culprit of the attack watched the charging armored army with glee.

"That motherfucker."

"This isn't the time for that, form up around the Princess," grabbing the arm of the Elf that was about to charge out an elf with black hair and green eyes pulled the other back to their group to get ready to meet the enemy.

"Hey Rian, protect Amore for me," walking forward slowly, Vasillias shadow grew with every step as it slowly rose and creeped up to his shoulder before flaring out into the air.

"I embody the silence within the moments of growth and the silence in the moment of death for that is the freedom I give to you all. Now return back to the sweet embrace of nothing with me. Mu No O."

Space trembled as a supreme presence engulfed the place, inky shadows rose from the ground to engulf half the army within itself.

*Step, Step*

As if stepping on the heartbeat of all present, Vasilias each step echoed loudly with everyone's ear, for that presence he emitted was unmistakable to everyone present. Even the charging army stood rooted within making a move.

Such was the dignity afforded to the one slowly making his way to his battlefield, such was the power given to one that was recognized as..

"A Royal," some whispered.

-A Royal-
