Chereads / Marcel's Story / Chapter 2 - Prologue

Chapter 2 - Prologue

"In this life, where the races unite and the prejudice increases; and the land of greed conquers, the reincarnation shall appear," (The Prophecy, Page 7, The One)

The boy cries out for his mother, his voice echoed out by the raging warriors who run towards the battle and the casting of lions and flames. His tears drop down from his cheek and enter through the crevice of the sidewalk below. He walks and cries, the bloodshed of men surrounding him. The boy's ashy hair flooded around his face as he scurried around, tears still surrounding his eyes as he watched the people he looked up to be slain by the ones with the long ears. The boy ran towards his left and into the empty street, far from the gate and close to the exit of this city. He quickly jolted the way and turned his head as a snake appeared and bit the man next to him. The boy's tears were not being answered and he understood that he could not rely on crying anymore. It was absolutely useless.

As he reached the alley turning point he started panting from the heavy run he had just done. The screams were still aloud and the mages were trying their best to use their flames to keep the soldiers safe, even though they had weapons powered by the light it was useless against the being with the long ears. The one with beautiful blonde hair like his mother's, a sign of beauty, was massacring the elves around him. The boy looked around, only hearing the screams of the men nearby and he sat and covered his ears. The tears flooded him again as he looked at the floor, only seeing a puddle of his own sweat and his own emotional tragedy. He wondered how he got himself into this war, and why he snuck into this village. He could not handle all the destruction. The dumb little boy who loved the wars around him was now a broken fraction of his old desires and dreams.

As the boy forced his hands clamped to his ears his nose started to move on its own. The boy paused his emotional outbreak and let his hands go to his ears, only to hear cheers, from both sides. The boy with teary eyes and blurry vision gradually stood himself up. As his legs twitched by themselves he ran towards the cheers. Maybe curiosity, or maybe he accepted fate but the boy's body forced him to run. The boy ran up the stairs towards the church, the marble floors clacking with his feet. Suddenly as the boy reached the top and the cheers grew louder the boy peeked over the ledge to see an elven man flying at him. The boy quickly ducked down as the elven man crashed through the marble ledge, breaking it all apart.

The boy quickly opened up his head and looked straight at the elven man with the luscious blonde hair, the super strong one, the one that slayed so many of the soldiers the boy saw die around him. He was laying down, head split and dead with no signs of breathing. The boy quickly turned his head towards the crowd of soldiers cheering. The boy quickly sensed that they were cheering for one man, his pupils darkened with the color blue and his skin purple. Though the emotion of fear was radiating in front of him, where once stood close to a thousand elven soldiers now only stood dead bodies and a hundred more, fearful for their lives. The ones who once stood and cheered as they ambushed and murdered the soldiers and citizens of the entire town were now on the floor begging for their life. The Dark walked towards them, and with every step, the instillment of fear inside them increased until he stood toe to toe with the commander of the forces. An elven man with long silky brown hair and eyes could pierce the heavens alone. The only one who had no sense of fear inside of him. The Dark and the elf stood each other off before the elven commander grabbed his pocket and quickly pulled out a staff. The Dark ducked under with a very smooth motion and tapped on the staff pushing it away from his body.

The elven commander scoffed as he quickly turned the staff back and tried to overhand attack him while enhancing the attack. The dark widened his eyes and his pupils started to get exposed but he did a quick step back. The boy watched the fight overhead, in awe of the fighting skills of the men fighting below. The Dark had turned the battle quickly and made the aggressors turn their heel and submit to the innocent races that were living in this town. As the two powerful men faced off again with the distance between the two the cheering of the human and robot soldiers echoed across, to a point where maybe the whole kingdom could hear it. Combined with the hefty laughter of the Proks who survived the front lines the atmosphere was not that of a battlefield, it was that of a duel. Many had forgotten the one-sided battle that had just taken place and was now focused on the duel ahead.

The Dark suddenly raised his hand up and motioned toward a human in shiny gold armor with silver lining. A second in command.

"Men, I wish we could watch this duel but right now the east and west gates are being attacked, we know general Roose will win this so let's continue and win this battle '' The second in command exclaimed.

The others shouted chants and hoorays as they followed the second in command, leaving only two soldiers to watch the battle that was going to come ahead. Suddenly as the dark stayed staring down the elven commander and the soldiers leaving to fight their battles elsewhere the boy senses a feeling of rage.

"YOU DARE LOOK DOWN ON ME!" The elven commander screamed out as he run full speed towards the man with his spear. "I SHALL FULFILL THE KYOUKA FAMILY WISHES!"

Suddenly the spear was in 5 different places, the man was moving it so fast and striking it towards the dark at such immense speeds the elven soldiers watched in glee, wondering if they really would all be okay.

The two knights watched as the dark side stepped on the man's every attack while still staring him down. The commander, still enraged, extended his spear out and struck the dark square in the face; it was so hard that thick gray smoke appeared to cover the area. The elven soldiers cheered as they saw the killing blow achieved in the dark. The two soldiers were surprised and quickly put their hands on the holster before they heard the words "stop" coming from the smoke.

As the smoke subsided the boy realized that the creature known as the dark was unharmed, his eyes still locked onto the elven enemy nearby him. As the commander stayed still in awe the dark extended out his hand and grabbed his face and suddenly an explosion ruptured. A huge amount of fiery ashes and thick gray smoke appeared and then the body without the head of the elven commander fell on its knees in front of the dark. The dark sighed as the two knights offered him a napkin for his blood-soaked hand.

The elven soldiers' initial optimism turned into agony as they screamed and ran out the gates of the kingdom, as they ran the dark muttered a few words and suddenly a magic circle appeared. The boy seemed amazed by the symbols on the circle and what came out was a massive amount of fire, nothing like the mage had summoned before, going full speed toward the soldiers. As the flames hit their bodies they screamed in agony as their bodies turned into specks of dust and ash. The only being that remained was the dark who let the magic circle. He quickly twisted his body around and turned away from the gate. The two soldiers that remained with him quickly ran towards the gate and started to scurry fortifying magic spells on the gate.

The boys stayed observing the dark that had destroyed the forces at the front gate. His long elven ears tingled, seeing the death of the platoon he was working with. His village was destroyed by the invaders of the new empire that was formed. His eyes gleamed with malice, the death of his comrades and his soldiers by the rest of the four races. The boy grabbed a dagger from the man with golden hair. He jumped below and ran towards the two soldiers, enraged by the death of his brothers.

Before the two soldiers realized the one on the left had a dagger thrown directly into his throat, the one next to him was surprised and looked behind to see a boy. The soldier grabbed his sword from his holder and ran towards the boy. The boy looked at him, his weakness in the battle had held him back but nothing was going to hold back the malicious intent he had.

The soldier screamed and cursed at the boy but as he entered within the boy's range he looked below to see a magic circle below him. Suddenly the floor shook and out came a leviathan.

The man's eyes widened and he gasped before the leviathan popped its mouth open and swallowed the soldier whole. The boy stared at the leviathan as it munched delightfully on the soldier.

"Boy," the little elf heard behind him. He turned to be face to face with the dark that had just obliterated his brothers.

He motioned his hand towards the dark and pointed at him. His blind eyes were unable to see this whole time, only the dark energy radiating within the hearts of all the soldiers was how he detected people. Now the person he detected was going to die.

The leviathan quickly rushed towards the Dark. As it gapped open its mouth the Dark grabbed a sword and suddenly the boy was awakened from his malicious trance. In which the energy he senses was the most malicious the world had ever seen.

"Prook Rule I Gyu" the dark muttered. The leviathan still proceeded to charge toward the dark. The dark put himself in a position that had not been used in decades. One of the legendary 3 sword styles. "Turno"

The leviathan teeth extended towards the dark and the man picked his sword upwards and then downwards. The leviathan paused in its place for a moment before it was cut straight in half.

The boy's fear had just been instilled in his heart again and he fell to his knees in exhaustion. This creature was an enemy no elf could ever beat. As he looked upwards he sensed the dark straight above him the monster stretched out his hand towards the boy.

The boy surprised by his behavior looked towards the dark, his pupils showing and a sense of happiness in his heart. A monster with actual feelings was confusing to him. One who held a sword filled with malice could act like this. The boy had no other choice.

The boy extended his hand out towards him and the man walked with him on the rocky pavement of the boy's home, the home which the dark wanted to conquer.

"This world deserves balance doesn't it," The Dark said pointing towards the battle that was ongoing at the castle in the middle of the city. "I am just the one to instill the balance," the dark continues smiling.

The boy looked puzzled at the man, the same man who had killed his comrades and friends was trying to be his friend. Though the boy knew if he rejected his purpose he would die too so he stayed close to him. Tugging him close by, a man with power could teach him, teach him how to no longer be weak.

"You from now on shall be my son," The dark said facing his head towards him.

The boy looked at him in anger which was responded to by happiness from the dark.

"Such a special creature indeed," The dark said as the buildings around them exploded and they started themselves down. One prodigy from another.
