[Yuan's pov]
I still feel happy after returning from the park since I can still picture the blue-haired devil's annoyed face after I foiled his plan. Although I feel awful for the child, if it weren't for the devil, I would not do anything to help her. Not only that, I'll do whatever I can to hinder those bastards' progress. He grinned deviously.
Ever since I was a kid, these devils have been nothing but a pest. They keep making noises over and over, and everywhere I go, there is always at least one of them floating around. They are like cockroaches; whatever you do, they don't go away, so what should I do? My answer is I'll just make their stay as painful as possible.
It's fun for me to watch other people's misfortune, but this kind of behavior will get you in trouble if you do it with humans. But devils are different stories. I won't get into trouble even if I get in their way. I mean, no one can even see them complain.
he Chuckles
Ah~ I still find it hard to believe that everyone in that park believes my story that my family was ruined because of me and my 'friend'. That will undoubtedly be included in my list of backstories.
He walks along the route towards his home as he hears the voice of the devil next to him humming.
He remembers when Levia just stared at the girl running towards her death.
Levia. She is a devil that is very different from the other devils that I have encountered; she behaves and speaks like a human. That's why I kept letting my guard down while she was with me, but after this incident, I realized that she was really a devil. No matter how cheerful or lively they are, at their core, they will always be devils.
On Saturday morning, a week had passed since the park incident.
In the morning, as Yuan just woke up, he'd been ambushed by a certain devil.
"Hey Yuan, do you always help humans like that?"
In reality, I interrupt devils rather than helping people. Nevertheless, I won't say that.
"Why do you want to know?"
She looks troubled as she keeps on talking.
"I'm just… Ever since that happened, it suddenly feels different."
"different?"
"Even though we don't fight or anything, It feels awkward a-and" She tightly grasps her chest as she directs her gaze at him.
"And I don't like it." "I don't understand why, but it hurts."
Huh? What is this girl talking about?
Then he realized that deep down, ever since that incident, he had started treating her just like any other devil.
This is why human emotion can't be underestimated. I thought I was doing a good job of acting normal. But it turns out I'm not
Yuan looks at her with his mouth slightly open, he then gives a defeated sigh.
I guess it's time to fix my problems. I can't have her telling other devils that I can see and hear them. It will be a pain.
He bows down in front of her as Levia's eyes open widely. Yuan closes his eyes and
"I'm sorry," Levia said, "eh," and as Yuan looked at her, getting confused, he smiled and continued.
"It's about what I told you last week," my lie
Levia replied with a puzzled face. "told me?"
"When I lash out at you when I know that it's not your fault," he makes an apologetic face as he continues.
"I know that it's the soul guide's job to do that, but from my perspective, letting other people die, even though I can help, I just can't act like a blind." lie
"If this ability can help someone, I'll do it." lie
"It's not that I want to get in the way," lie
"That's why I want to apologize." more lies
I told her nothing but lies, about this devil who manipulated me when I was a child and how I became isolated because of it. and how it became a tragic experience. just for the purpose of getting her sympathy. Having someone's sympathy makes them easier to manipulate.
"What's the name of the devil that was with you when you were a child?" If you don't mind me asking, she looked embarrassed, which confused Yuan a little as she kept on fidgeting.
For some reason, this is the only thing he can't lie about. He smiled a little and told her the first real answer in this conversation. He inhaled and exhaled as he said
"Her name is Lilith."
Levia made a really serious face as she heard her name. Yuan didn't think much of it; she looked in a different direction as if she were arguing with herself.
She made a lot of different reactions, which Yuan didn't forget to enjoy watching.
She started asking him another question again, but this time it was all about the devil named Lilith. She asked him what she looked like, then he lied once more.
Despite the description I gave her, she was unable to identify her, and since I made up the description myself, I am also unsure of the identity of that devil.
He giggles
Anyway, she he believes everything I said, and she told me that she will help me if I just ask, and with that, our relationship goes back to when we first met up as a devil and a human.
*grin* Should I say it's according to plan?
After that, Yuan put on his hoodie and went out. As he was about to close the gate to his house, Levia called
"Yuan look! I can float now!" He narrowed his eyes for a split second as he saw Levia floating instead of walking like she normally does.
Ah, that's too bad she looked like those flying cockroaches more and more.
"Congratulations! Now you have a much quieter existence, which is good."
He turns around and starts walking away from the house.
"Too bad, huh?" He mutters, Maybe deep down I still think of her as different? Anyway, that will end today.
"t-thanks. " "Wait, hey, I don't even make a sound when I walk."
"Yeah, yeah, well, you—
Yuan halted as his eyes widened for a moment.
Instead of floating, he saw Levia running towards him instead.
Yuan asks, "I thought you knew how to float already; why are you walking?"
"Well, I'm still not used to it, and I don't really mind walking," She laughs and jumps around, enjoying the moment.
Yuan started walking once again as he said, "I see."
Levia answered with "umh."
