Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Think of it as a gift!

Matsuda's face suddenly materialised not more than a minute later, and it was distorted into a shocked expression. I suppose he didn't anticipate the fact that I would have been serious.

I interrupted him just as he was about to say something, and I directed his attention to the box that was sitting at the bottom of his feet.

"Everything pornographic that I own, from magazines and posters to eroges and Hentai, is stuffed into that box and ready for viewing. I had considered selling it, but doing so would have been too much hassle, so please think of it as a gift "I merely stated that before turning around and walking away from the situation.

I didn't even have to look at him to realise that he was ignoring me and instead adoring the box that I had given to him to keep him company.

Even though I wasn't really concerned about it, hearing that I had finally accomplished my goal of getting rid of all of that clutter was satisfying.

I was even on the verge of levelling up once again, and if I went back to the house before eight o'clock, I would have gotten to the fourth level.

After I had finished taking care of things, I headed in the direction of one of Kuoh's larger parks. It took me longer to get there because Matsuda's house was more away from the park I had chosen to practise my abilities than my own house was, but the walk was well worth it because by the time I reached the park, I had been awarded with a point to my VIT total.

I shifted my position so that I would be less likely to be seen by anyone, then looked at the time displayed on my head-up display (HUD).

It was just a few minutes past three in the afternoon, which meant that I had more than a couple of hours to develop the skills I required and practise them as much as I could.

After realising that further assurance that something had not been found wouldn't be harmful to anyone, I chose to work first on developing ID: Create.

I concentrated mana on the palm of my hand and then raised it to the sky while I concentrated on the environment changing around me while at the same time being the same.

I willed my mana to construct an exact copy of the environment that was surrounding me, but I also willed it to place both the copy and myself on a different plane of existence.

It took me a few minutes, but in the end I was successful, and I watched as the landscape around me shimmered before the sky finally settled on a tone of crimson.

A talent has been developed as a result of a unique action. The ability known as "ID: Create" has been developed.

ID: Activate and Create. Lvl 1 [0.0%]. Used to design dungeons quickly and easily. At higher levels, it is possible to create immediate dungeons that are more difficult. At a cost of 20 MP Empty IDs are what you'll find in the available instant dungeons. Monsters: None.

//

When I observed this, I gave a satisfied nod to myself and then proceeded to check to make sure that there was in fact nobody there.

After it was finished, I made the decision to begin developing the talents I required, and I began by focusing on those that would allow me to deal damage to enemies.

I started with the simplest one, but it was also the one that I was positive would be the most powerful for a considerable amount of time.

In the palm of my hand, I gathered mana, and then I focused it into a ball. I chose to disregard the pop-up box that informed me that I had constructed a Mana Sphere.

After that, I concentrated on the centre of the ball and started to gradually guide the energies contained within it to spin in a number of different directions all at once.

It dawned on me that I would not have been able to accomplish this if I had not first learned how to manipulate mana since I was concentrating so intently on doing so, despite the fact that I was aware that I was moving in the right direction in terms of the method's development.

After a few minutes, the procedure was finished, and I was shocked to realise that it appeared to be the Rasengan in exactly the same way.

A talent has been developed as a result of a unique action. The ability known as "Spiraling Mana Sphere" has recently been developed.

Active and level one, the Spiraling Mana Sphere has a chance of [0.0%]. A close-range strategy designed by "The Gamer" using their previous experiences as inspiration.

The practitioner concentrates their mana on the palm of their hand and forces the mana to rotate in a number of different directions while while ensuring that it keeps its round shape. 50% Defense penetration. When taking a direct hit, you take damage equal to 1000% of your INT stat. At a cost of 200 MP

//

Following the successful elimination of a neighbouring tree with the freshly minted ability, the first thing I did was rebrand it as the Rasengan ability.

After that, I started investigating its characteristics and discovered that I was now vulnerable to a direct hit from Rasengan, which would inflict 330 damage on me.

This was a significant amount of harm considering that I was only level 3–almost level 4–at the time. The cost was reasonable given that such a powerful technique required a substantial amount of mana, and given that I intended to use it as a finisher, I wasn't bothered by the fact that it was so expensive.

The next step was the technique used for the mid-range. I concentrated mana into the palm of my hand and built it up there until I had what I considered to be an adequate amount of power.

My hand was pulled back before I threw it forward, and I let go of the grip I had on the energy that had been building up as my hand moved forward.

My hand let go, and a wave of mana extended forth, gaining momentum as it moved forward but eventually losing it as it reached higher altitudes and the energy dispersed throughout the atmosphere.

A talent has been developed as a result of a unique action. The ability known as "Mana Blast" has been developed.

Active and level one (0% chance), Mana Blast. 'The Gamer' is responsible for the development of this near to mid-range technique. The user concentrates their mana in the palm of their hand, and then releases it as they move their hand forward towards the adversary.

The longer the method is used, the less effective it eventually becomes. 100% of the Concussive Damage Dealt to the INT. 20% chance of inflicting the 'Stunned' condition on the target. Range: 10 Meters. At a cost of 20 MP

//

After that ability was invented, and after I put it to use to almost completely uproot a tiny three from its foundations, I went on to design the ability to spin mana arrows.

It was not difficult at all, and the quantity of mana it consumed was negligible in comparison to Rasengan and Mana Blast. I aimed the arrow that I had manufactured and pierced the three targets that I had previously attacked with Mana Blast.

When I checked at the section of my heads-up display (HUD) that indicated how much MP I still had available, I saw that I still had more than 80% of it, and it was already beginning to recharge.

Because I wasn't feeling particularly fatigued either, I decided against taking a break and instead kept working on acquiring the talents I had planned for myself to develop.

The defensive abilities came after that.
