Chapter 1 - Goblin's fire

Fire burned, strong and wild it consumed all that it touched. The plasma raged and ate, killed, and massacred. Chaos it caused, but still, he watched, witnessed it with despair filling his eyes.

He was numb. For how long, how long has he been witnessing this sight? How many times has he seen this sight? The bodies of his family, and friends. Many were short and green, a few tall and muscular, green skin was the predominant colour but a few had other shades of skin. Goblins. All were monsters but all were kind, and loving and desired to lead peaceful lives. Now they all lay dead and burning in front of him.

Then the scene overlapped with another. Large pink monsters slashed up to pieces their bodied dissected. Orcs, another race monster one he used to be.

Then trolls, then other mystical monsters and creatures. He once was a part of all of them, but they all died in similar ways, and he never got used to it. As a Transmigrant, a being with a massive and powerful soul so much so that he can be reborn countless times in this world. He was cursed to witness the scene of his fellow monsters, his family, and his friends all dying. Hunted for stop or meat or even worse strength gain also known as Experience.

He was numb his whole body trembling, "once more I've failed, failed to see my tribe my people safe." he spoke his tone and voice hollow of all emotion. He barely even registered the wave of water that swept from the sky to extinguish the fires.

"Regulus you need to calm down." spoke a voice soothingly. Regulus a Hob-goblin of average height with braided firey red hair, green skin, and yellow eyes let his weapon. A long 6-foot-long katana clatter to the ground.

The one who spoke was another Hob-goblin, but instead of green skin, she possessed bluish green a sign of a blessing of one form or another. She had yellow eyes and long whiteish-silver hair. "Dione, tell me. Where do you think they went?" asked Regulus his gaze moving to the female Hob-goblin.

"South towards our mines." spoke another Hob-goblin, this was had green skin and a lean build and black hair. "I've tracked their tracks towards that direction." said the Hob-goblin.

"Thank you Luca." said Regulus as he leaned down and started to pick up his weapon. "Please Dione, Luca search for survivers." he instructed..

"But.." started Dione but Regulus ignored her and blitzed forward, heading south. "I'm going after him, please Luca can you do as he asked." requested the Hob-goblin and Luca nodded.

"Yeah don't worry about it, I'm sure I'll find a few. The rest of the hunting team hasn't arrived yet but I'm sure they'll be here soon." said Luca. Dione nodded before marking's drew themselves along her forarms and then wings made of wind exploded behind her. Then she took off.

"To thing some stupid Goblins found such a treasure." spoke a man dressed in chainmale armour, as he looked at a spiral shaped hole, a mine. An open pit mine, large clumps of silver ore could be seen along with dead mining goblins.

"I know right, I mean these lands don't belong to them so they don't have the right to even attempt mining in the first place." spoke another next to the first.

"Atleast that village provided us with a workout," said the first man and his friend chuckled while both continued with setting up camp along with a descent size group with them.

"Yeah I know right, I even got a few good materials from em." spoke the second as he pulled out a multicoloured crystal from his pocket.

"You managed to snag one of those? Man I'm jealous." spoke the first, what they were looking at was a mana core, or soul crystal. Something every living creature produced should they die, with a abandence of mana within themselves. A crystalisation of energy an individual of a certain level of strength possessed within their hearts, and helped in regulating mana flow and with the usage of magic and arts.

"You know it, I'll use this baby to get myself into the knight corp." said the second man.

"Damn, you lucky bastard." grumbled the first. Then the earth beneath them shook. "The hell?" he questioningly asked as he sturded himself. Then a shadow blocked the sun. Looking up he made out a figure with a bit of difficulty. Then it smashed down shattering the ground and sending dust and debris flying.

The group of mercenaries slowly made their way around the hole that was formed. Slowly the dust started to clear, and there it stood. A monster tall and proud it gazed down, before unleashing a powerful roar to the heavens, one filled with rage and hate.

"Kill it!" shouted the leader of the mercenary group. Though the man well dressed and plump couldn't even react when the was a gust of wind and the monster was no where to be found. The was flash of metallic white and blood shot skyward.

Regulus appeared behind the leader, then the man burst into flames, purple-black flames consumed the already dead man. "Your all going to burn." promised Regulus in an ironically chilly voice.

"ATTACK!" shouted one mercenary breaking his friends out of their stupper. Regulus turned his long katana trailing an arc and flamed erupted consuming a few unlucky goons. One shot through the wall of fire, a dagger in hand and managed to get inrange to strike Regulus but the Hob-goblin raised a clawed hand, caught the blade with did managed to cut through his skin slightly due it's enhanced nature. He tugged the man pulled his head back and swung forward. Skull met skull and one shattered into paste.

Sending danger the Hob-goblin quickly tossed the dead man over him and a hail of arrows struck the corpse. It took a few moments for it to end and by then Regulus found 3 swordsman closing in on him.

Regulus ran a hand along his blade and it glowed white with runic symbols shining purple. Then whent the first struck he blocked, a clang rang out but a struggle, what the man was aiming for did not occur he just combusted. The other two who were flanking Regulus were shocked by this. Taking this offered chance Regulus held a hand out and a fire ball formed and flew to one who tried to block and did but the force took away his arms. In the meanwhile Regulus had swung his sword to the other man and sliced him in two by using the sharp wind pressure he'd created.

Looking around he found the dead and other mercenaries all quickly making distance. Archers pulled back on their bows and unleashed magic enhanced arrowed that collected wind as they flew and formed a drill like tip. One powerful enough to pierce armour. A powerful roar from Regulus though send a powerful shockwave that took care of the death rain.

"Mages!" shouted on Mercernary. As if on queue 3 man dressed in robes raised their hands and along their forearms magic inscriptions manifested and a mass of water shaped much like a tiger formed then leaped for Regulus leaving a trail of destruction around it. Then Regulus took a sword stand, side facing the incoming monster, feet spread apart and pointing forward in a neutral position. Then he slashed when the beast got close while unleashing a torent of fire. Water was evaporated and scatted. Then stopped mid-air reshaped and surrounded Regulus.

Regulus's cold angered face turned to shock and fear. 'I messed up.' he thought. Then the water spears descended.
