Chapter 119 - Beyond The Bridge

-

"M..ter, ....time."

I was roused by the sequence of tap being done by someone. As much as I needed to wake-up, my mind as well as my body forbid me for doing so.

However, it didn't take long for me to woke-up forcibly when I felt the bone-shivering cold abruptly assaulted my whole body. Flabbergasted, I quickly stood out the floor and gulped a Cold Resistance Potion. It seems that the buff has run out. Goodness, that was cold!

"Uwah—?! Master, are you okay?!" It seems that I shook Luna with my sudden action. Ah, looks like I also got everyone surprised as well. My bad...

I saw Akari who was beside me jolted. Although she didn't react much as if she didn't mind them. It was kind of cute. Did she sleep next to me?

"Dammit, Sai! I thought my heard was going to jump out of my body." Complained Astra, who was sitting idly near a Campfire.

"My bad, everyone. Just that, my Cold Resistance Potion has run out." I explained. "But man, that was too cold. It was suffocating, I tell you."

Thinking about it, just how many times have I accidentally surprised them? Regardless, their reaction was pretty hilarious, so I won't genuinely apologize. Keke~!

"You sure like to surprise us, don't you?" Lily retorted. Oh, yeah. I was just thinking about that. "Well, never mind that, since you're up, what's your next plan?"

"Yeah, well... nothing much. We'll keep with the plan intended: Explore the place, haul the treasures, get out of the place safely." I shot to check everyone one-by-one. It seems that I was the last one to wake-up. "That's how it is, looks like everyone looks good to go now. Shall we head out then?"

Everyone seems to not mind and concurred to my decision, so without wasting time, we left the tiny cave located at the high ground of the cavern and jumped down back to the bridge. The spider has been taken out so there won't be any problem exploring.

The bridge was lengthy. It took quite a while for us to finally reached the boundary. As for the place, how do I say this...

"A palace... No, a temple?" Everyone was just as puzzled as Lemuen when she uttered her guess. Of course, I was an exception. Surprisingly, Akari as well... "For a place inside a cavern, this place sure is extravagant, huh..."

"Amazing..." Lara, who's eyes were swimming all over the place, muttered so. "I-It feels surreal... Just how were they able to build such a structure... In an underground place, moreover."

I took a bottle of Hawkeye Potion and Spelunker Potion. Immediately, figures of treasures as well as the enemies begins to get highlighted within my vision, imitating similar of an X-ray.

"Hm, it's quite large, isn't it?" Luna asked. When I turned to her, her blue irises were glowing pretty. It seems that she also took a Potion the same as mine. "Fufu~! It's kind of exciting."

"You're right." I nodded. Hm, Luna pretty much can see the same as mine, the place was not quite but really large. Luna can also lead, so... "How about we form into two teams and explore the place?"

"Won't that be bad?" Mikael worriedly asked. "This place was some sort of a temple. I'm most likely sure that it'll be guarded by strong monsters..."

"That aside, isn't it a waste if we won't get to see all the place?" Astra complained. "Aren't adventure all about appreciating all the experience?"

"Hey, calm down, everyone. For you Mikael, I said this before, but we won't be seeing any powerful monsters here anytime soon. As for you Astra, I hate to say it to you, but the structure of this place was literally just identical to each other. You'll just be seeing the same structure the same as us."

"Are you certain it is?" Lara asked, albeit in a menacing tone. Oh, how scary! Haha.

"Shall we bet then?" I answered. After all those things we did, seems that Lara hasn't trust us yet. How disheartening... "No matter what happens, I will always prioritize my member's safety of all. There's no reason for me to lie here, isn't it?"

I just told this before, but you can return back to the igloo if you don't want to...

"Trust Sai in this situation." Assuring, Seia interjected. "He'll make sure that everyone will return safe and sound no matter what situation we got into."

"Although, his words went a little too much that Sai, no matter what happened, will sacrifice himself for us." Lily added, forcing a smile. Guh! Can't say anything to that. "We really hope he don't do that again, though. However, knowing him..."

"That's..." Lara, completely dumbfounded, paused and ponders for a second, then breathe a sigh as if she finally got the answer on her own. "Argh! Alright, I got it. So, what will we do then?"

"I'm glad you're quick for an answer." I nodded. "Let's see... How about this?"

* * *

Inside the place, or should I call it, the Frozen Palace, was a wide temple that completely resembles, ...a palace. Anyhow, the place was beaming with beautiful blue frozen-themed like design, sporting a number of white pillars on the place's edges. There's even a chandelier on the top, how awesome!

"......"

⟨⟨Battōjutsu⟩⟩ + ⟨⟨Tri-slash⟩⟩

"...?" Quickdraw. The Frozen Elemental, too late to respond, was cut in three before it disappears like a dust being gushed away turbulently.

"I'm done here." Astra informed, taking her sword back to its scabbard.

"There, the chest." Brisk Walking, I point a finger towards the dark lane, the two behind me sped-up. "There doesn't seem to be a trap anywhere. Take it without worries."

"Got it!" Her hair alongside her robe flutters in green. Lemuen rush towards the chest in excitement.

"W-Wait for me...!" Falling behind, Mikael shouted as to wait for him. Nuh-uh!

"It's just a single chest, though..." I mumbled as I heaved a sigh. "...Let's follow them, Astra."

"Behind you!" Replied Astra.

"Alright, what do we have here... huh?" Upon looking inside, Lemuen paused, displaying a puzzled expression. It's kind of concerning...

"What did you find?" I asked.

"No, it's nothing that serious." Visibly puzzled, Lemuen handed me the item—it was a saddle, along with a harness. This is... "It looks like a saddle. Does this even consider as a treasure?"

"Oh, I know this." And this item was kind of rare in the game also. "I bet you guys will love this when we use this."

"Really? It's making me excited for some reason." Astra replied.

"Well, you'll get to see that for later." I replied. "Head to the next treasure, shall we?"

The Frozen Palace sported a number of floors beneath it. We roam the floor, locate every treasure, clear the monsters guarding the treasure, and take all the valued items. Looking at it, we looked like a group of bandits... Argh, no! Treasure Hunters! I'm going to gaslight myself thinking like that from now on.

Additionally, this palace was separated by another similar structure—a separated palace, to which, I sent Luna and her group for them to explore the place instead. I guess, forming a 2nd Group was a good call.

Well, that's all there is. Boring, right? This, I won't bore you with some detailed information that's all repetitive and stuff. After all, no one wants to know something that's not interesting, isn't it?

Nonetheless, this will take a while...

Many hours later...

Exploring every nook and cranny of the place, we returned back to the entrance of the palace where we were supposed to meet-up with the group. Once back, we saw Luna alongside everyone already in place, waiting.

"They're already here..." I hope we didn't make them wait for too long. I can see their figures beyond the wall. "They're waiting for us, let's go."

"Hm? Ah, Master!" Delighted, Luna wave us a hand, beaming. The others being Lily, Seia, and Akari, smiled then approached to greet us. Lara, not sporting any reaction, followed suit, albeit slowly.

"We're back, guys!" Astra said, waving back. Quite energetic as ever.

"I'm back," I replied. "Did you guys wait long?"

"Not much," Lily replied. "Maybe 10 minutes or so?"

"Oh, my bad..." It's quite long. I feel bad... "By the way, how's on your side, though?"

"No worries," Seia, with a smile shot me a thumbs-up. "We hauled quite a lot of items. There was a problem, though."

My eyes narrowed to her statement. "What is it?"

"You look scary. Although, it's not really of a big deal." Seia explained. "It's just that, there's that one of the items we don't know about."

Item they don't know about? Hm, that might be...

"It looks some sort of a saddle with harness..." Luna explained. Guessed it. "Surely, Master knows it, right?"

But man, we got two of them, huh—and that item was pretty rare at that. How lucky.

"Yep, we also got that ourselves." I replied. "Anyhow, let's talk about that later. We've been working ourselves for quite some time, so you guys were probably tired. Let's call it a day and go back."

"Finally...!" Relieved, Mikael drops down the floor. "This is probably the first time I've experienced so many scary things in a single day. How hectic..."

"You're right. What a day, huh." I stretched my body as I answered. Ah, I didn't notice it, but my body is starting to get sore. "Let's go, everyone."

And thus, we walked our way back to the igloo—and the moment we returned, we directly went out to our bedrooms, wanting of some rest. The treasure will come for later. For now, rest is priority...
