Chapter 91 - A Straightforward Weapon

-

While Lemuen and I walk towards the exit gate, its expected but I'm still being scowled by every student we passed by.

"Haha, I knew you had some reputation in you, but I didn't think it was this worse..." Lemuen remarked, forcing a smile as she looks at me in pity.

"It's not really new to me, so I'm not bothered by it anymore." I nonchalantly replied. "Ah, I forgot to ask. You still want to continue as a Mage, right?"

"If possible, then Yes." said Lemuen, then added in a small voice. "It was a promise we decided with my sister after all..."

"I'll assure you it's possible. I just wanted to ask if you have any preferred Magic Weapons in mind. Despite it all, we're still going on a dangerous mission, so having a weapon comfortable to us is essential."

"R-really? Then... I'm not really good at Mana Control so Spell Tomes are out of the question... I-Is it okay, if I get a Staff? A-and also, if possible, a pretty straightforward at that."

"Uhm, I told this before but I'm not really good at this kind of stiff talk. You can be casual with me so drop the honorifics." I pointed out, then began stroking my chin, pondering. "But a Staff, huh... and also a straightforward one..."

It's not really a big deal for the players but Magic Weapons can be classified into three: A Staff, Spell Tomes, and lastly, Magic Guns. I still haven't tried a Spell Tome or Magic Guns in this world, so I still don't know the fundamentals of those three categories but let's see...

I began to look at Lemuen up and down as to carefully inspect her. In response, she looks at me in bewilderment but let's ignore that. She currently wears the Academy's Uniform instead of her Mage outfit so without her Hat, I can clearly see her unusual green colored-hair which is the most notable thing in her aspect. Judging by her hair color, she's probably a Forest Nymph. If so, that Staff will fit into her perfectly...

What's the Weapon's connection with her species you ask? Well, there's actually not. I just like it when a weapon aesthetically fitted into the character.

"Uhm, if you look at me like that, even I will start to get embarrassed..." Lemuen shyly informed as flush crept up her face.

"Oops! My bad. Regardless, I finally decided what Staff perfectly fits into you."

"Really? Can you tell me what it is?"

"It'll be a walk in a park to get so you'll see it soon. Let's go."

And thus, the two of us left the Academy and went into the Capital. The Guards blocked and prevented us from going outside but thanks to Bellatrix who gave us an exclusive excuse, they immediately let us out afterwards.

* * *

"This is..."

We have arrived a bit near the entrance gate of the Houses of Parliament—a palace sitting at the innermost center of the Capital. The reason is, aside from the Imperial Academy, there was also an 『Otherworld Portal』 sitting in here. Though, compared to the Academy, this portal is connected to the other Kingdoms in the continent for political purposes. Of course, people can also use it but of course, It will cost a lot. As for the reason were here...

"Y-you're kidding... Elven Kingdom, you say?" said Lemuen, looking at me in disbelief.

"I'm not joking. We'll need a certain material to get the Staff that you'll need."

"B-but— Using that Portal will cost you a fortune, you know?!"

"Of course, I know. I will be paying for the two of us, so you don't need to worry about it."

"Y-you..."

Lemuen looks at me in concern as I went inside a small building, then follows slowly after. Inside, I approached the receptionist, plan on buying a ticket while Lemuen quietly follows after me. And after a brief transaction...

"10 Gold Coins... I-Isn't that too much...?"

Explanations and Payments finally complete, we left our way outside the building. Lemuen who was quietly listening had her face in complete shock from the transaction.

I can't blame her thought. She lived her life on the bottom, never experienced a carefree life so such response was natural.

"Hey, Sai..." Lemuen timidly called. "Why are you doing so much at us? It's not like we did anything into you... we also haven't paid the Potion you gave us, so why?"

"Hm, I would be lying if I said it was only out of kindness. You could say it's an investment, I guess..."

"Investment, you say?"

"Yes. It's not about the money but there would be a time when I would need the help of someone. So, when that happens, I expected you guys to help me." I explained. "As for the Potion, that one I did out of kindness, so you don't need to think about it anymore."

"Y-yes..." Lemuen gave a meek nod, then beamed with a flush. "Thank you..."

Holding out tickets, we approached the Male Demi-Human with a wolf head guarding the portal. Once he checked our ticket, he gave us a nod and permitted us to enter.

"I-It's making me kind of nervous..." Lemuen anxiously said.

"Really? I'm kind of excited about it though." I admitted, then walk forwards the portal. But a few steps before I entered, Lemuen who was feeling uneasy pulled my hem shyly. I just ignored it and finally, entered the portal with Lemuen.

Light flashes our sight, coupled with mild dizziness. Briefly after, the sight of the Capital was instantly turned into a different place—we were transported.

"—?!"

"...Wow."

Buildings of entirely different structured design came before us. The buildings were similarly made out of stone but was mostly covered in greeneries, similar of the town we saw near the Jungle but this time, the place was overwhelmingly large and full of nature and life.

But what took our eyes and breath the most, that despite the distance between us, is still gives the illusion of looking nearer caused by how large it is. This Tree's height reaches even above the clouds felt surreal.

That's right, it was the World Tree or normally what they called the "Yggdrasil".

"A-amazing..." said Lemuen, raising her head to the fullest, astonished.

"Right..."

Time might be of an importance but does appreciating everything on your journey. The two of us had out head raised high as we look at the huge tree in awe.

"I got to have the girls come here next time..." I murmured, then shifted to Lemuen. "How about we start walking as we appreciate the view?"

"Ah, y-you're right..."

Leading the direction, Lemuen meekly follows as we appreciate the breathtaking view. We're currently headed outside the Elven Kingdom. The reason for that as I mentioned before, was an item that can only be obtained near the Yggdrasil. We can't just pick something inside the Kingdom or else It'll be a serious crime. So instead, we'll be getting it on the latter.

"Amazing, it's so different compared to the Capital." Lemuen remarked as her eyes swam around places. "It also made me feel comfortable for some reason..."

"Really? Maybe because you're a Forest Nymph that greeneries...I don't know."

"Haha, what are you even talking about? And also, how did you know I was a Forest Nymph?!"

"It was pretty obvious," I pointed a finger into her hair. "You can define what type of Nymph you are based on your hair color."

"Eh?! I didn't know that?!" Lemuen shouted, rubbing her hair.

So am I. I just assumed she was a Forest Nymph, but who wouldn't thought that my guess would be right, Haha!

The place outside the Kingdom were beautifully encompassed by huge and healthy trees. Just as you expected near the source of their nutrients which is the Yggdrasil. Regardless, we've been walking for quite a while now, so I think it's time we took something.

"Ah, that thing should be right." I pointed as I jog towards the green trunk lying on the ground.

[Yggdrasil's Trunk Acquired 1*]

It was of a complete green trunk that's undeveloped but had gained the necessary requirements thanks to the nutrition it gains from the influence of Yggdrasil.

"We got what we need here, let's head back to the Capital." I informed.

"Eh? Already?!" Lemuen stared at me in the eyes dejectedly. "B-but..."

"Haha, don't worry, we'll come here again next time so you don't need to make that face."

"O-okay..."

* * *

We immediately left the place and went back into the Capital. I'll be crafting her Staff on the Villa but before we went there, we took a quick trip into the Flower Shop to buy the last of the materials.

It took quite a bit while but afterwards, I finally determined what flowers to buy. I decided to buy the Carnation Seed since I think it will fit perfectly on Lemuen's aspect. I really do hope it turned out the same I was imagining.

Finally obtained the last piece, we left the place and went back into the Villa. The moment the sight of the Villa appeared on our arrival, Lemuen can't help but express her astonishment. I gave her a bit of a quick tour before we head lastly from the backyard.

"W-wow..." Lemuen had her mouth wide open, her eyes roamed around as to see the beauty of the garden that I decisively worked for. "I-It's so beautiful..."

The Garden of 『Mana Flowers』 came before Lemuen. The placement of the Flowers was a bit messy but the beauty of it disregards such, nonetheless. By the way, I had already accumulated a total of a 4-digit of it in my Storage Chest.

"Alright, I should start crafting it now." I mused, walking towards near the Mana Pool.

"Crafting what now?" Lemuen asked and follows after me, then began to notice something through the water. "That water...feels unusual."

"Well yes, and we'll use it to craft your Magic Weapon."

"Eh? Craft?"

"Just watch."

With a grin, I took all the materials needed to craft the weapon: [1x Yggdrasil's Trunk], [1x Mana Flower], and [5x Carnation Seeds] then dropped the items in the Mana Pool at the same time. Briefly after, the items began to glow and merged before us, turning into a single object.

『Carnation Seedling Staff』

With the green trunk acting as the Stave, a small green bulb sits at the tip of the trunk acting as the catalyst. Looking at it, it perfectly fits Lemuen just as how I imagined it to be.

"Here, Lemuen." I said as I handed her the Magic Staff. "How about you try it?"

Strangely, as I patiently wait for her to get the Staff, Lemuen looks at it in wonder.

"That Staff..."

"Yeah?"

"I feel something strange from that Staff...as if, its enticing me to take it no matter what..."

Huh? This feels familiar... —?! Don't tell me?!

After her strange remark, she began and slowly take it from my hand. But the moment she took a hold of it...

"—Wah?!"

"..."

Lemuen suddenly glows along with the Staff she's holding. The green bulb sitting from the trunk was slowly changing colors, turning white in the process, afterwards, the glow finally dissipated.

"W-what was that...?" said Lemuen, eyes widened in complete shock and bewilderment.

That scene that happened before me was as familiar as that time I was still playing the game. I can't help but had my eyes widened from the sight of it.

That Staff—the 『Carnation Seedling Staff』 is none other than Lemuen's 『Exclusive Weapon』.
