Chapter 69 - Ruckus

Chapter 69 - Ruckus

-

Heyo! This is me, Sai Crimsonheart. Even if the few days had passed since the time we went into a jungle expedition, part of me still remembers the feeling of tense and overwhelming situation that we had experienced during those weeks.

Well, currently, it looks like I won't be having rest this time. Apparently, it looks like the Academy will be having a tournament this week. I already made up some plans for me and the girls but...

"Hey guys, would you like to go with us in the cafeteria after this?"

"..."

As we were in the middle of our lesson, Miss Sherry briefly left the room to get something. I tried to talk to the girls, but they kept ignoring me. Fully focused on the discussion, the trio busily writes the lesson without any intention of talking.

It might be or might not be. But it looks like I've made some mistakes that made the girls kept ignoring me. It was about their perfect attendance or something, but it seems like it was very important for them to keep it. I didn't anticipate that the class would return immediately in which case, cause for the girls to get their first absent from this school. Their very eager in this huh.

(After discussion - School Recess)

"What about now? Would you—"

Without letting me finish my words, the three rose into their respective chairs and left the room with only the three of them. Akari shot me a signal look telling me what she would do next, so I gestured her to go with them.

I've been trying to talk to them many times, but it doesn't feel like they'll talk to me for a while. To be honest, I'm started losing my patient here myself. I know that their angry about me breaking their perfect attendance because I didn't anticipate that they'll start the class so soon.

I'm not perfect you know?! Although I understand that it's their first time going into the academy, it doesn't make it fact that they need to ignore me for their supposed promise. I have many more to say but I'll try to calm myself for now.

"Wow," Sora whose been watching appeared behind me and looks at me sympathetically, putting his arms on my shoulder. "This is the first time. Just what did you do to make them ignore you?"

"Cut it out Sora," I brushed Sora's arm in exasperation. "I'm losing my patience here..."

"Haha my bad." Sora apologized then added. "But still, that swearing of Lily sure was a shock to hear."

"Yeah, me too."

"I don't really like what's happening, but I'm here to listen if anything happens." Sora gave me a smile of reassurance and walk in front of me. "Let's go eat in the cafeteria for now."

Hearing it to him makes me calm down a little. As expected of Sora, he sure were very optimistic. I can't help but smile a bit into his enthusiasm.

"Yeah, let's go."

"Aye Sir!"

We were buying our respective food when I notice what Sora had picked in the menu. We've been eating together since the first day of school and I noticed that Sora kept buying his usual menu which is the cheapest food in the cafeteria.

"Sora, go pick anything you want." I said, looking at the menu. "It's on me today."

"Eh? Really?!" Sora enthusiastically said, looking at me with his eyes glittering. "I won't hold back, you know?"

"Sure," I confidently said, grinning. "Don't hold back."

"Got it."

My eyes widened when Sora vigorously picked anything his eyes can see not because of its cost but because of his appetite. I didn't know Sora had such a big stomach.

We were currently eating at the edge of the cafeteria—eating my usual food which is the fried rice while Sora gluttonously chows his tower of food who looks like it's impossible to eat with a single person. There's even a dessert left to eat for later...

"W-wow..." I voiced out my astonishment, strained smiling. "You sure had a big appetite..."

"What? Don't tell me you're regretting it?" Sora incomprehensively said, munching his food. "But why treat me all of a sudden?"

"Just a gratitude." I curtly replied.

"Is that so?" Sora swallows his food before he spoke again. "Then? What do you plan on doing after?"

I paused for a moment and start pondering. "To be honest, I don't kn—"

I was about to answer Sora's question until we heard a loud sound that came in the hallway of the cafeteria which instinctively shifted all of the people's attention into.

"I sure did tell you to go away, right?"

"Eek! I-I'm sorry..."

"W-wait...! Please don't cause any more trouble!"

Three people had gathered everyone's attention in the cafeteria. A black-haired guy who had similar build with Me and Sora had caused a ruckus by violently kicking the blonde fat guy in the face. On the other hand, a girl who's also a black hair wearing a ponytail keeps pulling the guy in order to stop his violence.

The poor fat guy had a mark on his face and is crying regretfully as he covers his face with both his hand to defend himself. I started to feel bad about him that I started to rose a bit and try to interfere in case something happened.

As for the two, they must be a couple. Jealously perhaps? Even if sure the poor guy did something, unless she assaulted the girl, that guy shouldn't immediately harmed the guy.

There's also some Irony in here, the appearance of that violent guy was so uncharacteristic to his wild behavior. You see, this guy... Looks softer than Sora. How do I say this... he's more on the cute type rather than the brute type. I actually wouldn't be surprised if he actually was the Protagonist of the story.

I shot a look into Sora and as I expected, he looks very furious. Looks like he's also waiting just in case that black haired guy hurt the poor guy again.

"Hey! Please stop this at once. You're causing a ruckus again!" The black-haired girl said, forcefully pulling the guy out of the place.

"I'm sorry Jasmine, but I can't just let this slide." The black-haired guy then starts to approach the poor guy with ease. As if, the girl whose pulling him was never there in the first place. "You."

"Eek! Please, I-I won't do it again...!" The poor guy sobbed, covering his face with both his arms.

"Of course, there won't be." The guy said, then starts to rose his feet—going for a finisher. "Since I'll make sure it will be your last."

"Stop!" The girl shouted.

"Eek!"

Similar to a guillotine, the black-haired guy forcefully pulled out a down kick. But before it hit the guy, someone had stepped into the scene and kick that guy's feet sideways—it was Sora.

I didn't see him approach the guy and just appeared there instantly. I see... 『Harmony Crystal』 huh, it's been a while since I've saw that.

"...And you are?" The black-haired guy coldly asked.

"I was just going to let it go if you had just listened to your girl and back-off but you sure are violent huh." Sora coldly replied, then firmly raised his fist. "I'd suggest you stop this at once."

"...And if I don't?"

"Then I would have no choice but to fight you." Sora claimed.

But the moment Sora finished his sentence, he was strongly kicked without making any signal. Fortunately, Sora managed to block it with both his arms—and flew away in a distance.

But before Sora managed to hit the wall, it was time for me to step into which I hastily swooped in behind Sora and catches him while forcibly removing the momentum in the process.

To his surprise, Sora quickly turned his head to see the person on his back. "Sai..."

"Wow, that sure was a hard kick. You even managed to surprise Sora even for a brief second." I complimented, then stood to side of Sora. "You're strong, huh."

He managed to surprise and land a strong hit on Sora which means his strength is possibly on par with me. Just who is this guy... He— No, I finally remembered now.

I see... He's the black-haired guy who manage to come first to Mr. Fjell huh.

"Oh... You're the loser, right?" The black-haired guy said nonchalantly. "Should I call you Mr. Underdog then?"

I felt like my veins started to pop out from my forehead for a moment there. T-this guy... he also had a blade of tongue... Shit! I sure am very popular in this academy... But at what cost.

"Oy Mr. Violent guy," The girl beside him started to speak in a furious tone which made the guy twitched in return. "Didn't I say not to cause more trouble?" The girl then gave the guy a smile but with a feeling of hostility into it. "Mind telling me the reason why you kicked him?"

"Guh...! I..." The guy was left for words, he then gritted his teeth and yield to the girl's malice. "I'm sorry..."

"Mhm." the girl smiled and nodded cheerfully.

The two then walked out and left the cafeteria, but the black-haired guy then stops to his feet and turned his glance into us.

"I'll remember your face." The black-haired guy said then walked after.

I breathe out a sigh and the two of us turned our attention into the blonde fat guy who was still on the ground laying.

"You alright?" Sora asked, then reached his hand to the guy and pulled him up.

"T-thank you..." The blonde fat guy timidly said.

"Learn to defend yourself next time," I paused for a brief moment, finding the right word. "Because in the end, you are the only one who can save yourself."

"Y-yeah," The blonde guy meekly nodded. "I'll keep that in mind..."

"Sai...! At least be considerate." Sora retorted against me, then shifted his attention to the blonde guy. "I'm sorry for my friend here. By the way, we haven't known your name yet." Sora points a finger to himself. "My name is Sora." Then pointed his fingers to mine. "And that guy is Sai."

"Ah," The guy started to panic but kept her composure after. "M-my name is Aedan, Aedan Yellowpage."

Hm... Never heard of him unfortunately.

"Nice to meet you Aedan," Sora beamed, then added. "You want to come with us? If you don't have anyone to hang out with, we're always available." Sora then looks at me in anticipation. "You won't mind right?"

This bastard Sora... Suddenly suggesting something like that... I can't help but scratch my head and sigh in capitulation to his overly kindness. I don't mind it though.

"Of course not." I replied.

"R-really..." Aedan timidly said. "T-thank you... I'll keep that in mind, but an instructor is calling me so if it's possible..." Aedan hesitantly paused but gained his resolve and started talking. "Can I hang out with you later?"

(Afterschool)

The class had already ended and it's time to head back into each of everyone's home. But, instead of riding a carriage back into the Villa, I decided to jog my way to plan on increasing my status.

I tried to invite the girls just like I've been doing since the morning but as expected, they still don't feel like talking yet. Mhm, I really just want to let it go but to be frank, I'm starting to lose my patient here.

I started to joy my way back into the Villa and started to ponder about the recent incident that happened in the cafeteria earlier. Aside from Aedan, I'm feeling some kind of familiarity towards that black-haired guy we met earlier.

I'm also thinking of how stupid I was to forget to Appraise that guy which unfortunately gave us a bit of disadvantage if we ever fought him once again.

I was in my own world for a while until I didn't realize that I had already arrived back at the Villa. If I were to describe myself, I probably look like a robot on automatic mode heading towards a specific location.

Looks like I was the first to arrive before the girls. I guess I'm probably faster than a carriage huh. In any case, we would be having our sparring match, but I wonder how I would talk it out in the girls. They've been ignoring me since then that I'm having a bit of crisis on what to plan on here out.

"Ugh...! What a pain in the ass." I uttered in vexation.
