Chapter 21 - Here Emerge a Ferocious Giant Slug

"Please don't die!"
After my words came the start of the battle. Sai began sprinting in an unbelievable speed but...
Instead of a usual head-on fight, Sai began to run around the place and starts slashing all the mushroom and grasses that are scattered around the place.
"W-what is he doing...?" I mused in bewilderment.
The giant slug also began to make its move—chasing Sai as it slowly speeds up its momentum bit by bit. As it finally got its speed up phase, it began to rush towards Sai as if it was trying to ram him like a raging bull. Sai who was about to get rammed dashed diagonally at the last second to dodge the monster parallel to where its heading.
The giant slug missed and violently crashed on the wall—stunning it for a moment. Sai who didn't waste any seconds attacked the giant slug with a flurry of slash one after another.
"Amazing!" I uttered in awe.
He took advantage of its ability to ram and deceived it by dodging near the wall at the last second!
The Giant Slug had begun moving again, removing its face on the wall that has been cracked from the impact. Sai also stopped his attack and began distancing himself into it.
The Giant Slug who had come back into its feet twitched and started to release some kind of green spores from its body that spreads throughout the area. Sai dodge and slash the spores when he feels hesitant to dodge. Just like earlier, The Giant Slug began to accelerate once again towards Sai who's fully occupied dodging the spores.
"?!?!"
Sai, who didn't have any space to dodge decided to take a defensive stance by putting his other hand on the edge of his blade and releasing his weight. And to my worry, Sai was rammed violently.
Unbeknownst to me, Sai had a plan on his sleeve. Although reckless, Sai used the slug's momentum and slides himself along the Slug that rammed him. Before they hit a wall, Sai dashed out, the Giant Slug's face hitting on the wall once again—and is stunned in the process.
"What a poor guy." Sai mused as he strikes a flurry of slashes to the Giant Slug who was temporarily stunned. "I'm sorry for you but were going to get out of here no matter what."
Just like the Giant Slug, I was also stunned and was completely dumbfounded to the scene I was watching. I was wrong! Since the time they started fighting, Sai has been controlling the battle from the start.
I have seen many strong fighters fight in front of me. It was clearly a sight that Sai was fighting roughly and recklessly, but I wonder why...
(Why is Sai so beautiful into my eyes...?)
My heart is pounds in excitement as I watch him. Was it because he was controlling the fight? Were his skills just too beautiful? Or what if it's the other...?

"Everything is going smoothly that I thought..."
Looking pretty good I guess...or not. It's last ram attack earlier felt like my soul had left my body due to the strong inertia hitting before me.
I was left no choice but to go on a defensive as the spores is limiting my movements to dodge. I'm really glad my reckless plan worked out, but goddamn I hope to never do it again!
The 『Green Mushroom Harre』 was able to move again so I quickly distanced myself as to give me some space and time to react from its upcoming attacks.
The reason I began to roam around and starts clearing all the grass and mushrooms was to give me a clear and also not to hinder my movements. I didn't manage to clear everything, but it was enough to give me the requirements I need to setup the fight.
Once again, it became temporarily stationary and began releasing those bothersome spores again. It is possible to attack while it's in that state, but I'd rather to patiently wait for the best timing than to recklessly attack it with any possible risks.
Nevertheless, I went towards the area with the least spores and waited for it to start accelerating. But to my surprise, instead of the latter, it began to slightly squeeze itself as if to create momentum to sling. Oh boy, here it comes...!
With its terrifying huge jelly body, the 『Green Mushroom Harre』 ferociously leaped at me. I already know its every movement, so I successfully dodge it by plunging sideways.
The bad thing is, while it didn't manage to hit me, countless spores immediately spread in the area the moment it landed. It was the moment of impact that it forcefully spurts out the spores in its entire body.
I kept slashing all the spores to reduce the projectiles I needed to dodge but it was futile—as there are too much of it and the 『Green Mushroom Harre』 is starting to accelerate itself towards me.
"Haha, no choice, huh..."
I gritted my teeth as I prepared for the upcoming impact, defending myself with my sword. Bam! The 『Green Mushroom Harre』 rammed at me with full strength, making me groan as my soul felt like it was knocked out of my body.
Overcame with no choice, I firmly ignored the pain as I get knocked away, immediately dashing out at the last second before the 『Green Mushroom Harre』 collided against the wall.
"Ugh, Damn it...!!"
I groaned as I flew away like a ragdoll from the violent force. I don't have time to waste anymore so I quickly stood into the ground the moment the momentum had dissipated and hurriedly went towards 『Green Mushroom Harre』 that's currently stunned.

With a quickdraw, I strike the Giant Slug with a flurry of slash. The monster who was being beaten began to shout a thunderous roar that loudly echoes throughout the Cavern. It was finally in its second phase.
I took a quick ⟨⟨Appraise⟩⟩ to the Giant Monster to see how many HP was left.

"It's still quite a lot." I mused.
I immediately took out a [Potion] and drink it as the 『Green Mushroom Harre』 roared loudly. It has to be this time since on its second phase, it'll be a lot more aggressive and will now be faster to a certain degree.
By the time I was done, the 『Green Mushroom Harre』 has now a visible aura around it. It begun to dig itself into the ground, spewing more spores through the whole area and emerges itself out once again—then starts to accelerate itself towards me but to a faster degree.
But that's where the 『Green Mushroom Harre』 whole weakness is. I carefully matched my timing and dashed diagonally, hitting itself on the wall once again. Since it was faster than before, the self-harm from the collision causes it to take more damage on itself. The 『Green Mushroom Harre』 was also stunned longer which gave its second phase more disadvantage.
"Gahaha! What an idiot." I ridiculed, then took a deep breath.
I firmly grab the grip of the 『Kusanagi』 while in complete concentration, and then...

I attacked the Giant Slug with a barrage of slashes, shouting the Giant Slug with the sound of pain.

I managed to deal quite a lot of damage. But it was time for it to move once again. This time, it was of a bad timing—as the earlier spores have now spread all over the place.
"Shit, isn't that too many?!" I complained with a click of my tongue.
The 『Green Mushroom Harre』 is starting another ram attack. I quickly slash all the spores as fast as I could, but it was too late, I have no more room to dodge.
I gulped. "C-can I do it..."
The 『Green Mushroom Harre』 accelerates towards me like a raging bull. I carefully analyze its movement and with greater timing, I moved sideways with the most minimal movement possible. Just as I thought, with my current stats, it's still physically impossible to dodge it completely as I was grazed with a minor injury into my right arm.
It was very reckless and dangerous, but it at least left the 『Green Mushroom Harre』 to collide at the wall once again. This monster never learns, does it?

I tightened every inch of my muscles and attacked it with only the thought of finishing it.

"Come on, just die already...!"
I kept attacking it from left and right. I saw a glimpse of its movement, but I risked and just kept attacking it. I need to end it right now. If not, it will—
"ROAAARRR!!!" The 『Green Mushroom Harre』 shouted a deafening roar, immediately forcing itself out of the cracked wall and began to shoot a round of spores from the whole area.
"Not good, I didn't make it."
This time, it didn't need time to accelerate, it immediately sped up and is coming towards my direction. Agitated, I plunge sideways as fast as I could. I managed to dodge it but unfortunately, it finally learned to make an abrupt stop and didn't hit the wall—and without making any rest, it once again rush towards me aggressively.
"Mr. Sai!!" Worriedly shouted by Lily.
I run away as fast as I can while being chased by a Giant Slug aggressively rushing towards me. Only about a few centimeters and it'll be able to ram me. But by the time I was about to hit a wall, I plunge sideways in desperation as I was about to hit by a truck.
Boom! The 『Green Mushroom Harre』 finally rammed against the wall. It might have learned to stop midway but it was not enough to make an immediate stop with only a few meters left over. Quite the anticlimactic if I say so myself.
The some of the spores that hit me exploded in contact earlier, so currently, my whole body was completely bruised, as blood slowly drips throughout my body. But never mind that, there is only one thing one my mind that I need to do.
One last time, I used all the remaining strength—gripping my sword tightly, and with a hold of my breath, I heavily hit the stunned Giant Slug with a downward slash.
"ROAAARRR!!!" The 『Green Mushroom Harre』 yelled its final roar as it trembles before dying. And so, finally...
