"No. I put him to sleep for a while. Still, he will wake up tomorrow with a big headache."
"Tomorrow?" Ray will be very angry.
"A little advice?" Jon delivers.
Rook nodded at him with an expressionless expression.
"If you have to knock him down again—which, let's face it, you probably will—don't knock him down for a day. He's got alpha missions to do and a bunch of them to take care of."
Rook takes a deep breath through pursed lips. It's shirred and cushiony and perfect for soaking.

"Yes. I didn't think about that part. I was accused of being a little irritable."
The nurse, whose name I still don't know, grunts. "A bit. You burned down our family's house when you couldn't go to the Samhain festival because they punished you for burning your neighbor's apple tree."
He just smiles shyly, rubbing his neck. "Yes. I've learned to control myself much better since elementary school," he just tells me.
