Chapter 28 - Rumor

2 hours passed by in a flash, Tang Yin had already finished reading the most important parts of the book, he was currently reading the gibberish nonsense which was the author voicing his thoughts into words.

Tang Yin got up and returned to the 1st floor, he put back the book from where he had originally gotten it from. Tang Yin left the library through the entrance he had come through, before he left, he handed his plate back to the guards standing beside the gate. There were only a few minutes left on the plate.

Tang Yin did not visit any other streets or shops, he went straight back to the inn. For most of the day, he mulled over the information he had read from both books. After that, he started thinking of ways to get more Spirit Stones. Originally, there was a third way to obtain Spirit Stones other than selling Demonic Beast flesh and searching for herbs.

This 3rd method was also the fastest but also very brutal, it had left Tang Yin hesitant. After finding out how insignificant his and everyone else's lives were compared to the Bright Yang Continent, he decided to choose this 3rd method.

The 3rd method was to kill and plunder the Spirit Stones of cultivators. Since someone as weak as Shan Yu who had just awakened his Martial Spirit could get his hands on a Low-Grade Spirit Stone, then most other cultivators had most probably also saved up some Low-Grade Spirit Stones.

This reminded Tang Yin of the shopkeeper from Mo's Medicinal Pavilion, he had offered him multiple Spirit Stones just for an herb, since someone like him, who was not even in the Physique Transformation Realm had so many Spirit Stones, many other cultivators were bound to have at least one Low-Grade Spirit Stone saved up.

All Tang Yin needed now was bait, he couldn't kill and plunder in the city, and he would be caught in no time. He had decided to set up a trap in the Demonic Beast Mountain, he would attract a large number of cultivators who weren't too strong into the Demonic Beast Mountain with a certain bait.

This bait would be a whisper, several days passed by.

Tang Yin wore his normal appearance without the cloak and mask, he was sitting at Liu's Wine Inn, and he was sitting all alone on a table eating fresh boar meat and drinking the inn's best wine. Occasionally low whispers would creep into his ears.

"Brother Wang, did you hear? Recently, many cultivators who ventured into the Demonic Beast Mountain found lots of herbs and materials at the periphery of the Middle Ring. Apparently, they were being guarded by weak Demonic Beasts, all cultivators who ran into this heaven-sent opportunity made a fortune when they returned to the city." A middle-aged man, with average looks and neat long robes, whispered to the boorish-looking man opposite him.

The boorish-looking man stopped stuffing his face with food after hearing this, "Really? Brother Lie, if what you say is true, then why don't we take a trip to Demonic Beast Mountain to see if we can make a quick fortune." The boorish-looking man immediately donned a serious voice while inviting the middle-aged man.

"I don't know, it's never this simple to make a fortune, I think it's too dangerous." The middle-aged man did not give a straight answer, but instead voiced his worries, clearly, he hadn't discarded the idea of going to the Demonic Beast Mountain.

"Brother Lie, you're at the 4th stage of the Spirit Channeling Realm, while I'm at the 5th stage, there's nothing to be afraid of with me around, I promise I'll to protect you. If we really make a fortune, we can spend every night at the Clear Moon Brothel." The boorish looking man immediately thumped his chest in reassurance, a lecherous smile hung on his lips as he uttered the final sentence.

"Well, alright, with Brother Wang around, I'll feel much more reassured. Cheers!" The middle-aged man let go of his final worries as he picked up his wine cup and toasted it to the boorish man before downing it with a single gulp.

Tang Yin had a faint smile on his lips, he had heard the duo's entire conversation. The rumour about many cultivators obtaining herbs and materials was fake. Tang Yin had spent nearly 100 taels of gold hiring a local gang to spread this false rumour, he had worn his cloak and mask when he did the transaction, the gang did not see his appearance or know his identity.

The rumour had been circulating for 2 days now, it had enough time to spread far and wide, even if people found out it was fake, it would be too late by then. Tang Yin got up and paid the innkeeper a tael of silver for breakfast. He wore the cloak and mask, covering up his appearance from head to toe and headed straight for the Demonic Beast Mountain. Tang Yin had to go there a day early to prepare for the killing and plundering that would take place tomorrow.

Strong Killing Intent shone in Tang Yin's black abyssal eyes. He arrived at the Demonic Beast Mountain a few hours later and began his preparations. This would be Tang Yin's first massacre. However, he was not nervous or in anxiety. His heart was as calm as an ancient well.

The next day arrived swiftly. "Let the slaughter fest begin!" Tang Yin coldly mumbled under his breath as he watched the arrival of the duo he had overheard yesterday.
