Chapter 11 - Martial Skills

Tang Yin looked at the dead One-Eyed ape in front of him, he had decided to Devour it. He dissolved the Abyssal Sword, sat down beside the ape and activated his Heaven Devouring Abyss Martial Spirit. Swoosh, with a whirlwind and a few sparks of blackish-red lightning, his Martial Spirit took form.

'Devour' Tang Yin called out in his head, and the Heaven Devouring Abyss Martial Spirit crackled with lightning while rapidly absorbing the soul of the One-Eyed ape first. After absorbing the soul of the One-Eye ape, Tang Yin felt refreshed, he also felt something strange within his body.

With doubt, Tang Yin absorbed the blood, flesh and bones of the One-Eyed ape. After the absorption, the strange feeling within his body reached its peak and BANG, 'The 4th stage of the Spirit Channelling Realm' Tang Yin heard a quiet bang in his body, this was the same bang that appeared when he broke into the 3rd stage.

This sudden increase in cultivation left Tang Yin pleasantly surprised and excited. He did not expect to break into the 4th stage of the Spirit Channelling Realm after Devouring the One-Eyed ape.

After getting over the excitement of reaching the 4th stage, Tang Yin got up and looked towards the cave behind him. This was the home of the One-Eyed ape, but now the ape was dead, this cave now belonged to Tang Yin.

Tang Yin calmly and vigilantly walked towards the cave, although he had confirmed that there was only a single One-Eyed ape living in this cave, life was full of surprises.

Tang Yin walked into the cave, it wasn't big, only around 50 feet in size. After finding no traces of a second Demonic Beast, Tang Yin let out a sigh of relief.

He had decided to stay in this cave for the rest of the day and night, then venture deeper into the Middle Ring in the morning. Once he reached the 5th stage of the Spirit Channelling realm, he would head back to Maple Leaf City.

The cave stunk, yet Tang Yin was not bothered, he had lived in such conditions before.

'The Abyssal Sword is very sharp and sturdy, it went beyond my expectations.' Tang Yin thought back to the Martial Skill he had used for the first time, the skill had surpassed his expectations by a large margin. He had thought that the blade was not sturdy enough and would snap in half after encountering the ape. But the Abyssal Sword had shown no signs of instability or even vibration. It left Tang Yin surprised and shocked at the sword's physical might.

Speaking of Martial Skills, Tang Yin thought back to the introduction recorded in the Heaven Devouring Abyssal Sanskrit about Martial Skills.

Martial Skills were skills that were used by Cultivators in the Physique Transformation realm and above. The cultivators would use the Qi in their Qi Sea to perform a Martial Skill.

Martial Skills were divided into 9 Tiers like Martial Spirits. However, unlike Martial Spirits, the 9 Tiers were further divided into Lower and Higher ranks. Lower rank, 9th Tier Martial Skills were the weakest Martial Skills, while High rank, 1st Tier Martial Skills were the strongest.

Tang Yin was a sagacious person; he knew very well that the appearance of a 1st Tier Martial Skill would throw the whole True Martial World into chaos and war.

The strength of a Martial Skill mainly depended on two things, the cultivation of the caster and the Tier of the Martial Skill.

The Heaven Devouring Abyssal Sanskrit, however, did not mention the Tier the Abyssal Sword Martial Skill was which left Tang Yin perplexed. From the strength the Abyssal Sword displayed against the One-Eyed ape, Tang Yin was almost sure it was at least a Low Rank, Tier 8 Martial Skill over even higher.

Thinking about the Heaven Piercing Eyes Martial Skill he would obtain from the Heaven Devouring Abyssal Sanskrit when he reached the 7th stage of the Spirit Channelling Realm, Tang Yin almost couldn't contain his excitement.

'If the Abyssal Sword is already so strong, how strong will the Heaven Piercing Eyes be?' Tang Yin fantasised about the strength of the Heaven Piercing Gaze.

After thinking all day about numerous things, Tang Yin fell asleep. He had not slept in countless days, although he slept like a log, he was still on high alert.

The sun chased away the darkness like a righteous soldier after a criminal, morning had arrived. Tang Yin woke up, and the first thing he did was survey his surroundings, after seeing that everything was normal, Tang Yin slowly got up, he had slept for a long time, and he felt comfortable and refreshed.

Tang Yin exited the cave. He advanced deeper into the Middle Ring, he wanted to find some Mid-Tier Rank 1 Demonic Beasts. Although killing one couldn't make him advance to the 5th stage, killing multiple and devouring them would definitely have some sort of effect.
