Thanks to me and my reckless way to open a conversation with her, our breakfast ended awkwardly after Hannah asked me to forget her words and enjoy her homemade breakfast, which I agreed to without a second thought.
It was so awkward that I didn't even dare to ask Hannah for help in handing me the ketchup bottle that was not far from her, and I chose to remain silent until we finished our breakfast.
"Are you still upset about my question earlier?" I asked, no longer able to bear the silence between us as I watched Hannah clear my plate. "If I am, I want to..."
"No, it's okay. I'm not upset about your question at all."
"Are you sure about that?"
Hannah answered with a nod as she rubbed my head with her hand, which made me feel so comfortable until I realized that she was rubbing the top of my head with the hand she was using to eat her sandwich.
"Ew, get your hands off me right now!"
