"From what you told me just now, there's only one conclusion: He hates you; that's why he's been avoiding you until now."
I gawked, almost dropping the ice cream cone I bought at the convenience store near my workplace, upon hearing Rebecca's short but very painful words.
"Hahaha... I don't think that's possible. Richard doesn't hate me at all!"
"Oh, really? Where did your confidence come from?"
I was about to answer her question when my eyes accidentally met with Richard, who stopped his steps on the path in front of the minimarket where Rebecca and I had spent our lunch time.
Beside him, there was Jess, his personal assistant, who should still be on vacation leave. Or at least that's what I remember when Jess, with his 'kindness', managed to make me Richard's personal assistant temporarily until he returned from his leave.
