"ARRRGH!"
Zirconis screams in pain as my sword pierces through his eyes.
"Yasaka! Now!"
Yasaka jumps into the air and puts her nine tails before her. She then opens her eyes to create a ball of destruction. The ball's color is blue, but dark energy is inside. This is what Yasaka calls 'Fear,' a negative energy that she gets from human fear.
This is the reason why Youkai fetches a lot of money in the dark market. They are the only race that can contain multiple energies without negative effects. They can use Chakra, Touki, Natural Energy, and now Negative Energy. Yasaka says some youkai can contain more than five energy, but it was a rarity and something that she would keep secret, so the others did kidnap them.
"Ryan! Go away!"
I snap from my thoughts and see the ball has already grown to three meters in diameter. I nod and run away as fast as possible. When she asks me to go away, I know it will cause destruction that can kill me if I get too close to it.
As Zirconis stops thrashing around and searching for us, it is already too late when he looks at Yasaka. Yasaka releases her attack. I can see Zirconis create some kind of barrier around his body just before the attack hits him right in the head.
As the ball of destruction hits, a massive pillar of energy appears from the impact and pierces through the sky.
I shield my face as many stones and wood fly toward me. I look to the sky and see Yasak change into her humanoid form and fall to the ground. I jump and catch her. I can see her smile tiredly, and I give her a small smile as well.
The explosion lasts for two minutes before it disappears, and a few seconds more for the dust to disappear. I can see the Zirconis stop moving, and I can feel his life force is gone. He is dead. As expected from the Queen of Youkai. Her attack creates a thirty-meter-deep hole and kills a dragon.
"Do you want to continue to fight, or should we wait?"
I look at Yasaka in my arms. She looks at the other, still fighting, and says.
"Let them be. We will help them when the situation gets worse. They can handle the rest of the dragon."
I nod and sit on the ground. I put Yasaka's head on my lap as we watched the fight happening in front of us. Coming to this world made me realize something. I need to return home. Not to Japan but rather to my hometown in Indonesia.
I am glad to have family here, but I need to visit my parents and little sister. Family is important, and I still have a blood family back home. I wonder what they are doing. My little sister is about to graduate from high school next year and wants to follow in my footsteps and go to college in Japan.
I don't mind paying for her college tuition as long as she can keep up with her studies. She is the brightest person. She is not stupid, either. She is your average student, but what makes her keep up her top student status is her determination and a never-give-up attitude.
She will ask her teacher when she does not know something, and she will continue to learn something when she wants to do it. When she knows that I can speak Japanese, she immediately asks me to teach her, and I proudly admit that she has reached the basic level that lets her have a small conversation with a Japanese person.
"Ryan? What are you thinking about?"
"Hmmm? I am thinking about my parents and little sister back home."
"Back in Indonesia, right?"
"Yeah. Lately, I have been thinking about them. Seeing our family getting closer, I start to miss them."
"Hmmm~ What about visiting them?"
"Hmmm? The four of us?"
"Yup! What do you think? Are you worried that your parents disagree about our relationship?"
"Well, they will look at us weirdly for a moment, but they will understand."
My parents are not the type of people who will frown at their son married to an older woman. As long as she is a good person, they will understand. They are the only people supporting my cousin, who married an older woman while the rest of the family distanced themselves from him.
"Then I am glad because I want to see your parents in the future."
"I will bring you there. Ah, before we go there, I have a question that I always want to ask you."
"Ask away."
"Are there any Gods from Indonesia? As you know, I am new to this thing."
"Gods that are specifically for Indonesians? No. However, there are many spirits in the Southeast Asia region. I have always wanted to meet the Youkai from that region. Well, you call them demons."
"Oh? Do you know what kind of spirits and demons there are in Indonesia?"
"Well, I have not met them in person, but I read about the famous one after meeting you. His name is Buto Ijo, the Green Oni. His kind is known for their durability, you know? Only a certain thing can pierce through their thick skin. They can make some sort of gas that makes them vulnerable to one thing in exchange for more power."
"So Buto Ijo is weak against bamboo, huh?"
"And molten mud. Mud that is so hot, it can melt iron."
"Why did he do that? Why can't he make his weakness something more obscure?"
"Because the more common the weakness, the more powerful the reward. Bamboo is something common in Asia, and it grants him a lot of power."
"I see."
Man. I need to learn more about the mythology of my country. There are a lot of them, and maybe I need to search for some Dukun. The real deal. Because there are many fake Dukun back home.
I blink for a second when I feel an explosive mana happening. I look to the battlefield and see the Eclipse Gate destroyed and the rest of the dragon slowly disappearing.
"Should we join them?"
Yasaka gets up and says,
"Let's go. Talking about home, I want to return quickly."
