When we return to the palace, Yasaka greets us with a smile. Kunou runs toward her, and Yasaka picks her up, spinning her around. After putting her down, she hugs Asia and then walks toward me.
"It's good to be back."
"Welcome home, dear."
I hug and kiss her.
"Tell me about your vacation while we wait for lunch."
The four of us walk to the dining room, where I tell her about our adventure in my hometown. Kunou and Asia also share their adventures with her. By the end of the story, Yasaka smiles and says,
"Ah~ I want to come too! Sadly, the workload here keeps increasing."
"Let's return for the Winter Holiday. We'll go and explain our relationship to my parents."
"Ryan? Are you sure? The people of Indonesia might not be as accepting of having two wives, right?"
I look her straight in the eye and say,
"I don't care what others think. My parents will accept our relationship, and that's all that matters. I don't mind if others look at us strangely or talk about us behind our backs. I love you, and that's all that matters."
"Ryan~"
Before I can say more, she throws herself at me and kisses me. I kiss her back, hugging her tightly.
"Mama~ Papa~ The food's here!"
Yasaka releases me, her face tinged with a blush. I give the servant an apologetic look, but their smiles suggest they're accustomed to her antics.
After the servants put all the food on the table, we started to eat the food. While eating, Yasaka looks at me and says,
"However, it is a surprise to see a God willing to sacrifice his last divinity to bless a mortal. Most Gods would rather let themselves die as a God rather than die as a mortal."
"But he is an immortal, Yasaka."
"Not really, no. It is called an Immortal, but it is more of a mortal with a long lifespan. Think of the Devil Race. They can still die of old age, but they age REALLY slowly, unlike God, who cannot die as long as their name is remembered or there are still worshipers."
"I see. Does that mean the Gods who die are because they did not want to throw away their divinity?"
"Yup. Hence dying as a God."
Divinity is a double-edged sword, huh? If you keep clinging to that, you will die if no one remembers your name or no one worships you. I guess I understand the reason why Sori's brothers are dead while he is still alive. He has already given up his divinity and now lives as a mortal with only a small hint of divinity that signifies his status as a Former God.
"However, it is really fitting that you are now the Chief of Healing in Indonesia or at least to Batak People."
"Huh? Why?"
"Your healing spells are the best in Japan and one of the best in the world. Now, combine it with your new blessing; I know you can be the best healer and create the best healing spell in the world."
"Then I will do my best not to disappoint you."
I smile at Yasaka.
"I will help, Ryan. My magic might not be as good as you, but my Sacred Gear can help you."
"Me too~ I will help papa~"
I laugh and pat their heads affectionately. They are just too cute. After patting their heads for a few seconds, I look at Yasaka and say.
"How about you, Yasaka? How is your day here? You said something about trouble in the Western side of Japan, right?"
After I mentioned the mess in Western Japan, Yasaka put down her chopsticks and said.
"Nurarihyon's faction gets attacked by the cult."
"Cult? Which one?"
"Tamamo no Mae Cult. That cult managed to find the location of the real Killing Stone that sealed Tamamo no Mae."
That lunatic, huh?
"Do they need any help?"
"Don't worry. I have already sent two hundred people there to help them against the cult. They are all at least Mid-Class Youkai with a dozen High-Class Youkai and one Ultimate-Class Youkai as their commander."
"Eh? Are you sure you want to send that many people there? How about this place?"
Yasaka gives me a smug and proud smile and says,
"Thanks for your new Senjutsu technique; many of my soldiers experience breakthroughs that increase their power by one rank. Now, we have four people who reach the Ultimate Class and fifty people who reach the High Class."
I blink at that number and say.
"That is a lot."
"Yup~ It might look like we are sending our best to help Nurarihyon and his clan, but in reality, we are sending numbers instead of quality."
"If that old fossil knew about this, he would complain every day to you, you know?"
"Hah! What does he want to complain about? I sent an Ultimate Class youkai to aid him. If he dares to complain, his people will see him as ungrateful."
"That will not stop him from complaining without the others knowing."
"That is true. He is a sneaky bastard."
I smile at those words and continue to enjoy the food before it gets cold. As we enjoy our food, I can see Yasaka perk up and feel something happening outside. We look at each other and nod. Yasaka looks at Asia and Kunou and says,
"Asia. Kunou. Go and hide. There are a lot of people attacking the palace."
The two of them look at us and say.
"No! We can help. Asia and I can help!"
"Kunou is right, Yasaka. We can help. We might not be as powerful as you two, but we can help."
Yasaka hesitates for a moment and nods.
"Very well. You two will stay at the back. Your main job is healing and support. Shoot when you feel you find an opening. However, I need you two to obey the officer leading your group."
The two of them nod their heads, and we start to run. We leave the palace and jump to the wall where the others have already gathered.
"What is the situation?"
She quickly asks the nearby Karasu Tengu.
"It is a group of humans, my lady. They all hold holy swords, demonic swords, or Sacred Gear."
Yasaka frowns and looks at the group that is bombarding the palace's barrier.
"Who are you!? What have we done for you to attack us?!"
A young man holding a long spear on his shoulder walks forward. I know that guy. He is Cao Cao, the leader of Hero Faction and the one brainwashing his fellow humans.
"Nine-Tailed Fox Yasaka! Give yourself up, and your palace shall not be destroyed!"
