Chapter 1 - Swordsman from Bassal

Lived days are spent on the islands of Bassal, free days to the liking of its inhabitants, short days, however. For nothing that occurs in the incorrigible fields of Bassal will be good for a long time. And in gallops travels Okata, son of Kisan (A farmer), shaking his legs on the side of his agile horse. (Talk about the background). The rush subsides when his house made with ancient planks, of almost 1 century could be seen horizon above, by hills of tiring any human, but not legs of equine.

The small barn next to his house was already within reach, and here Okata let his runner pal rest next to the pig wash, now with his own legs towards the house, a few feet from where he was. Muffled screams leave the residence, the cry of an adult woman for sure. His despair was clear upon hearing his wife so frighten, and so did not stop his acceleration until the door rang, a strong knock, in fact, so strong that it would scare even the gates of a large castle (Insert a reference here), he entered and shortly after his weariness came along, finally opening his mouth:

- I am here! How's... - His loud noises were watered down by two old ladies, residents near the farm, neighbors if you like.

- No, no, Mr. Okata, your wife is already under a lot of stress and we don't want to be bothered until the baby has been given birth.

- Baby? Is it just one? - Okata continued to deflect his face, wanting a little more information on where his wife is, but neither of the two old women allowed him to see whatever he wanted to know.

- Mr. Okata, out! we do not want to be rushed! - Pronounced the second lady, without patience for the curious man, throwing him out of the house again with trouble. - And one more thing - Right before closing the door in Okata's face, the lady turns around and makes a request – Could you cover your ears, please. -

Long hours were just standing still, or walking from there to here, without any direction, waiting for a news of his wife and his newborn child, being it boy or girl.

"Preferably a boy" thought Okata several times, "I won't be able to teach many things if it's a girl" Uncertainties hammered him on the head, just a fear of not being a good father "Maybe I can teach her how to comb the horse... no, this isn't even fun" continued, biting the little nail that was in the left thumb.

As an already mature adult, he always hated it when his thoughts come out reason, his head shuffles everything and makes you a horrible juice. When his brain beat the idea of another waiting hour, he hears the cry of a child coming out the closed wood window, found in the couple's room, this was the necessary cue to break into the house again.

But taken by surprise by the younger lady, who already imagined the bustle outside, grabbed him between his arms and was little by little was throwing him out of the house for the second time, even with his cries of curiosity. The agitation was already on edge, curious and done to wait, he sums the wooden wall once, muttering for his own reasons, and quite perhaps or perhaps not, rightly so.

All he had left was to wait until there was any permission from inside for him to enter, still agonized, hearing the cries of the child with no idea about its pronoun, it was already uncomfortable, and so that his head would not worsen what was already seen as worse, in small steps Okata goes again to the barn, along with his only companion at the time, the horse, waiting for news from there.

Okata already believed that the barn would be his bed that day, so it was at 7 o'clock at night that a little light came to him, seeing the older lady opening the door of the house and waiting for him. That was his moment, he got up from the straw he was lying on and hit his pants, removing the dirt and running again, a little calmer this time. With their problems fading from the head from little by little, the cold begins to fill what were once just uncertainties.

- Well, Mr. Okata, I believe I must congratulate you... - The midwife was stood in front of the door, quiet in her smile. - Please enter -

- Yes, thank you for everything, Mrs. Emiri – He takes the old lady's hands and bows, in a gesture of respect, and without any more patience, passes into the house. And waiting for him was the younger lady, with two children covered in thick cloths on her lap, the scene could only make him laugh in little hiccups.

- It's great to see you're happy, these two are going to need that energy of yours all night. Here, it's your right to hold them a little. - She hands one of the children to Okata to hold briefly -

- Well, I can't tell you if that's a laugh of joy – he continued, smiling – It seems like I wasn't so wrong about the belly, it was impossible not to be two.

- The one you're holding is a girl, and this one is the little one you asked for so much for your wife. - The lady asked him to open his arms a little more, so the two children would fit between his chest.

- Hah, I waited so long just to make sure it was a boy, I feel like it was worth it... Oh, and by the way, how's Cassy?

The younger old woman goes towards the door, awaited by the midwife, it was very late, and they needed to go, but they do not leave Okata without answers this time. The midwife gives him what he wanted to hear.
