"Have you heard that Talents will be launched today?" A high school boy excitedly asks.
"Who doesn't know that?" One of the guys around the boy replied.
"Those who don't know that must be an idiot, everyone knows that the game was made by the government." A boy with glasses added as he fixes his hair.
"It is also known that one can earn money by playing that game. Many companies around the world invested in that game as it is a second world to be explored by us." The boy with glasses added making the two boys nod in agreement.
"Investing in the game is smart as it is the first virtual reality game in the world. If I was rich, I would do the same."
"Anyway, the launch of the game will start later this evening. Let's see each other in the game later."
"Sure."
As those boys talk, a person was curiously listening to them. The boy was holding a book and stopped listening once he heard that one can earn money from the game. He has black hair and deep brown eyes that will make others mistake them as black. He is a little fat but has a cute face that makes the girls tease him as a teddy bear. He also has a friendly aura around him so he wasn't bullied in school despite being fat, on the contrary, he has a good relationship with almost everyone.
"One can earn money from the game, huh? Hmmm."
"Hey, Meir!" A girl shouted making the boy turn around. The girl has long black hair that reaches up to her waist. She has a cap on her head, and a big grin. She is a tall person which makes other male students envy her, but she has a flat chest that makes her look like a long-haired boy.
"Oh hey, Enav." Meir sighed as he waved his hand.
"So, did you change your mind about playing Talents yet?" Enav ask as she shook Meir. This made Meir dizzy and push Enav away.
"Ugh... I think I'll play. I'm not sure yet, but hearing others say that one can earn money from the game makes me rethink."
"Just play it, I already ordered a Gaming Headset for you." Hearing this didn't make Meir shocked. He knows how rich Enav's family is.
"Fine, I'll play the game." Meir shook his head as Enav threw her fist in the air.
"That's great! Once we enter the game, we'll be unstoppable! I'll make sure to make a guild, and we'll have..." Enav started blabbering about what they'll do in the game as both of the entered their classroom.
"Hello, Meir, Enav." Some of their classmates greet them as they greet them back.
"Meir, look at Dylan. He's looking at you again hehe..." Enav started poking Meir's cheeks making him annoyed.
"Why don't you just go for Dylan? I mean look at him, he's the perfect guy that any girl would like. He's tall, handsome, and the team captain of the basketball team. He would have been perfect if he wasn't gay, ugh." Enav complains making Meir look at the guy.
"I mean you're right, there's nothing to not like about him. But that's the thing, I don't like perfect people. Most of them are hiding something dark that's what my belief always says. If something is too perfect, that's suspicious. Also, what would he even find attractive in me? Look at me, is there anything attractive?" Meir replied making him look at Dylan suspiciously.
'Oh god, Meir looked at me.' Dylan thought making him smile and wave at Meir. The other guy though just ignored it and continued talking to Enav.
"You think too much, Meir. Just give the guy a chance."
"Not a chance."
"But-"
"Go to your respective seats, everyone!" The professor shouts making all the students seat down.
---
The class ended and most of the students practically run as they want to prepare for the launching of Talents.
Meir wasn't the same as he slowly put his things in his bag.
"Hey, Meir." A deep voice that would make girls blush was heard.
"Yes?" Meir looked up and saw Dylan smiling at him. Enav can be seen in the background cheering for Meir making him scowl.
"I just want to ask if you want to go home together. We go the same way." Dylan asked with a hopeful expression.
"Do what you want." Meir says as he finished packing his bag. The guy gives him the creeps.
"Thanks." Dylan grinned while Enav was smiling as if she were a proud parent making Meir frown at her.
---
Enav went home with her driver and look at Meir as if she were saying 'don't do shady things' with a grin on her face making him want to smack the girl.
'This shipper' Meir groaned as he walks towards home. Dylan was on his side smiling making Meir groan more. We do this every day, and I still don't like it.
"Will you play Talents, later?" Dylan asked.
"Yes." Meir gave a short answer as he didn't want to entertain Dylan too much.
"Good, we should team up and play together." Meir just nodded making the guy smile more. This annoyed Meir more making him stop walking.
"Is there a problem?" Dylan asked once he noticed Meir not walking.
"Why are you doing this?"
"What?"
"Nothing." Meir continued walking and stopped talking to Dylan. This made him frown but continued walking with Dylan.
---
"Ugh, I should have asked him why he likes me. Why did I even hesitate?" Meir groaned as he looks at the box on the floor beside his bed.
[Gaming Headset]
[Talents]
6:50
'Only ten more minutes before the game starts.'
This made Meir prepare and open the box. Once opened he read the manual and started to set it up.
"Wow, 10 days in the virtual world is equivalent to 1 day in the real world. It also lets the body go into a sleeping state while playing so one can have energy when one wakes up. Technology is advancing fast. Though, one can only log in for half a day and can't exceed that as one will be forced to log out. That's fine though as I can only login that much. I start to play at 7 PM and need to wake up at 7 AM." Meir looked at the time again and it was only 2 minutes left before the launch.
Meir laid down on his bed and equipped the Gaming Headset. Soon, his consciousness was sucked into the game and his body went into a sleeping state.
