Milas woke up from the light sleep he had managed to get. The comfortable bed didn't help him at all as he had been having trouble falling asleep since his turning. His body never seemed to run out of energy as he had been absorbing mana crystals in the mines but the mental exhaustion was driving him nuts.
He got off the bed and planned to take a long shower to remove the grime that stuck to his body. Milas entered the clean room that only had an star shaped
metal on the wall. He walked closer and saw a note on the wall with some instructions. He skimmed through it and knew that it was teaching him how to use the advanced mechanism.
"This is where you will be showering. I know that you don't have experience with this so follow the instructions carefully or you may lose a limb." Milas paused his reading as he reconsidered the importance of bathing. "First, take off your clothes and leave them by the door. Then, walk to the star shaped metal and pull down the string that is hanging from the ceiling. The string will pull down a partition that allows you to see the outside but no one will see the inside.
Slowly spin the metallic star and water will spray out of the holes from the ceiling. Take a bath, wear the clean clothes that are in your wardrobe and meet me outside. IF YOU DON'T TAKE A BATH I WILL THROW YOU INTO A WELL." Milas could only stare at the words before helplessly following the instructions. He was extremely careful when handling the metallic star with fear of losing his hand. Water gushed out of the holes above him but the refreshing feeling washed away his fear and fatigue.
He left the bathroom and put on the clothes that were neatly arranged in the wardrobe. The clothes looked large but immediately contracted to fit his thin frame. Milas looked at the handsome reflection and grinned. The turning had been giving him so many improvements but this was undoubtedly one of the best. He was drop dead gorgeous and loosing his virginity no longer felt like a tall task.
Milas snapped out of his trance and walked to the front door of the mansion. He had memorized every turn and corridor to increase his chances of escape when the opportunity presented itself. He stood before the open doors and saw his master standing there.
"Greetings master, I wish to thank you for the generosity you have shown to this lowly slave." Milas was holding back his puke as he buttered up the vampire in order to get on his good side.
"That little tactic of yours will only work on snobby nobles who think they are better than everyone. You need to find another way to fool me." The vampire said with a proud voice.
"Please forgive me for my foolish attempt and I will stop trying as there is no way to overcome the wisdom you posses." Milas said with a surprisingly regretful tone.
"Seems like you're smart enough to know how amazing I... Wait, I'm impressed that you have the guts to keep trying to play on my ego." The vampire looked at him with a contemplating look. "You can show those nobles not to be too proud but I need you to get stronger if you are to show your usefulness. Then it can't be helped, I'll have to train you."
Milas was expecting a lot of things but training wasn't one of them. He didn't know what kind of torture this master of his planned to put him through under the guise of training. "I'll need to know how much knowledge you have then we can start from there." The vampire led Milas to the study before he asked him to say everything about his past.
"I lost my memory so I only remember about two years of my life." The vampire's eyes flickered with red light when he said that.
"Seems like you're not lying. Which is disappointing but it makes this conversation easier." The vampire said then gestured for Milas to continue. Milas knew that he was screwed as his initial plan to feed the vampire a bunch of half truths wouldn't work.
"I was a human being and I got captured by a vampire and turned. I was under the vampire's enslavement for a long time before an attack occured and he was killed. I passed out and woke up in the mines where I did all I could to get stronger. Strong enough to win the tournament and be free." Milas had given an oversimplified explanation of his journey.
"Basically you have no knowledge about vampires or anything for that matter. This is gonna be harder than I thought." The vampire sighed heavily before he continued. "You will have three different classes everyday for the next two months. Because school starts in two months and you need to be strong just to survive. Theory class will start early in the morning till close to noon. You will spend the afternoon in resistance training and the evening till the early hours of the night will have combat classes. That is the schedule and being late to any of these will result in punishment. Now let's start your theory lesson."
Milas was planning to ignore everything he said but his first sentence piqued Milas' interest. "Since you know nothing I will start by telling you what a vampire is and all our traits..."
The vampire told Milas that the species itself isn't a natural existence as they were created to be weapons. Their major trait of feeding on human blood was the reason for their creation. The war ended and the original vampires escaped from their creators and lived in the Darklands.
Over the years, humans were turned into vampires and the Darklands eventually became their territory. Empires and kingdoms were formed and that was when the subclasses emerged. These were humans who got turned by vampires but became something completely different. The subclasses are a topic for another day.
The most common trait of vampires is the urge to drink blood as it sustains and strengthens the species. This isn't exactly a good thing as too much blood causes eternal bloodlust that turns vampires into mindless beasts.
The other thing is weakness to the sun and the light element. Powerful vampires can gain immunity to sunlight but weak ones can be killed if exposed to it for too long. Sunlight immunity can be improved by building up resistance to it.
Another characteristic is the lack of a heartbeat. You may feel your heart pumping but that is just the blood crystal pulsing with energy. The blood crystal is like a beast crystal that is exclusive to vampires.
The other thing is the ability to control blood energy or blood aura. This is the ability to produce and control the blood red blade like objects that you saw in the tournament. That is the most basic of moves called a blood swipe. There are few basic moves that are taught to all vampires. The important thing is to learn blood hardening and blood control. These will let you use blood aura freely with the limit being your imagination and the amount of energy your blood crystal produces."
"Today's theory lesson is over so let's start resistance training. Don't worry, it will only hurt a lot." Deogratius said with a wicked grin that sent shivers down Milas' spine.
