Lenn grew up. He was 17 years old and he was ready for his first year of college. He was exited to meet his friends again, and to explore new surroundings. He was also intrigued, because this is when he's going spend almost a year without his parents.
He hugged his parents as he was about to go to the entrance. "I'll miss you mom, dad."
"We'll miss you too, call us often okay?", his mom spoke as she lets go of her son.
"Get in there and make us proud!", his dad cried.
Lenn laughed as he went inside the school, waving to his parents one more time as he entered to the building.
He went to school. He was a bit surprised that the boys were ran and played around the halls, while he saw the girls as they talked, sat, and carried the books. He ran as fast as he could until he saw the number to his dormitory room. He was relieved to escape himself from chaos as he entered the room until he saw a shirtless boy.
"Oh, hello! My name is Donnie, what's yours?", the shirtless boy turned his head as he spoke.
"Oh, my name is Lennard, but call me Lenn.", Lenn smiled.
"Nice to meet you!", welcomed Donnie.
"You too!", said Lenn as they both shook their hands.
The next day, they have class! Lenn walked along with Donnie, then he met some of his old friends and met some new ones. Lenn introduced his friends to Donnie and met one of Donnie's friend. He was delighted.
During break time, he was hanging out with his friends. When he sat at the dining table of the cafeteria along with them. It has two tables connected and seven chairs taken.
During their conversation, he noticed a girl as she sat around the table alone, and she read a book from the other side of the school garden. He told his friends that he will be back later!
"I'm going to do something."
"Okay!", said one of his friends.
He approached to the 16 year old girl who had cookies as her snack.
Her hair is in medium height, straight, and as bright as Lenn's hair. Her eyes are blue, and she's wore a uniform-like dress with white leggings.
"Hello!"
The girl looked up to the boy, but then she ignored him.
"I saw you from my class. What's your name?", said Lenn.
"Lila..", sighed the girl.
"Pretty name", said Lenn. "Why do you read while eating anyway?"
"Because I want to..?", Lila replied while she raised her eyebrow.
Lenn replied, "Do you like reading books then?"
"Of course, that's litterally my hobby.", Lila replied as she felt annoyed.
"Well I hope that your hobby isn't in the way of your food and naps.", giggled Lenn.
Lila stayed silent for at least a minute.
Lenn broke the silence, "So, are you alright being alone?"
Lila sighed, "What's your concern..?"
"Nothing much. It's only the first time I saw someone engulfed with loneliness and silence..", Lenn replied, concerned.
"I just wanted to know if you're okay, sorry.", Lenn continued.
Lila stood up as she closed her book irritably and said, "Ugh! You're so talkative and inquisitive." She was about to walk away from the table.
"WAIT!" Lenn yelled, then Lila turned around her back.
"Stay here, I'll leave.", Lenn hastily spoke. "Sorry I bothered you."
Lenn left her, yet he tried to stay calm after what she just said to him. Then he joined with his group of friends again, while Lila stayed on her table, reading her book peacefully.
A few weeks pass by, and they were having an examination coming up. Most of the students were studying hard. Lenn felt like he was ready for the test, because he remembered a lot from his previous lessons. He walked as he found his friend at one of the windows of the dormitory halls. It was one of his bestfriend since high school.
"Hello Penelope!"
"Oh hello Lenn.", she replied in a soft tone. Lenn noticed that Penelope looked all flustered and worried.
He asked as he touches her left shoulder, "What's wrong sis?"
"Oh, I'm just worried for the upcoming exam. I can't believe we passed high school, and now we have to take a certain test again for a few more years!", Penelope replied in a rush. "And it all happened so fast."
Lenn smiled, "Yes I know, like they always say, 'Study hard to get higher marks'!"
"Yeah, that's true.", she slightly smiled.
"You go study hard, I believe in you! Just pretend were in high school again, spending time with a lot of friends.", Lenn said.
"Yes, except we're on a different course.", she spoke while frowning.
"At least find someone or anyone for you to work with.", he suggested.
"I'm trying bro...", she sighed.
"Then keep trying!", Lenn spoke happily, "We weren't friends for nothing you know."
Penelope giggled, "But you're the talkative one."
Lenn spoke childlishly, "Everyone kept saying that. That's not fair!"
Penelope giggled harder.
"At least it's fun hanging out with you, and that matters.", Lenn smiled, "Besides, you share lots of stories and good stuffs."
"Okay then. Score!", Penelope cheered up, then Lenn giggled.
They hanged out, and they were strolling at the garden filled with dining tables. Penelope said to Lenn, "Hey Lenn, I'll go study now. Thanks for cheering me up mate!"
"No problem, see you later or whenever."
Lenn waved to her as she left to the corridors. He sat on the table for awhile as he smell the air. Probably the smell of the flowers, or fresh air. Then he smelled a fragrant. It's a fragrant that smells like lilies. He saw a girl who glanced at him, at the moment she came. Surprisingly, that girl who approached to him was Lila.
"Hello!", said Lenn.
Lila stared at him.
Lenn realized something, "Oh, is this your favorite place to sit? S-sorry, I-I didn't know you usually sit here.", Lenn stutters as he stood up. "I should get going now, bye."
"Erm- wait.", there's the serious voice of the girl. Lenn didn't move as Lila spoke.
"I didn't know your name yet."
Lenn turned around his back, then smiled, "My name is Lennard."
"Oh, nice to meet you. I'm Lila Anderson.", she spoke in a straight face.
Lenn said, "Oh, you already said your name. The day we met?"
Lila replied, "Oh yeah, but may I ask your full name please?"
Lenn lost his smile and sighed, "I'm Lennard Angelo White."
"I see, nice to meet you Lennard."
He smiled once again, "Oh no please, call me Lenn."
"Okay, Lenn.", said Lila.
Both of them were silent in a few minutes, listening to nature and the noise of the students.
"By the way, why didn't you want to speak to me before?", Lenn asked, "You seemed like you were angry, or intrigued.."
"It's still not of your concern, is it?", Lila replied, seemed unamused. "I was wondering, why were you all alone right now?"
Lenn replied as he smiled, "Oh, I just want to be alone for awhile."
"Even an extrovert like you?", Lila added, "You seemed like one, you have a lot of friends I noticed."
"Yes, but even he wants peace and to rest his minds from problems." Lenn calmly added, "It's best to think something more positive, and never overthink about anything especially when it comes to friends."
"I see..", Lila replied silently, "Do you have any troubles on that though?"
"Sometimes, but it's best to be supportive and look out for each other.", Lenn smiled. "It's like me and one of my bestfriends. We had our issues, but we are still A - OKAY!", he revealed a thumbs up. "Penelope's studying psychology by the way.", he informed to Lila about Penelope's course as he leaned forward to her.
Lila replied, "Oh, that's her name? How lovely."
"Yeah!"
"Erm- your course is architecture too right?" Lila asked.
"Yes I am!", Lenn replied excitedly.
"I see that you were very active.", Lila paused her sentence. "And enthusiastic."
"Well, I don't know about that.", Lenn spoke as he scratched his head.
"Then you're dumb.", Lila slightly sniggered.
"Hey, that's not nice.", Lenn slowly spoke as he lost his smile.
"Then learn how to say thank you for the compliments.", Lila spoke unamusingly.
"Well...", Lenn slightly giggled. "Well, i-is there by any chance that- well...", he silently spoke.
"I beg your pardon?", Lila asked.
"Is there by any chance that you would like to study with me for awhile?"
"Aren't you going to make fun of me?", she unamusingly asked.
"Why would I make fun of you? I just want to be friends with you, or get acquainted at least.", he spoke calmly.
Lila sighed. She did not like the idea of that, although she made up her mind.
"Well, I guess I could use some company.", she finally answered.
"Right on!", Lenn yelled happily.
