My name is Noah, if you are reading this, you found my journal. Let me tell you how all this started before we get to our current issues of life threatening events and romance that could fall apart within minutes.
I was six when I met Tyler. He was only a year older than me. We became good friends right out of the gate. Our first interaction went like this:
Our mothers already knew each other and decided to bring us to the park so they could chat. I was shy and didn't like meeting new people. It was scary to me at the time. I hid behind my mother as the other woman who I'd only seen once or twice, that I can remember, introduced Tyler.
"This is Tyler. He is seven and he is weirdly serious. If something happened, he would tell me and the only thing I could do was believe him because he'd be so serious about it. He almost never exaggerates and is never sarcastic about important things." His mother had said.
"Well," My mother said cheerfully, "My boy is very explorative and loves to write and draw all sorts of things. When he was five he drew me a beautiful rose! It was one of his first drawings too. I believe you have seen him before, but I don't know if Tyler has."
I looked around my mother's leg, still thinking that I was entirely hidden from the outside world. Tyler was only an inch taller than me. His hair, a golden blond. a grand contrast against my dark brown hair. When he sees me and turns towards me, I duck behind my mother again.
Our parents started to meet together more and more and they would have me and Tyler in a room together so that we could play or do something while they talked about all sorts of things. Eventually I got used to Tyler and started to admire him for his knowledge about stuff I never knew. We started to hang out together at the park that was nearby. I'd always get myself into some sort of trouble or precarious situation. Tyler always looked out for me and got me back to our parents before anything majorly bad happened.
Tyler's parents soon began to leave him at home while they went to work at their jobs. It'd take them the full day to return, but I'd always go over to his house and stay with him to keep him company.
I loved those times.
