I flutter my eyes open to the sound of a clock, tick-tock, it plays in my mind. The sound took me back to my father's study. His study was filled with silly things, legos, bottled ships, and old guns hung on the wall. Old photos were stuck on a bulletin board. My father looked so happy in the pictures, smiling, and laughing. He was young and lively in the images, his study had life. He always told me to stay out of his study, and that he was working too hard to have someone interrupt him. For some reason I always felt as if I was being lied to, I felt like he was hiding. He didn't want to show weakness. Sometimes I would hide behind the corner when my mother would go in there. She always called him childish and sometimes, I would hear legos hit the floor. The pieces would come flying out of the room, and I would wait for my mother to leave. She would slam the door as if she was mad, I couldn't understand why she would be mad. I would watch her head to the kitchen and hear her pouring something. My mother has always been a drinker, but it wasn't as bad as it is now. I would eye the legos on the floor, my eyes would scan the halls, watch the door, and listen for footsteps before going over and picking them all up and hiding them in my pocket. "Miss?" I hear a voice call as my eyes get used to the dim but bright forest. "Hello?" The person called as I looked up at them. There in front of me, stood a boy, he wore a suit like the ones you would see on tv or the one's servants would wear. He had gray-white hair, a thorny crown of bright red roses, and "Bunny ears?" I questioned as he looked annoyed at me. "It seems you're fine, so I must be on my way," He said as he stared at the pocket watch that ticked. "Wait" I got up slowly, scared I might fall again. I watched as he walked away, ignoring me. "Where am I?" I called out to him, slowly starting to go after him. "You're in Wonderland of course" He spoke with a smirk. "Wonderland?" I was confused by his words. Where the hell is Wonderland? Where is home? How do I leave? I had so many questions but all I could say was "Oh…" I think I'm in shock. "Why do you have bunny ears?.." I asked him as I followed him. "Why did you chase me?" He questioned me back. "Chase you? Why would I do that?" I didn't know him. "I never even met you"
"In the woods..you chased me '' He looked back at me.
"The woods..?"
"Yes, the woods"
"Mr rabbit?!" I spoke in shock, I mean it makes sense. The rose, the ears.
I hear him chuckle. "Call me, Enzo"
"How can you be a rabbit? I mean it explains the ears but how?" I questioned the boy, "Because I'm a rabbit..?" He talked to me as if it was obvious. "But your human" He shook his head, "I'm a rabbit" He spoke softly as we reached a small door. It was wooden and looked old. "I just look human to you," He said before becoming a small rabbit again. "Huh?" I watched as he hopped to the door, "Wait, Enzo" I called, "Where am I? Where are you going?" I asked in a panic. I hate the thought of being alone and in a place, I don't know but he ignored every question and hopped right through the door. The door shut loudly just like how my father shuts doors. I just stared at the small wooden pet door, too small for me to fit in. I sat next to the door as I tried to understand what to do. I couldn't think of anything, it reminded me of how my father called my mom an airhead. Maybe I'm an airhead too.
