Kaito sat up to the sound of birds chirping. He looked around the room in a daze. "where am I.." he mumbled. "the infirmary" a woman's voice said from the side of his bed. Kaito turned to see who it was and his eyes widened.
Shio sat before him but why? "Oh it's you." he muttered. "WHAT'S THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?!" she said with her fist raised. Kaito giggled before waving his hand for her to calm down.
"Nothing really, why are you here anyhow?" he asked. "I- I'm here because... I was told to by the white haired boy" she said with a flustered face.
"truth is I came here on my own free will..." she thought to herself. "Well in any case, it was cool fighting you although I don't really remember anything after being slammed into the wall" he stated.
Shio sat in silence as she remembered what he said to her back at the sparing room. "Oh well I'll leave you be" she said as she stood up. As she left the room, she peaked her head back into the room.
"Although you probably won't be able to participate, there's going to be a free for all in the sparing room later today." she stated. "Wait what?" Kaito said in confusion. "Yeah, and it will determine everyone's rank and power scaling." Shio said before pulling her head away from the door and walking away.
Kaito sighed and rolled onto his back to face the ceiling. "As painful as this school is, it's actually quite nice." he smirked as he slowly fell asleep.
Later that day everyone gathered by the sparing room, they're hollers echoed through the corridors of the school. As the students were let into the room, a huge screen appeared before them. A man walked into view on the screen and waved his hand.
"Today you will be ending the day off with a free for all fight." he explained, his voice sounding somewhat professional. "It's very similar to your first fight when you came here, however you shall be viewed by the council who will then determine your rank." he said. The screen suddenly zipped out of existence and a timer appeared above them.
The students powered up and began fighting like their lives depended on it. Off to the far side of the room stood Yuto and Akari. The two chatted a bit before powering up as well.
"So you did figure out how to use your abilities then?" she said, her head slightly tilted to the left. "Yeah, those classes helped me have a better understanding on how they work." he said with his usual bright smile. "Well you best be ready for what I'm going to throw at you!"
Yuto raised his fist preparing to fight. Massive hawk like wings sprouted out from akaris back, a bright blue aura surrounding them. Yutos eyes slightly widened but he tried not to let it phase him.
She dashed towards him, swinging her wings at him. Yuto shielded himself with his arms right before she hit him. "Nice block" she said before going in for another attack.
A bright white tail suddenly sprouted out of Yutos back. It glowed so bright, akari stopped and shielded her eyes. Using this opportunity, Yuto ran towards her while charging up an attack with his tail. When he got close enough, Yuto swung his tail with all his might at Akari, which sends her flying into a wall.
Akari coughed and groaned as she landed on the ground. "Sorry, I didn't mean to hit you that hard!" he shouted across the room. Yuto turned right as he got hit with a huge blast. The blast sent him rolling across the floor.
Kuragari walked towards him, his aura more potent than ever before. "I still remember what happened back at the competition and i'm here for revenge." he said to Yuto with a disgusted face. "This time your friend won't be here to intervene."
Large purple crystals surrounded Kuragari as he walked closer to Yuto. He began shooting the crystals into Yutos body. He cried in pain as the crystals pierced his body. "I can't move..." Yuto mumbled.
"That's because these crystals are made from a poison that cuts off the ability to move for anyone who is inflicted with it." he stated. "Paralysis poison.." Yuto muttered as he tried to stand up to no avail.
Akari dashed towards kuragari just to get hit off to the side. He glanced over at her for a moment before turning his attention back to Yuto. Kuragari kneeled down to Yuto and spat on his face. He then grabbed Yuto by the arm and used all his strength to throw him into the wall.
Yuto coughed up blood as he hit the wall at high speeds. Kuragari slowly approached Yuto as he charged up another attack, this time being a fatal one. He suddenly shot a large purple beam at Yuto, a smirk formed on his face as he did so.
Yutos life flashed before him as the beam got closer. In a flash, Akari jumped in front of the attack sending her right into the wall. Her body then fell to the ground, lifeless. Yuto looked in terror as he looked at Akari, his eyes slowly widening.
"WHAT DID YOU DO YOU BASTARD!" Yuto shouted, his voice cracking as he cried out. Kuragari gave no response other than a smirk and a chuckle.
Yuto began glowing as his tail sprouted out again. In what looked like a flash of light, Yuto flew towards Kuragari at supersonic speeds. A shockwave from Yuto and Kuragaris collision sent most of the people in the room back a couple of feet.
Kuragari laughed as he lowered his arms. Yuto looked in shock, "But how...I hit you with full strength!?" Yuto asked. "It's simple, I'm just better." Kuragari made a fist and pulled his arm back. With all his might, Kuragari punched him in the gut knocking the wind out of him.
Yuto coughed as he tried to catch his breath. Kuragari let go of him allowing him to fall to the ground. He then proceeded to kick and stomp on Yuto as he cried out in pain. "Kaito... Please..." Yuto murmured.
Kuragari backed up and charged an attacked aimed right at Yutos head. "YUTO!" a voice cried out in the distance. "K-Kaito?" he coughed.
Kaito looked in horror as he saw his best friend laying on the ground along with Akari. Looking back up at Kuragari, Kaito gritted his teeth. He still walked with a limp and should still be in the infirmary but it didn't matter. Kaito looked at him with bloodlusted eyes.
Kuragari turned to look at Kaito with a massive smile on his face. A massive amount of rage filled Kaitos body as he looked at his smile. "I'M GOING TO KILL YOU" Kaito dug his nails into his palms, nearly piercing his skin. "That's the spirit bud" Kuragari said trying to antagonise Kaito for the hell of it.
A dark aura began to surround Kaito, his eyes turning completely black but his pupils glowed a bright red. Several tails flung out the back side of Kaito as he walked towards Kuragari. His aura gave off the scent of death and despair. Kaito reached his leg out as if he was going to run. As his foot hit the ground, he disappeared in a instant.
He suddenly reappeared in front of Kuragari in just mere zeptoseconds after vanishing.
