Chapter 12 - Old man

It was a dark and stormy night when the old man decided to take a walk down to the old haunted house. He had heard all the stories about the place, but he was a man of bravery and curiosity, so here he was, standing in front of the dilapidated building.

The old man slowly opened the door and stepped inside, the creaking of the hinges echoing through the empty hallways. He cautiously made his way through the house, the only light coming from the occasional bolt of lightning outside.

As he walked through the house, he noticed strange things happening. The paintings on the walls seemed to move, and he could hear the faint sound of laughter coming from the empty rooms. He kept his wits about him and continued on, determined to make it to the end of the house.

Finally, he reached the end of the hall and saw a large door. He grabbed the handle, took a deep breath, and opened it. What he saw inside was more than he could have ever imagined.

The room was filled with furniture and decorations, all of which seemed to be from a different time and place. The walls were adorned with old paintings, and the floor was littered with items of all shapes and sizes. In the center of the room was an old rocking chair, with a figure sitting in it.

The figure was a woman, her face covered in a veil. She didn't move or speak, but simply stared at the old man with a penetrating gaze. He felt his heart racing as he stood in the doorway, not sure if he should proceed any further.

After what seemed like an eternity, the woman finally spoke. "Welcome," she said in a voice that was both soft and cold. "I have been expecting you. Please, come in and sit."

The old man took a seat in the rocking chair, and the woman began to tell her story. She spoke of a great tragedy that had occurred in the house many years ago, and how she and the other spirits had been trapped inside ever since. She said that if the old man helped her and the other spirits, they would be free to leave the house and move on.

The old man was hesitant at first, but eventually agreed to help the spirits in any way he could. He spent the entire night in the haunted house, doing whatever he could to help the spirits. When the sun finally rose, the old man was exhausted but content. He had
