"My dream... Eternal life and beauty..." [Mother Holle]
"You know... Master Merlin always said that those who dared to stray from her teachings would suffer. I don't pity you at all, for you have not taken an ounce of her advice. Even in your current state, I would say you deserve what you get... But as a fellow witch and disciple of the same master, may the Goddess judge you fairly" [Diana].
Everyone has their own story, be it happy, sad, normal or even uneventful. I'm sure she had her own reasons for seeking eternal life and beauty, for whatever reason. But what she did was unforgivable. Sacrificing others just for the sake of her own beauty and power, even tormenting peaceful souls.
"We are free"
"Kill her! Kill her!"
"I hate you! Suffer as you have done to us".
As I try to cleanse THE THING from Mother Holle, the souls continue to curse her. Understandable. It's loud and it hurts my brain, but I don't even ask them to be quiet. They at least deserve to be angry with her. I couldn't bring her back to life and they still have their lingering regret, one that they wanted to take revenge on, especially the royalty of Bhutan after all this is done.
"Your soul... Beautiful..." [Mother Holle]
"Thank you" [Diana]
"Where did I go wrong..." [Mother Holle]
"I... I don't know. All I know is that you are definitely on the wrong path" [Diana]
"Wrong... Hmph... I didn't" [Mother Holle]
"Still refuse to admit it. Whatever. All that matters now is that you lost and we won" [Diana].
Some people just refuse to admit their mistakes, and she's definitely one of them. Even in death, I can see that she still thinks that she didn't do anything wrong.
"Master Merlin. Tell her, if I had known this was going to happen, I wish we had never met" [Mother Holle].
"I'm sure she wouldn't wish that" [Diana].
"She saved my life and now, because of her... Anyway... Tell her that" [Mother Holle].
"Refuse. It will only hurt her" [Diana].
I'll keep this as a secret or so I thought
"Well, I certainly don't regret taking you as my apprentice, but I do regret not trying hard enough to stop you from going further astray" [Merlin].
Master Merlin communicates with us through Fie. Even with her almost gouged out eyes, bleeding and cursing, I can tell that she's surprised by this.
"At least you will teach my dear Diana and my two other dear apprentices a valuable lesson and that's to never be a stray" [Merlin].
"As usual... Nagging non stop" [Mother Holle].
"That's because I still considered you one of my pupils, but alas, not even I can plead with the Goddess for all you have done. As little Diana said, may the Goddess judge you justly" [Merlin].
Master Merlin may not be able to hear, but I can tell she's sad. Even Mother Holle, in her final moment of death, can tell that her master is holding back a tear. As she dies, the souls tormenting her body, ravaging it nonstop, I turn my gaze and begin to heal Princess Ayaka. My body is definitely out of mana, but this is a state I am used to by now. I can still squeeze out a little bit of mana to heal Princess Ayaka, which is then quickly taken over by Sir Wandering Sage and Miss Falmer.
"I am..." [Ayaka]
"Thank goodness you're awake." [Diana]
"Lady Diana Vars...? I'm sorry... Am I dreaming?" [Ayaka]
I am not a healer. I know the basics of healing magic, and that's after extensive homework and Healing Fairy Shifa drilled it into my head. Anyway, I'm sure she's just tired. I can't feel anything wrong with her, and everyone else agrees. If anything, she's just confused about what happened.
"The kidnappers!? Where are they?" [Ayaka]
"Calm down. Listen to me. I'll explain everything" [Diana]
She's 2 years older than me and 2 years younger than Dana, but I'm the closest in age to her here, and I know her personally, so I'm sure she'll feel more comfortable with me around and accept what I tell her.
"And that's basically the whole story" [Diana].
"I see... So... are you going to bless me now?" [Ayaka]
"In your current state? No. Your body will only react negatively to our blessing" [Yuki-Ona Queen]
That's understandable. I mean, after being blessed by all the fairies, who knows how many days I passed out before the meeting that changed my life.
"Lady Diana Vars, you said you wanted to climb to the top of Mount Olympus?" [Ayaka]
"That is correct" [Diana].
"If you don't mind, may I join you?" [Ayaka]
"!" [All]
