"And now that you have begun to run out of mana, we will begin the count. Start firing 50 fireballs in 2 minutes" [Sas].
"Right!" [Diana]
"I'll do it!" [Dana]
Today we have our usual training with the whole family. Sas instructs us both, or rather, he puts us both through a strenuous magic exercise. He joins in as well. Since he's a natural user of the elements fire, earth and wind, he's been casting spells related to these elements over and over again. His water element rod is used exclusively when he's in battle, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't practice water-related spells, just not on a grand scale.
"I did it... A little behind compared to you, but I still did it" [Dana].
"That's because of my blessing, so I have an easier time" [Diana].
"Don't put yourself down. I'm sure you're actually capable of doing this without even using your blessing" [Sas].
"I agree. My little sister is the most talented mage after all" [Dana]
"Meoow!" [Fie]
"Thank you, you three" [Diana]
It's hard, but it's fun when we practice together. We take a short break to watch the four of them spar.
"Haaa!" [Jean]
"Too slow!" [Nar]
"Pseudo-Berserker!" [Randy]
"Steel Fist!" [Khamisah]
Those four still keeping their sparing without a break in between, they don't have a specific target in mind. They just keep attacking, keeping their guard up and their wits about them. For Nar, he also keeps his aura sword at a minimum as a form of training, so he can control it better.
Randy, instead of Amok, uses Pseudo Berserker to keep pressure on himself. I can tell his muscles are about to reach their limit, but he goes beyond that for today's training.
Jean, with her wind magic, continues to cloak herself with one. Wind thrust, tailwind, wind shield. Even her swordplay uses the element of wind to her advantage. She gets the attention of the fairy wind sylph in me.
Khamisah continually compresses and releases her neutral mana with each strike. Not only that, but she also concentrates her mana on the area she's about to hit, rather than just strengthening her entire body. This is her way of further maximizing her mana control.
Dana, not wanting to be left behind, suddenly picks up her Gungnir and joins the fray. The four are caught off guard, but quickly adapt. Dana tried to activate her Blessing again, but again she couldn't, but I get the feeling that's why she rushed in, so she could finally activate her Blessing at will.
"She's getting more reckless... But in a good way" [Sas].
"I hope she doesn't push herself too hard" [Diana].
"For you, she will" [Sas]
"I'm happy, but... I hope she doesn't... She's the only one left..." [Diana]
"And that's what she felt too. You're the only one she has. Just as you don't want to be separated from her again, she feels the same" [Sas].
I know that. I am sure that Dana wanted to become stronger just to protect me from any harm.
"Are you and Nar thinking the same thing?" [Diana]
"Don't tell him this... But we do... If it weren't for Khamisah, who knows what would become of us. Fortunately, the Goddess granted our prayer and since that day we have been constantly improving ourselves, even today we are still doing so" [Sas].
"It must be hard" [Diana].
"It is, but I would rather feel this pain than the pain of losing. As you grow up, you have more and more to protect, and with that comes more strength. Even more so now that we have both of you" [Sas].
He said it like those strength will come naturally. Sas is a bit awkward with words. Just like Alaric and Aya, he's the type who keeps to himself because words aren't his strongest point, so I'm sure what he wanted to say is that strength will come, but you have to work at it and not take it for granted. At least, that's what I understood from what he just said.
"Shall we continue?" [Diana]
"You don't want to rest?" [Sas]
"Not yet! I can still go on!" [Diana]
"This is my little sister. Always ready. In that case, how about we take it one step further?" [Sas]
He activates his miasma and starts throwing spells left and right at me. It doesn't have the slightest killing intent, but it's still dangerous. One of the greatest mages in Amleth, and perhaps the entire continent. With his miasma activated, a simple fireball spell becomes a scorching ball. I have to keep my spell up, too, and I don't want to be on the receiving end, so I keep attacking him.
He still has the advantage. After all, he is the hero of Amleth. I'm getting a bit frustrated, so I try different spells and suddenly I get a feeling. As if I am able to do something amazing, and then it clicks for me.
"OUCH!" [Diana]
"What was that?" [Sas]
"Hey!" [Nar]
"Are you okay?" [Jean]
"What just happened?" [Dana]
"You look tired. Thank God it's not a major injury" [Khamisah]
"Careful there. Training should do more good than harm, not the other way around" [Randy]
"Randy is right. Can you tell us what you wanted to do just now?" [Nar]
"Well..." [Diana]
I tell them what I was just thinking. A new spell I wanted to make.
"You're trying to create what..." [Dana].
"I mean, us normal people wouldn't be able to do it, but maybe it's possible if it's you" [Sas].
"Definitely worth a try. How about I help you with it today" [Nar]
"Me too! I'm not as skilled as you, but I'm happy to help" [Dana].
"I think it will be better for me to join in as well. Having that in your arsenal will at least make me feel more at ease if something happens to you" [Jean].
"I agree. Alright, how about we all pitch in" [Randy]
"Agreed. A mage creating a new spell. It's something you don't see every day" [Khamisah]
"Meow" [Fie]
"Thank you, all of you" [Diana]
I get the gist of it, but where do I start?
