Baladan and Rosa had begun running through the halls. Any of the Shadow Corpses that have wondered into the building had been instantly cut down by either Baladan or Rosa.
Ironically, just with the few stragglers in the hallways Rosa had leveled to 4 after the school cleaning they had done yesterday.
Bal: "Assign your points. I'm going up the stairs to see what happened to our scout and what is causing that banging!"
With the bell stopping the only loud sound was the constant banging happening on the roof. This was horrible news! Without the bell ringing the sound is most likely to draw the horde!
———
Another call had been made to one of the team leaders. This time it was to Rick, he immediately picked it up and listened to the scout.
"Sir! It's not good! The Shadow Corpses! The horde is getting closer to the school! Oh My God! They have started to funnel themselves into the front door! They are going through the windows as well!"
Rick: "Everyone get ready! The horde is on its way into the building! Get those windows blocked up extra tight! They are breaking into the building however they can!"
Harry immediately acted, using his shadows he tore apart the stacked up tables. Using the longer tables to block up the windows directly instead of just sitting the tables in front of the windows.
Harry: "Everyone who is an Aura user help out the weaker people to block the windows! We have to stand our ground and slaughter as many as we can! Everyone hold onto the tables! If they get in through the windows we are dead!"
It didn't take long for the Shadow Corpses to start filling the halls heading to the cafeteria. Lucky it's a narrow hallway, with Rick in front he summoned his armor and sword before holding the line with large cleaving attacks sending them back to the grave where they belong!
Chris had another idea, with his ability he would be more effective outside raining down hell on the horde!
Chris: "I'm going to the second floor! I'll get on top of the cafeteria and blast them from the top! If you need me at any point call!"
With his Lightning Control ability he had the ability to perfectly manipulate lightning meaning his imagination was the limit! With his tutorial also teaching him the basics of sorcery he could also unleash powerful magical attacks when needed.
Instantly the moment he stepped into the hall lightning covered his feet as he ran faster then most could even see towards the stairs.
Harry: 'Bal… you better come back soon after you kill that damn bird or none of us will be here by the time you come back!'
———
Baladan had come face to face with the banging, there right in front of him was a human in pain with a broken arm and leg. He was bleeding out on the floor trying to crawl away from the creature.
"B-boss! Please help me! That beast is going to break through the wall any minute!"
Baladan calmly examined the situation, with the cracks getting bigger and bigger by the second he decided to first pull the scout down to the 3rd floor before walking back up to face the beast.
Bal: "You don't want to go back to the bottom floor right now. I can only guess that the Shadow Corpses have started to gather down there. Just sit here and find something to help yourself as I take out that bird"
He quickly left the scout in a relatively safe place, with all of the students having run from the 3rd floor to the second before getting trapped in and most likely killed by all the creatures in the halls mainly cleared out the 3rd floor.
With the commotion of the Shadow Behemoth from before the floor had been empty of corpses once they all came down to the second floor.
Now Baladan had been standing at the door with a large beak the size of his body trying to clamp down onto him.
Bal: "Your breath really stinks"
Those were the only words that he said before activating his Pure Aura and slamming his fist into its beak the moment it closed.
Of course he equipped the mask moments before, this was a precaution. He may have gotten stronger but he wasn't cocky! Thinking you know and knowing something is completely different!
If he knew for sure he was stronger then the beast without the mask then he would just take it out immediately. Unfortunately he didn't know so he wouldn't take chances.
The moment his fist connected with the beak of the creature a loud cracking sound echoed through the stairwell. The moment his Aura covered fist slammed into its beak it had cracked and started to shatter!
This made the creature reel back screeching to the sky. When Baladan stepped out onto the roof, he looked up at the beast what he saw was a massive falcon like creature. It's body had a tough time perching on the roof of the building, the being was just barely able to stay on top while attacking the door up to the roof.
It had to spread out its wings and lean in to spread on and over the roof of the whole building just to try and get that worm it saw before. Instead of the worm it got a powerful punch to the mouth making its head fling back!
It's talons slipped as it beat its wings trying to grip onto the building and pull itself up as it attacks. With his Aura protection he effectively blocked the half broken beak, only to be suddenly grabbed in its mouth as it fell off the building into the horde of Shadow Corpses!
Bal: "Damn bird! You think I'll die with you! Hell no!"
While he is in it's mouth he began to beat the roof of its mouth, he even used the axe slamming it with all his might! Immediately the axe head cleaved through the unprotected flesh only to have the handle to the axe snap in the next second!
Bal: "I really need a new weapon! Damnit!"
He had forcibly torn open the flesh inside its mouth digging into its head through the back of its throat. The moment he reached something hard he slammed his fists into it! Over and over again he barraged the hard object before it snapped in half.
[Congratulations! You have slain a level 21 First Circle Hunter Falcon! You gain 5,000 exp!]
Exp: 8,450 (Next Level: 14,000)
Bal: "A First Circle Already!? What the hell did this Falcon do in its past life and this life to be able to hit First Circle in 2 days!?"
With that the body of the creature continues to fall until it collided with the horde. Many of the Shadow Corpses were killed upon impact from the massive body of the bird.
Baladan quickly pulled himself out of the mouth of the creature and began to walk along its body heading for the front entrance. With his title equipped the Shadow Corpses left him alone, what happened next however terrified him.
Bal: 'Each time a Shadow Corpse is created it doubles the strength of the being turned right…'
He had been standing at the entrance of the school looking into the parking lot where the body of the Hunter Falcon was being swarmed by the Shadow Corpses.
Fortunately for the survivors the loud crash and the massive meal that landed on them had drawn the undead back to the parking lot.
Unfortunately the Shadow Corpses had dog piled on top of the Falcon. It took minutes for the body of the beast to no longer be seen in the swarm of undead. In a instant however Baladan felt a cold chill run up his spine!
When he looked into the pile of undead he saw something large start to move.
Bal: 'No! I killed it already! Don't tell me the Shadow Corpses can bite the dead and bring them back! This is horrible!'
He couldn't do anything but watch as the falcons body started to get up, the once brown feathers now dyed black. It's eyes filled with a green light while it's mouth foamed with a deeper version of the light.
Bal: 'The only reason I won so easily was because it had landed on the roof and didn't expect me to be able to hurt it! Now what do I do!? That thing will destroy everything if it decides to attack the school!'
He had never felt so hopeless, the only time he felt something similar was during the time his father beat his mother with an ashtray.
The feeling of powerlessness, the rage building up inside. He could do nothing but watch as the creature stood tall resurrected as a new undead.
Bal: 'Is this it for them? Will this beast just slam through the school and kill everything and everyone it comes across? Will I just sit here and watch as the friends I have made so far die in front of my eyes…?'
???: 'What are you thinking about…? You have such fine control over death and yet you don't use it… such a waste. If you aren't going to use your power as a sorcerer then why bother having it?'
