Chereads / THE ART OF 'JUSTICE" / Chapter 34 - Chapter 34

Chapter 34 - Chapter 34

"Buddy, I'm on my way to the airport", I texted Jack.

"Can I see you? For the last brother hug", he typed in sadness.

"No buddy"

"Terribly heavy inside, knowing I'll never see my best friend again", he said.

"I feel the same way. Our separation shouldn't be like this. What can I do", I said.

"Time will bring us back", I said.

"I hope so. Take care and have a safe flight, buddy" he said.

"You too. Send my regards to Emma" I said.

"Will do"

I never imagined leaving my best friend would cause me grief. I never considered that this day would come to pass.

I arrived at the airline's runway and hopped on the scheduled plane. Nothing can stop me now.

I let out a deep sigh. My plan proceeded smoothly, without any hitch. I leaned back and beamed at the vast blue sky devoid of a swarm of clouds. I shut my eyes, waiting for my presence in our future home.

Hours had passed, the plane was preparing to land.

As the plane touched the ground, my joy became unstoppable. My body boosts me to jump and dance inside the plane. I stepped out. I watched the beautiful sunny day welcoming my arrival. I breathed fresh air and climbed down the stairs.

An officer came up to me and handed me my car key. I shoved my suitcase in the trunk.

I got into the driver's seat, started the engine, and headed towards my home. Today feels more distinct, shining than yesterday.

I've never been so excited about hearing the word home. But it's different when you're surrounded by people who love you wholeheartedly.

I accelerated my car, as happiness surpassed me.

I entered the gate, halt before our future house. I pressed the button multiple times, the ring echoed through the house.

"Coming!"

Isabella

I tilted my head against the wall.

"Luke!", her eyes gleaming.

She jumped onto me and sealed my lips, releasing our longing.

"You made it!", she embraced me.

"I longed for this caress", I said.

"Oh, I'm craving you day and night", she said.

She kissed my forehead.

"Let's get you in", Isabella dragged my suitcase in.

"Mom, Dad! Look who's here", Isabella shouted.

Isabella's parents darted into the living room.

"Son, we've been waiting for you", He embraced me.

"Not a day without waiting for your presence, with joy and worry wading through us." said Isabella's mother.

"We are relieved to see you again", said Isabella's mother, with a smile.

"We are safe now, we can enjoy our life from now on", I said.

"No more talking. I made your favorite dish. Let's eat before the food gets cold", said Isabella.

"Thank god! My stomach is growling" I said.

We relished the food with full enjoyment and tranquility in our chests.

After lunch, Isabella put her fingers in mine and guided me upstairs.

"This is our room. I redecorated. What do you think?", said Isabella.

I cupped her face, "I adore it. Most when you're close to me"

I planted a kiss on her brow.

"Go get some rest, I'll tidy up your clothes", she said.

"Thanks" I said.

She pinched my nose with her two fingers. "No thanks between us, bastard!". She laughed.

"Sorry", I said

I tossed my leather jacket on the bed. I lay down.

After tidying up Luke's clothes, Isabella tugged a leather jacket that lightly crushed beneath Luke's feet, and hung it on the chair.

She laid her head on Luke's chest and folded him till drowsiness embraced her.

We woke up from deep sleep.

"I can't go on with my life without you next to me", I said.

"My days are arduous without you by my side", I said.

"The day you disappeared, half of my soul was lost. I can't do anything but wait for you", she said.

"It won't happen again, I cross my heart", I said.

She smiled while pecking my knuckles.

"What's next?", she asked.

"Our Wedding", I said.

"I take Luke as my husband."

"I take Isabella as my wife"

We laughed.

The next day, we were ready to venture out.

"Our first destination?", I fastened my seat belt.

"Church", Isabella ticked the list on the notepad.

We sat in the church, conversing with Father Andrew about our upcoming wedding.

Our weeks were filled with busyness for our simple wedding, from clothes, food, decorations, and event arrangements. As well, our friendly neighbors contributed to it.

(Back to the Abrams & Jack POV)

"Where's my son? They claim that he was never there", said Silas.

"Alert our men to look for him, it's been weeks", said Delores.

"Don't panic. It's all part of his plan", said Shane.

"What are you trying to say?", Silas asked.

"There are no such huge issues in the project. He made it up. He tricked you, brother, as you did to him", said Shane.

"Means he's with her", said Scott.

"In amazement, Isabella's parents have moved", said Shane.

"They are all together now", said Scott.

"This is what will happen if you strongly side with your child", said Seth.

"Sometimes you have to let us do what we're supposed to do without getting in our way", said Seth.

"I have a bad feeling," said Delores.

"No! This can't be happening!" exclaimed Silas.

"FIND HIM IMMEDIATELY! BRING HIM HOME AT ALL COSTS", said Silas.

"PART THEM UP!", said Silas.

"Beforehand, we need to know his location. There's only one person who knows everything, Jack", said Shane.

"Call him up!", said Silas.

Scott called Jack.

Jack casually walked into the living room, where Abrams members had assembled.

"What's up?", Jack

"Sit down, Jack". They stared at Jack viciously.

Judging by their faces, clearly, Luke matters.

"Where's Luke?", asked Silas.

"How do I know? Didn't you prison him in his heaven room?", said Jack

"Jack, I sent him to solve some issues. He was never there!", said Silas.

"You certainly know where he is!", said Silas.

"I'll tell you what, since Matchday." said Jack

Seth scowled at Jack, "Sorry. We haven't seen or even contacted each other since that day."

"Whenever I reached out to him, he kept saying I'm occupied."

He pulled out his phone, pushed it toward Silas. "You can inspect it if you desire to."

"Not to be rude, you should know where your son is. You've got your eyes everywhere, Mr. Silas", said Jack

"Don't raise my temper, Jack. Tell me the truth! I'll give you anything you want", said Silas.

"Or this day will be your match day kid", said Seth.

"Even if you beat me to death, my answer will remain the same. I don't know", Jack smiled.

Jack picked an apple from the table, he nibbled on it, and said, "Gotta change your guards, Mr. Silas"

"I'm leaving, loads of work in the office. Bye and good luck on finding Luke Abrams", said Jack

"Be alert, your whole family has found out about your escape from Shane the genius", Jack warned me via an app.

"Abrams move slow lately. Anyway, I appreciate the caution", said Luke.

"I'll keep an eye on them," said Jack

"Hope your shrewd idea goes well. And, I've good news too," said Luke.

"Isabella and I will wed in the coming days" he announced.

"Scott, hold a competition! 1 million dollars will be awarded to whoever locates my son!", Said Silas

"We can't go public, the press will boost this issue", said Scott.

"Besides, he'll be cautious about the situation, and disappear again", said Seth.

"News about our family will overflow. It's better if we merely declare it with our insiders", Shane stated.

"DO IT NOW! Instruct them, tell the people around them about the contest, make it public but private!", Silas.

The three brothers rushed into a meeting room in Silas's palace. They connected everyone through the big screen. They had conferences and instructed Silas's orders.

When they ended the conference, the insiders did their job, commanding the important people in each place, to spread the word.

The plan went smoothly. They got a lot of information, but nothing was matched. Several days passed until Silas received news from one of his men, which was a huge breakthrough for The Abrams.

"Shane, book our tickets! We must put an end to whatever happens in there before it's too late!", said Silas.

"NO MORE MERCY FOR THEM! THEY'RE GOING TO PAY THE CONSEQUENCES!", said Silas.

"Seth, do what you have to do! Take both your brothers with you!", said Silas.

Seth put on an evil smile, "The moment I've been waiting for."

"I haven't done this in a long time, let's dust them up!", said Shane.

The Abrams is suited in black. They boarded their private plane.

(Luke POV)

I was in the groom's room, preparing myself to walk down the aisle.

I never imagined myself as a groom. Here I am, crazy in love with my one, ready to take her as my wife. Every pulse in my chest beats for her. This soul, this body, belongs to her. Until the end of our lives.

"Son, may I?", Isabella's father knocked on my door.

"Please enter", I said.

Isabella's father walked in with a few male neighbors who had aided us from the beginning.

He put his arm around me, "How do you feel?"

"Nervous and blossomed", I said.

"Still, you look calm, unlike me on my wedding day."

"The second I wore my wedding suit, I wanted to pull Isabella's mom down the aisle, slip the ring on her finger, kiss her and go back home. My bad I had to wait for hours", he said.

"After making her mine, the best feeling I ever had", he said.

"Just simple things. Though it takes a long way to get there", I said.

"That's life. Every small step we take, we never know the big development we build within us", he said.

"We never saw ourselves as a married couple. We let things go with the flow until life makes us a sacred couple," he said.

"I still can't believe my first love is my wife", he blushed.

"We had a similar love story. My first love is going to be my wife", I said.

"In a different ending", he said.

We chatted as I blurred the nervousness that clung to me.

"Can I see my wife?", I asked.

He patted my shoulder, "I know you're being impatient, now get out, stand as a groom", he said.

Accompanied by my two older neighbors, I walked down the aisle with jolly flooding me.

I stood up, waiting for my future wife.

Isabella walked arm in arm with her father. A transparent cloth covered her beautiful face, with a white gown enveloped her curves.

He placed Isabel's hand into mine, he squeezed both our hands, and said, "Long life and blissful life for both of you"

Then he pushed himself aside next to his wife.

Father Andrew began the ceremony with preaching followed by a prayer. Next, "We will start the wedding by exchanging vows"

"I'll let you decide who goes first", said father Andrew.

"You go first", she said.

"We do it together", I said.

I take you to be my wife, Luke

I take you to be my husband, Isabella

To have and to hold, Luke

From this day forward, Isabella

For better, for worse, Luke

For richer, for poorer, Isabella

In sickness and in health, Luke

To love and to cherish, Isabella

With one voice, Till death never makes us apart.

The crowd cheered. Isabella's mom and dad handed us our wedding rings with teary eyes. I held Isabella's ring finger, slowly inserted the diamond ring into her.

The big clapping astonished the serenity and all the guests who were immersed in this sacred event. I stared without blinking at the people who were little apart from me.

Isabella's parents turned pale, remembering the violence and threats they had gone through.

Behind them, I saw Jack sprint over to me.

"I just found out. At the last second, I get to follow them. Good thing, the flight crew let me sneak in" said Jack.

"I've no clue where they got the leak from. What's clear, is they received it for the 1 million dollars they offered," said Jack.

"They move in silence, I'm sorry", said Jack.

"You've done so much for me. Time to face the music", I said.

"It's now or never!" I exclaimed.

"Luke..", she gripped my arm and looked at me in dread.

"They won't set us apart", I squeezed her hand.

Silas took off his dark glasses, "Are you done talking to your girl and best friend?"

"May I speak?", Silas shoots a sadistic look.

"My beloved son, I'm deeply saddened that you didn't invite your parents to your wedding. Your wedding is our biggest dream", said Silas.

"Oh lord! You nearly married the wrong woman," said Silas.

"You know what the best part is when you choose a place that doesn't take much time to fly."

"Did you do it on purpose so we could mess up the wedding?", he smirked.

"WHAT DO YOU WANT?!", I asked.

"GUARDS! CLEAN UP THE AREA!", Silas ordered

The wedding venue instantly became empty. The five of us and a group of Abrams remained.

"Get off the aisle, we'll go back to our residence. You gonna marry our chosen woman!", said Silas.
