"You're really my best friend, you know that?" I said sincerely.
"Okay, okay! Calm down," Cece said, extricating herself from my chokehold.
I let her go and grinned. "Sorry."
After pulling me inside her room and shutting the door, she curiously looked at me. "You look happy. I take it something good happened?"
My grin filled my entire face. "Yes! I'm so happy, thanks to you! It was such a wonderful surprise, Cece. I didn't expect you to do that."
"What exactly did I do?" she asked tentatively.
"We figured it out, Luca and I," I replied, giving her a knowing smile. "We knew you purposefully set the two of us to meet. And it was exactly what we needed, Cece. The timing, the moment — it just happened, and it was perfect." I blushed, recalling the memory of his sweet and rough kisses.
"Oh." She exhaled, sounding slightly relieved. "He kissed you."
