"Don't cry," I whispered, my voice breaking. My lips were quivering slightly when I spoke. "I'm sorry."

The corners of her mouth pulled downward. "You should be," Lena answered, her tone simultaneously accusing and seeking comfort. Like how she usually did a long time ago when she was mad at me for finding her during her breakouts but also happy that I came for her.

She rested her head on my chest as we continued our clumsy swaying.

I leaned down so that my chin barely touched the top of her head, her familiar smell pervaded my senses — a mix of her natural scent that I was so used to, combined with a light perfume of vanilla and rose.

I took several deep breaths and sighed at the same time she did. She appeared to be doing the same thing.

"I miss you," she murmured against my chest. "Thank you for coming to dance with me."
