I wore a turtleneck dress to hide the light purplish-yellow bruise around my neck. The scratches on my face had faded to pale pink lines, completely unnoticeable from afar. Just like the memories of the attack; thinking back on it does not frighten me as much anymore.
It was pretty crowded inside the great hall by the time I arrived. The entire royal guard was attending the ceremony, not just the Princess's guard. I peeked inside, quickly scanning the room, but he wasn't there.
I remained in the corridor outside, anxiously waiting.
My heart gave a little leap of joy when I saw Luca approaching. His head was still bandaged, but it was hidden by black linen wrapped around his head to make him appear more presentable for the occasion. Yet, he was as handsome as ever.
I really missed him.
"Hi, Luca," I said tentatively, almost shyly.
