"A full health examination?" I said. "Why? I'm not sick. I don't need it. I'm perfectly fine."
"Your Highness, you misunderstand the King's intentions," Amelia said in a rush, glancing at the door before meeting my gaze with her frightened eyes. "I assume he didn't want to confront you directly, so he asked the physician to do it instead."
"What are you talking about, Amelia?" I asked, frowning.
"A full examination covers everything to determine any medical condition you may have. There's a woman with him, who I assume will be conducting the tests that the physician isn't allowed to do. You won't be able to hide anything from them, Your Highness. Even pregnancy, if you're carrying."
I finally understood Amelia's fears. "What?" I whispered as the blood drained from my face. "B–but I don't even know if I am!" My hand absently touched my belly.
"There is a high chance you are since you didn't bleed last month."
