Chapter 3 - Protection Spell

Jack had never felt so alive. With Sarah by his side, he felt like he could conquer anything. But despite the happiness he felt, there was a gnawing feeling in the pit of his stomach that he couldn't shake.

It started as a whisper, a faint voice in the back of his mind that he could barely hear. But as the days passed, the voice grew louder, more insistent. It was always there, taunting him, luring him towards a dark path. Jack could hear it when he was alone when he was lying in bed at night, trying to sleep. It was a voice that whispered of despair, of hopelessness. It whispered of endings, of a release from the pain and the sorrow that had consumed him since the loss of his family.

The voice was always there, growing louder, more persistent. It whispered to him as he walked through the streets, as he tried to ignore the pitying glances of those around him. It whispered to him as he sat in silence, staring at the walls of his empty apartment. It whispered to him of death, of a release from the pain and the sorrow that had consumed him.

At first, Jack tried to ignore the voice, to push it away. But as it grew louder, more insistent, he found himself becoming more and more drawn to it. He could hear ghostly laughter, ghostly whispers, ghostly screams. He could hear the ghostly footsteps of someone, or something, following him. He could hear the ghostly words, "It's time to end it all." He could feel the ghostly breath on the back of his neck, could feel the ghostly touch on his skin. He knew that it was something more than just his imagination. He knew that there was something wrong.

Despite his fear, Jack couldn't bring himself to tell Sarah about the voice. He didn't want to worry her, didn't want her to see him as weak. So he kept it to himself, trying to ignore it as best he could. But the voice was always there, always whispering, always tempting him toward the darkness.

Jack knew that he needed to find a way to silence the voice, to put an end to the ghostly presence that seemed to be haunting him. But he didn't know how. He didn't know who, or what was behind the voice. He didn't know how to make it stop. All he knew was that he couldn't take it anymore. He needed to find a way to end the torment and the pain. He needed to find a way to silence the voice.

One night, as they were in a book store and still he was hearing the voices around him. Jack couldn't take it anymore. He told Sarah everything, about the voice, the darkness, and the thoughts of suicide. Sarah listened intently, her heart breaking for him.

Sarah could see the pain etched on Jack's face. She knew that he was going through something that was beyond his control. She comforted him and assured him that he was not alone in this, that she was there for him, and that she would help him fight the darkness.

But Sarah had a secret. After Jack's initial struggles, she put a powerful protection shield on him without telling him. She knew that no witch, not even her sister Emma, could break it. She had done it to protect him from the darkness that seemed to be consuming him, to protect him from the ghostly presence that seemed to be haunting him.

She knew that Jack would be angry with her for keeping something like this from him. But she also knew that he would understand why she had done it. She knew that he would see that she had only done it out of love, out of a desire to protect him from harm.

But Sarah couldn't shake off the feeling of guilt that was gnawing at her. She couldn't shake off the feeling that she had kept something important from Jack, something that he had a right to know. She knew that she needed to tell him the truth, to be honest with him. But she didn't know how to bring it up, how to broach the subject.

As she sit beside Jack, listening to his soft breathing, Sarah knew that she needed to find a way to tell him about the protection shield. She knew that she needed to find a way to be honest with him, to be open with him. But she didn't know how. She didn't know how to tell him without risking their relationship.

So, Sarah decided to wait until the right moment came. She promised herself that she would tell him soon, but not now. She promised herself that she would do everything in her power to protect Jack, to keep him safe from the darkness that seemed to be consuming him. And she hoped that Jack would understand why she had kept the truth from him when the time came.

"Sarah sat at the edge of Jack's bed, watching him toss and turn in his sleep. He was sweating profusely and mumbling incoherently. She knew that whatever was tormenting him was getting worse.

She couldn't sleep, her mind was racing with worry and fear. She knew she had to do something, but she didn't know what. So, she reached out to her coven.

The coven leader, a wise old witch named Raven, listened patiently as Sarah described Jack's symptoms. Raven's face grew more and more serious as Sarah spoke, and when she was finished, Raven sighed heavily.

'This is not something we have encountered before,' Raven said. 'It's as if the darkness is coming from within him as if it's a part of him.'

Sarah nodded, tears streaming down her face. 'What can we do?' she asked desperately.

Raven thought for a moment, her eyes closed in concentration. 'We will do a ritual,' she said finally. 'It will not only help to protect Jack, but it will also reveal the source of the darkness.'

Sarah nodded, feeling a flicker of hope. She knew that Raven was one of the most powerful witches in the coven, and if anyone could help Jack, it was her.

As the coven gathered together, Sarah sat by Jack's side, holding his hand. She could feel the ghostly whispers around them, and she knew that the ritual had begun.

The coven leader, the Raven, began to chant in a language that Sarah didn't understand. But she could feel the power of the words, could feel them wrapping around her and Jack like a warm blanket.

As Raven continued to chant, the ghostly whispers grew louder and more frantic. Sarah could feel Jack's hand tighten in hers and him struggling against the darkness.

But then, just as suddenly as it had begun, the whispers stopped. The room was silent, and Sarah could feel the tension in the air dissipate. She looked over at Jack, who was now sleeping peacefully.

She knew that the ritual had worked. She knew that he was protected and that the source of the darkness had been revealed. And she knew that with the help of her coven, she and Jack would be able to overcome anything.

Raven told Sarah that it was a very powerful and rare spell which is only temporary and that they needed to find a permanent solution before it was too late. Sarah knew that time was running out and she couldn't let Jack succumb to the darkness.

She started researching every spell and potion she could find, but nothing seemed to work. She even went to other covens for help, but no one had any answers.

As Jack's condition worsened, Sarah could see the fear and desperation in his eyes. She knew that she needed to do something, and fast.

One night, as she sat alone in her room, flipping through ancient books and scrolls, she heard a faint whisper in her ear. It was a voice she had never heard before, but it seemed to be calling out to her.

She followed the voice, and it led her to a hidden chamber deep in the heart of the forest. There, she found an ancient spell that promised to banish the darkness from within.

What was the spell ??

Who would have cast the dangerous spell??
